  1. Thanks all. Found specifics of what I was looking for at a university of chicago celiac program web site Open Original Shared Link
  2. First, my apologies for not doing a thorough search on this section of the forum, but I didn't find an answer with a quick scan. Hope this is the right forum. I've been diagnosed for almost 7 years. It was done via upper endoscopy w/ biopsy and a couple of blood tests (don't remember what they were). I've adhered to the gluten-free diet as best I could...
  3. Someone I know came back from a trip outside of the US with a bottle of pure vanilla. I know there's alcohol in it (I could understand that much of the label whihc is not in English). Any concerns with this pure vanilla?

    ARCHIVED Da Luciano

Open Original Shared Link It's in river grove IL
  5. They have a glutten-free list you can ask for. As with anything be sure to check labels. The Trader Joes by me seems kind of small and doesn't always have everything on the list or it doesn't stay in their stocking inventory. Edit To Add: Products are spread across the store, but many have a gluten-free label on the shelf.
  6. Thanks. Can't believe I missed that when I did a search....must have had an off day
  7. The recent Halloween candy posts have brought back a candy urge I haven't had in a while (Well, at least a couple of days anyway ). I've gotten this hankering for some candy orange slices. Not an assortment, just the orange ones. A couple of bags I checked out in the store were at least clearly labelled with wheat, but I still have the urge. Can anyone...
  8. Would you please post the URL where you found the list? Thanks

    ARCHIVED Mcdonalds

Brizzo, Would you provide the URL that came from? I looked on the McD site but didn't see it. Thanks
  10. I just called about Campbells, Ready To Serve, Low Sodium, Chicken Broth Soup. Ingredients: Chicken Broth, Chicken Fat, Dextrose, Yeast Extract, Flavoring. They offered to mail me the gluten-free list and couldn't tell me what was the gluten, but should use the list, not the label although they couldnt tell me how recent the list was either.
  11. I know Campbells only has ~2 gluten-free soups on their official list , but while reading labels in the soup aisle recently, I noticed Campbells, Ready To Serve, Low Sodium, Chicken Broth Soup. Ingredients: Chicken Broth, Chicken Fat, Dextrose, Yeast Extract, Flavoring. So I called to find out if gluten-free and the person only had the 2 soup list...
  12. For frozen breads, I like EnjoyForLife, Kinnikinnick(sp), and Whole Foods gluten-free BakeShop. Can purchase at WildOats, WholeFoods, or Fruitful Yield (Health store chain). Around here there's a couple of BreadSmith bakeries that make gluten-free bread 1 or 2 times a month.
  13. Here's a vote for Kinnikinnick
  14. My vote for best tasting gluten-free cracker is Schar. And from a previous cracker thread Open Original Shared Link
  15. I think the tomato with croutons is new. Geesh, I hope it isn't a replacement for the tomato soup. I checked with the company once and have seen it on a list or two some time ago. Kept a watch on ingredients and haven't seen anything that concerned me much since. Always a fear they would change their formula some day or drop the flavor like they did...
  16. I've tried several different ones and I have to say the Schar crackers are the closest thing to a real cracker I've found (although they are pricey).

    ARCHIVED This Just In

I was doing some travelling recently and had emailed the local TRH about eating gluten-free. Guess this news explains why I never received any replies from them...
  18. I stopped in LnT and BBB too. I actually mentioned to the employeee at LnT I was looking for it so I wouldn't get wheat contamination when travelling and she totally knew all about Gluten sensitivity...she had a relative that needed to be gluten-free.
  19. From the McD web site ingredients list: Beef Patty: 100% pure USDA inspected beef; no additives, no fillers, no extenders. Pasteurized Process American Cheese: Milk, milkfat, water, cream, sodium citrate, salt, sodium phosphate, sorbic acid (preservative), artificial color, cheese culture, acetic acid, soy lecithin, enzymes, with starch added for...
  20. I'd appreciate knowing if you actaully find these for purchase in a retail store. I just heard about these toasta bags today and they would be fantastic for hotel traveling with the continental breakfasts. Hope I can find some in the next 2 days. I've got a BBB & LnT nearby and will try that..

  23. oh YEAH!!!! I love Saz's. You can mail order direct from them (or at least you used to be able to - they are in WI) and there are some local Meijer stores around me that stock it some of the time as well.

    ARCHIVED Arbys!

Arby's used to sell their bottled sauce separately. After I read it was gluten-free, I went in to purchase some and found they no longer sell it as a separate item. Counter girl was totally perplexed by my question, but got a guy to charge me for the price of 4 cheddar cups ($2.00) (? guess thats extra cheese sauce for something ?) and then instead gave...
  25. Yep...I called them too and, thankfully, got the same answer. WooHoo, I can drink IBC again.
