ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
NoGluGirl replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Dear Andrea, I figure it was the EFAs. EPO is good for supplementing those. It is often used like fish oil. I know it was mentioned repeatedly in "The Yeast Connection". I would think they help brain chemistry. Sincerely, Jin -

Dear Carla, I did not know insurance normally paid for more when necessary. Usually, a lot of people have difficulty getting their insurance to cover even the most basic. Blue Cross Blue Shield and Anthem are notorious for that. They will deny the most general claim. My best friend used to be on it, and she said they pretty much ended up paying... -
ARCHIVED Anti-aging Cream.
NoGluGirl posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Dear Everyone, I am wanting to use something around my eyes and mouth to prevent wrinkles. Is there anything out there that is affordable and gluten-free? Olay Regenerist seems good, but I do not know if it is safe to use. I have some wrinkles starting because of squinting. I am near-sighted. Sincerely... -

NoGluGirl replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Dear Everyone, By now, most of you should have a PM or e-mail. I sent them out this morning. I am going to reply from everything on pages 1786 on in my post later. I need to organize my notes. Luckily, that will be quite easy compared to what I was doing earlier! Sincerely, Jin P.S. I was wrong in... -
Dear bobohead, I am so here with you! Although I have been gluten-free for a while, my parents refuse to go gluten-free. I have a violent reaction, so despite how badly I want something, I never willingly cheat. Still, it makes me terribly resentful when my father brings home Chinese food that I cannot eat. He knows that is my favorite, with...

ARCHIVED Help I'm 18 And Alergic To Dairy And Gluten
NoGluGirl replied to dixiedelight01's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Dear dixiedelight01, I have a list that should really help. This is overwhelming. I went through this with myself in August of 2006. You spend most of your day cooking and cleaning obsessively. The rest you are on the phone with reps from companies trying to find out what is safe. I decided to save you the trouble! 1. There are a number of... -
ARCHIVED Campbell's And Haagen-dazs Gluten Free Lists Received In Mail
NoGluGirl replied to Respira's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Dear Respira, Thank you so much for posting this! I have been looking for broths and such to use. I know a lot of Swanson's broths are safe, but it is good to have more brands in case of stores running out. Stores sometimes carry things, and other times they do not. I might just have to get myself some Lactaid so I can treat myself to Haagen... -
ARCHIVED Announcement From Kraft Foods About Chocolate Covered Nuts
NoGluGirl replied to Respira's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Dear Respira, Thank you for posting this! Had I seen them in the store, I might have gotten them! I always read labels, but you never know. I have had to watch the sugar due to Candida, but this is something I might have treated myself to thinking it was safe. Since my reaction is very violent, I do anything I can to avoid coming into contact... -
ARCHIVED Old El Paso Taco Seasoning?
NoGluGirl replied to blondebombshell's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Dear blondebombshell, Ortega is also safe. It is one I love. They adhere to a very strict labeling policy like Old El Paso. The last time I checked, all of their products were gluten-free. Daisy sour cream is safe if you can have dairy. The low-fat and fat-free versions are as well. Kraft shredded cheeses (like all Kraft products... -

Dear Everyone, I am following along! I just got caught up with my reading. The regularly scheduled column will be on here soon! Sometime this evening I should get it on here. I must go upstairs and make my memory notes, then edit. After that, I can respond! Sincerely, Jin -

NoGluGirl replied to TriticusToxicum's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Dear Susie, Sarah, and Patti, I am glad you liked the poem! It was my pleasure. I hope it was a fitting tribute to our little Stinker! Susie, remember that dogs see spirits. So, if Annie starts hopping around or something, you must understand that she can see Tika when she visits. They often do! Dear Patti, I love... -

Dear Amanda, I had Mr. Molar extracted last week. He did not want to go! The oral surgeon used a bunch of different forceps to grab the tooth. They had to break him in pieces, and take him out that way. My jaw still hurts, which means I need another course of Amoxy. However, I have to wait until after Saturday. I am getting... -

NoGluGirl replied to TriticusToxicum's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Dear Everyone, Sorry I have been away for so long! I just have been trying to straighten out health issues. I will try to pop in more often. Things have been kind of crazy lately. Mr. Molar was removed Thursday of last week. Dear Susie, I just had to come in and give my condolences. Tika was our Rachelville mascot... -

NoGluGirl replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Dear Carla, I am looking forward to getting the WB results and posting them! I know you guys can decypher them. This is something I am not too reliant on my doctor for. She could not even order the freakin' test kit, let alone anything else! Mom says she should be paying me! Dear Andrea, You are right. Nyxie could... -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
NoGluGirl replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Dear Donna, I agree that the CDC criteria is lacking. My doctor will not listen to it. She also points out how few of the cases may actually have been reported. This is a major issue. There could be doctors not reporting cases, making it harder for people to assess risk. Dear Carla, I hope to get my test next week at this time. ... -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
NoGluGirl replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Dear Donna, Thank you for posting that again! I am glad I got the info from you a while back. This really makes you think. So many strains can be neglected. Properly educated doctors are important to seek out on Borreliosis. Dear Nyxie63, Do not fret! Just because you have a negative WB means nothing. First of all, as Andrea... -

Dear Charlie, I am so glad your sister got to be there when the that RSD bill was signed! That probably was the best thing for her! Her progress is very exciting! We all are pulling for her. Physical therapy can be tough, but she is a strong person. Torn ligaments are very painful! That is so strange how it just hurt all... -

Dear Andrea, I would not recommend Sherry eat gluten, either. I will not go back to eating it unless I know I am fine with it. I have a terrible feeling Celiac will get in the way. The gene testing might be helpful as an indicator. I just hate being hungry all the time! Sincerely, Jin -

Dear Carla, This is exciting! It sounds like you and Chloe had a terrific appointment. Now you finally can get on the herbs! Chloe seems to have made amazing progress, too. Congratulations to both of you! I wish you could have seen Bev while you were in NYC. That would have been neat to meet up with her. I can see why... -

NoGluGirl replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Dear Rachel, Oh, what a wonderful dream it is! I want them so much! God, please do not let me have Celiac genes. Maybe this is not permanent. I really should not give my hopes up, but I cannot help myself! Sincerely, Jin P.S. I see you Rachel, Donna, and Patti! -

Dear Donna, Lisa definately has a wicked sense of humor! She is so much fun! Even at her sickest, she cheers us up! Laughter is good medicine. It is also free! They took great pictures when I had my procedures. I had my endo/colonoscopy done all at once, too. God, I was just thinking about that. I really hope they put... -

Dear Kristina, I am sorry you still have that stupid flu. It is no fun! You sure are amazing to be able to go to work in that state! I admire you for sure! Being chronically ill is bad enough, but to catch that nasty bug on top of it is extra terrible. You may not react to the veggie burger right away. Some people have delayed... -
ARCHIVED Any Of These Items Gluten-free?
NoGluGirl replied to NoGluGirl's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Dear Amanda, We always used Durkee. As far as I know, all of their extracts are safe. My father does not pay attention to the things I do. Then, he gets angry if I do not want to get sick! I told him to get Durkee Pure Vanilla Extract. I am glad McCormick is safe, too. In case I cannot get Durkee, I can probably find it somewhere! ... -
ARCHIVED Any Of These Items Gluten-free?
NoGluGirl replied to NoGluGirl's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Dear Sweetfudge, I am glad I did not use it, either! It is so annoying when people want you to play Russian Roulette with your intestines. My father is saying we need to use common sense. He is the first to complain when he has to go downstairs and expects me to get off of the toilet when I am violently ill from being glutened! Durkee... -

Dear Andrea, It would be great if Julie did not have to deal with that anymore. This condition really causes her major trouble. That is frightening what it does. I have never heard of anything like it. Experiencing that must be scary! Dear Donna, I read about Vitamin D deficiencies recently. The being worn out so easily and wiped...
