    This is one of the things I've been wondering...can you just develop them all of a sudden like this? Or are you more susceptible to developing allergies after mono? We see the allergist on Monday for my other son, so I'll ask at that time what he thinks.

    First of all, what are the chances it's his wipes and not the diapers? I know it sounds like I'm probably trying to take the easy way out....I am! Seriously though, I would do anything and everything for my kids, so if it's difficult, then so be it...but I might as well try to make whatever I can easier. He's taking zyrtec for allergies....hives...

    I'm interested in this thread....I've asked the dr's before what it meant that my temperature was always lower than "normal." It's never gotten as low as yours, Ursula, but mine is routinely in the 96ish range and maybe gets as high as 97.6 occasionally. Do you think this could indicate anything? The doctor said it didn't mean anything. I've never taken...

    Is the normal scrubbing and heat good enough to get rid of anything they shouldn't eat? We have a charcoal grill if that matters.

    Ursula, And I thought it was bad having 1 child being allergic. I couldn't imagine having different kids allergic to different diapers....what a pain! But then again, they're all allergic to or don't like different foods, and I'm kinda getting used to that. Thanks everyone! Any recommendations of a kind that might be safer or better than Huggies...

    We use Huggies. We stopped zyrtec a couple days ago because he's having allergy skin testing done on Monday and needs it out of his system. I guess I didn't realize how much is was working as he's having bigger episodes of hives every day and they seem to itch a lot more. He has a few on his body and face, but his diaper area (front and back) is covered...

    Kristy, Sorry you had such a bad experience....I at least hope you get teh answers you're looking for, and then switch to a wonderful doctor after that. I've unfortunately had a similar experience with my previous OB/GYN doctor. He was awful! Since then, I get recommendations from numerous people before choosing any dr. My current OB/GYN, our allergy...

    Ahhhh...I forgot about the "quickly" part. This is so important, because as soon as they cool off even a little, you're back to square one again.

    I've been wondering about how hard it would be having gluten in the house. Maybe we just make the rule that there's no gluten in the house, but those of us that can still have it, can have it while eating out or at other people's houses.

    ditto...fridge and nuke between wet paper towels. The moistness is key to keeping them from falling apart. YOu can also put them in aluminum foil in the oven.     My 8 year old had mono this past spring, then my 10 year old son got it shortly after that. It seems like it's been one problem after another ever since and neither seems like they've fully recovered. I'm curious to see what others have gone through.

    My son also has horrible constipation and was recently put on Miralax twice a day. He used to poop every 4-5 days and then have enormous, extremely painful ones, and several in a row.     I must say I was a little intimidated by her thread...so long , I figured it'd be better to get an update from you all in one shot rather than try to read it all. Wow, she's been through so much, and I feel for you and your family as the stress of it all can be overwhelming at times (most of the time, it seems). I'm glad to hear things are getting better...

    So sorry! First of all, go ahead and cry...you deserve it after all this. And maybe it would be good for the bride to see (or indirectly hear) how much you are hurt by everything too. It sounds like she's not listening to you, but maybe if it came from someone else, she would listen more. It's sad, but sometimes we treat our acquaintances with more respect...

    We did talk to our pediatrician about the possibility of it being from zyrtec and he basically said anything's possible, but he doubts it. We love our allergy dr., so maybe I'll run it by him again. He thought they'd go away after a few weeks of both zyrtec and singulair,so I guess I should let him know it's not helping.     My 10 year old son, who never had even a single hive in his life, all of a sudden started getting them about 3 months ago and has had them virtually every day since. Some only last minutes, but the huge ones (3 inches in diameter), take 4-5 days to go away completely, but they always reappear somewhere else. He usually only has 4-6 at a time. Blood test...

    very interesting! Thanks, Michelle! Two other foods I suspected are towards the top of the list...oranges and tomatoes. I had never heard of anyone being allergic to these before.....I'm learning more about allergies and related issues from this board than I've learned my whole life. Thanks again!
