Am really confused about the extent of this. I live with a non Celiac, we share the same washing up water, washing up cloths, drying cloths etc. Is it possible that cross conatamination occurs this way?

I wash my clothes with my gluten eating husband's clothes and have no problem. I would think twice about this if he worked on any sort of farm, or around any type of flour (I'm super paranoid) but I have seen others who say that with issues such as these or with extreme sensitivities and outdoor animals they simply shed their work clothes in the mud room.

When you say washing up water, do you mean for your dishes? Yes, that could be a problem. The biggest part of this being, so much more than that, using the same rag or sponge. If you've just put a plate covered in bread crumbs or something similar in the dishwater, then put in a gluten free cutting board, it stands to reason that the cutting board could be irrevocably contaminated. On the other hand, if you simply wash up the things like the gluten free utensils and cutting boards and whatever is subject to that sort of permanent contamination first, you could then reasonably carry on as long as you are washing and rinsing well.

Cross contamination is very serious and is one of the biggest threats to our health. This link Open Original Shared Link can be found in the newbie thread with a lot of other useful information. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/91878-newbie-info-101/ It may be helpful to take the time to check out both, but especially the first as it pertains particularly to cross contamination.

Ichthus is the Greek word (using English letters) for fish. The letters in the actual Greek word form an acronym that come from the first letters in the Greek words for "Jesus", "God's Son," "Savior".   Now, back to your family's denial of your celiac disease, I think you can relate to this:

Thanks for the kind words. It's hard to convince my doctor to investigate further because of a negative blood test and he only tested me for one marker. 🙃 I've come to the point where I need to take this into my own hands because the doctors are infuriating and it's not going anywhere. I've been gluten free for a week and feeling better but I was still consuming dairy and I think that's what's backing me up. Next week no dairy introduced.

Hello mantooth nice to meet you it's so uncanny what you wrote you sound just like me even the back issues are exactly the same and I'm new here too trying to find out if I have the same had I too have been struggling to find answers with my docters I don't have a diagnosis but I've been struggling like forever and was told ibs and health aniexty was my problem but on researching I've come to the conclusion it's probably more because i cut gluten and lactose out for 6 months and  it was a incredible change for me so although I can't help with diagnosis I can say your not alone in trying  to find answers 😊
