Negative Endoscopy!

I was so sure I had celiac. But my endoscopy and biopsies came back negative. I've been eating gluten free for close to a month now and haven't had any issues - except for the two times I cheated. Ugh I am so frustrated! My dr wants me to keep eating gluten free for a month before he does any other tests. What else could it be? IBS?

False negatives are really common with biopsies and with blood work. Did you have positive blood work? If you did you are one of us. Good for your doctor to have you keep eating gluten free despite the negative biopsy. Glad to hear the diet is helping as that is the best test. You weren't gluten free before the biopsy were you? That will ensure a negative result.

      If you have hemorrhoids 1x weekly I don't see how you have time to heal from one episode before you experience another one, unless each one is a very minor event. Have you consulted a physician about your hemorrhoid issue? It's not normal to be having an episode every week unless it is really one episode that is not completely healing between weekly...

      No I haven't had one since 2021. I rarely have more than 1 per week.

      Sorry, I see that now as I reread your original post. You say you have hemorrhoids "only once a week" now. When I develop hemorrhoids, which is once every few years now, it generally takes 3-4 days for healing to take place. So, it doesn't seem like you could have much relief time between episodes if you have them weekly. Have you had a lower GI scoping done...

      Everyday I eat a medium to large apple in the morning and a large banana at night. I eat a cup of oatmeal in the evening. The ezekiel wheat bread I eat has a good amount of fiber. I haven't dealt with constipation for at least a year. Most of the time my feces are soft.
