Dear Courtlynn, I agree with Deb. You probably got glutened. I get violently ill from gluten. Thank God for Promethazine! I have it on hand for emergencies. If I did not have it, I would have dry heaves endlessly after getting glutened. Sincerely, NoGluGirl

ARCHIVED Describe Your Worst Glutening! :o
NoGluGirl replied to a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Dear Doll, My worst glutening happened earlier this year. A local candy company said many of their items were gluten-free. Apparently not. I got horribly nauseated like usual, then started shaking all over after breaking out in a sweat, had a sudden need for a bowel movement, and I shook so hard my hands went numb! This was horrible, but at... -
ARCHIVED Shocked And Needs Help
NoGluGirl replied to Shotzy1313's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Dear Shotzy, Do not worry! After the biopsy, there are things you can eat! Wal-Mart has a ton of gluten-free foods that are labeled! Not being able to eat chicken, turkey, beans, or tuna is tough. However, there are other options out there. I have a master list I put together, but due to your situation being a bit different, I think I should... -

Dear Mia, That is great you like your doctor so much! This new one really does seem to have a good idea of what is going on with you. As you said, an integrative approach is best. Bits and pieces rarely if ever get you very far. It is frustrating being in a situation where you feel slightly better, but do not completely recover. ... -
ARCHIVED Ct Scan - Prep Ingredients - Make Sure You Know The Ingredients
NoGluGirl replied to whitball's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Dear whitball, I was given the iodine as well, after they found out I only was able to drink a half of one of the three bottles I was supposed to have taken for the prep. They said mine was vanilla flavored, but it was nowhere close in my opinion! I am a supertaster, so I would have tasted it had there been an actual flavor besides chalky... -
ARCHIVED How Many Of You.....
NoGluGirl replied to NoSugarShell's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Dear JNBunnie1, Actually, I have considered both of these! I used to babysit as a teenager. It was fun! My parents made me stop because they were afraid of sue happy people. That is a reasonable concern. People sue just because they can, which is ridiculous. You know, I never considered the fact the bathroom would be available if need be... -
ARCHIVED How Many Of You.....
NoGluGirl replied to NoSugarShell's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Dear JNBunnie1, I know exactly what you mean! I wish I did not have to wash my hands constantly. It is exhausting! My parents are not careful. They get crumbs all over the place. I get glutened periodically due to that. If I was well, able to work, and had my own place, I would not have to deal with this crap. All it takes is one lousy... -
ARCHIVED Ct Scan - Prep Ingredients - Make Sure You Know The Ingredients
NoGluGirl replied to whitball's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Dear ravenwoodglass, I was injected with the iodine when I had my CT. The reason was I was unable to drink enough of the prep. I do not believe I broke out at the time from it. Now I seem to have what could be DH. Although it looks a lot like acne, it burns and itches even after it scabs over. I have it all down my back, neck, behind my ears... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Pizza In Bloomington Indiana!
NoGluGirl replied to ladybugpumpkin's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Dear Amanda, Thank you for posting this! Now I know where I can eat if I go up to Bloomington! I am in Evansville. I know that there are only 64 gluten-free restaurants in our state, and I have a bad feeling none of them are in this town! Maybe there are some I just have not heard of. Sincerely, NoGluGirl -
ARCHIVED Ct Scan - Prep Ingredients - Make Sure You Know The Ingredients
NoGluGirl replied to whitball's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Dear whitball, Thank you for posting this! That might explain why I got so ill after downing half of a bottle of the stuff before having an abdominal CT several years ago. They give you a barium sulfate solution. It is not tasty. I hope you feel better now. Sincerely, NoGluGirl -
ARCHIVED How Many Of You.....
NoGluGirl replied to NoSugarShell's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Dear NoSugarShell, There are a number of great cosmetics we can use. Wet'n Wild is all gluten-free except for one of the mascaras. Even better, I got my concealer, foundation and powder for under $7 altogether, and it stays on well! Who would have thought? CoverGirl clearly labels any gluten-containing ingredients. Maybelline also does... -
ARCHIVED Gluten, Casein And Peanut Butter
NoGluGirl replied to a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Dear Happynwgal2, I have an essay I wrote on Candida. The pathology is quite fascinating. Just PM me with your personal e-mail address. It must be sent in an attachment, as it is a Word document. Do not worry, you are not alone! My stomach is very bloated and upset from the yeast as well. I crave sugar all the time, and peanut butter is... -
Dear melmak5, I really think there is a common element in most foods that irritate your system. The element is fungus. It naturally occurs in many things. If you have an overgrowth of yeast, fruit juices, dried fruits, grains, fresh fruits, high carbohydrate starchy foods, and numerous other things will bother your system. Eating peanuts/butter...

ARCHIVED I Just Know He Has Celiac!
NoGluGirl replied to peaches102984's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Dear Casey, The test results do not always show anything. I have Celiac, but I was seronegative. Blood tests are often negative in the most severe cases, according to new research by Dr. Kenneth Fine. Your daughter is smart! She already knows that bread is making her ill. I have some wonderful news for you. Just because... -

Dear Rinne, I am so glad you did not disappear to the hinterlands again! We would miss you too much! How wonderful you get to see your grandchild! Feeling well enough to travel is amazing! I am anxious to feel that way! Quitting smoking is smart! My father probably never will. He is a chimney with legs. Even worse, despite being... -

Dear Mia, Detox is best done slowly. It is smart you are not doing a whole lot right now. Chelation is demanding enough. The body has to be able to regenerate itself. This cannot happen without rest. I am going to start out with something basic, and work up to more. Parasites are very difficult to kill in a number of cases. Each... -
Dear LoriC, Thank you for sharing! It makes me feel better knowing other people have similar skin issues. Maybe this horrible nuisance will finally go away! I am quite bothered by it. I did not know Dapazone was orally taken. I thought it was a topical ointment. Sincerely, NoGluGirl
-
Dear missy'smom, It is very likely that is what this really is. I am going to ask my doctor for some Dapazone next time. I cannot really put in on my scalp, but can elsewhere. My face, back, and neck particularly of a concern. Thank you for the picture information! Sincerely, NoGluGirl

Dear blueeyedmanda, I am so excited for you! The wedding is going to be fabulous! I know I already know what I want when I get married. All I need is the groom! I was hoping for maybe John Stamos, but who knows? I would not sneeze at Zach Braff, or Josh Groban either! Dear Bev, I love Halloween as well. In Wicca... -

Dear Donna, I am glad you were able to go to work on Monday, despite your back being out. Thank goodness the PT could get you in so quickly! Chiropractic adjustments do wonders from what I hear! I wish I could get one. Maybe that would help me. Rolling your spine helps, which I should begin doing again. Goodness have you had... -

Dear Everyone, I have been reading along, just not posting. I have enjoyed every minute of it, too! All of the posts are so hilarious! Between Nikki's kitten farting, Susie's kitty journal, tom's ptuamfoolery, Alex's church bulletins, Richard's Viagra cufflinks, Bev's hair craziness and silly Halloween tips (I should try some of those... -
Dear missy'smom, I think I looked at the photos on that Web site. My blemishes sure look an awful lot like some of their pictures. Maybe I can ask my doctor for some Dapazone at my next appointment. It is so uncomfortable! Washing my face and using pimple cream seems to make it worse. Sincerely, ...

Dear Paula, Your poor husband! I am so sorry to hear he had to deal with that creep at work. Some people are just hateful. They could not care less what others deal with. They believe the entire universe revolves around them. I really cannot wait to read about Valley Fever. I have never known it existed. If I can find anything...
-
Dear Paula, I have never heard of Valley Fever. I am going to look that up. That is a new one to me. Meanwhile, is there any possibility they could put in a feeding tube? I understand wanting to be prepared for the worst. Hopefully, your BIL will recover. Keep us posted! HUGS! Thank goodness the rosary was not lost afterall...

Dear ENF, Thank you for the information. I have done a lot of research on serotonin. Neurotransmitters are often overlooked. In all truth, just about everyone in this country probably has a shortage, due to the high amount of transfats and sugar in the diet. The SSRIs are not a good thing to take. Side-effects are bad, and they are highly...
