  1. Dear Rachel--24, I might be able to do this. I think all I would have to do is go through and paste and copy into word. That should not be too hard. It will, however, take some time. I have been around computers since I was three, in fact, I even learned how to spell by playing Wheel of Fortune! I still love that game! I am good at...
  2. Dear Donna, Amalgams are scary what they can do to you. I make sure my dentist knows how I feel about that. Another great book I have not gotten to read much of yet is "It's All In Your Head" by Dr. Hal Huggins. Dentists often poo - poo these things, but the ADA lies about things. So does the AMA as we all know. The gluten certainly does...
  3. Dear CarlaB, I am glad someone else is on the same wave length (get it, boat, wave length) He he. I need insurance desperately, but do not know what to do. Despite applying in a bunch of places since September, I have gotten nothing. I did not try Starbucks, yet though. And, even better, 20 hours would be perfect! I go to college,...
  4. Dear Donna, Wow, who would have thought? I have had Thyroid trouble, but this seems more severe. This started way before I had any amalgams put in. I made sure when they did get put in (my first last year) that they were composite fillings. I am scared to death of mercury poisoning! I read a book about it and its connection to Alzheimer...
  5. Dear Rachel, What a relief! Whew! I worried it was just me! Well, I have been gluten free for five months or so now. I think since the middle of August or September. That brain fog is a major problem. Sometimes, it is like I am on a boat, where I am kind of dizzy and just feel weird all over, as I said. It is not like the room spinning...
  6. Dear Rachel--24, I have not been genetically tested for Celiac at this time. I do not have insurance, so I cannot afford to. My symptoms have been so bad (mostly the digestive symptoms - especially the nausea) that working a regular job seems impossible. Even so, I have applied to various places, but have yet to hear anything. I have...
  7. Dear Rachel--24, I am so glad you posted that info about Candida and Celiac. That confirms my suspicions and the research I have done as well. I am of Irish descent. My doctor just told me the other day that I could just be one of the few people whose tests came back negative due to not being able to produce antibodies. She says she has had...
  8. Dear CarlaB, The Flagyl actually intensified the Fibro, I am sorry to say. Fibro is normally yeast related according to research I have done. Yeast can move into the muscles, and make things very painful. Getting rid of the yeast is essential to remove the Fibro. What it does to your stomach is even worse! ...
  9. Dear CarlaB, Thank you for the info on prebiotics. I kept hearing about them, but had no idea what they were! I take L. Acidophillus, but maybe I need prebiotics to assist their functioning. I do feel the difference without them. I try to workout, but lately after doing that round of Flagyl, the past couple of months I just have not felt...
  10. Dear larry mac, I have run my bottles through the dishwasher and been fine. I think it depends on the person. I do know that the other you said was true about bacteria as well. People do not realize that reusing a water bottle without cleaning it and putting it in the fridge can cause them to get a cold. The germs naturally present in...
  11. Dear Electra, I know exactly what you mean! I am the only one in the house that is gluten free. My parents are not. They think I am just going to recover like that, you know? It can be a slow process. My doctor does not rely on those tests much, because she has a had a small number of patients who had negative biopsies and negative blood tests...
  12. Dear dlp252, I am happy to help in any way I can! Also, avoid items with soy lecithin and soy extracts of any kind, like soybean isolate (in protein powder and a lot of other foods) because it kills the thyroid. Anti-bacterial soap containing triclosan slows it down. Flouridated toothpaste - get rid of it! Flouride is toxic to the thyroid...
  13. Dear Sophiekins, Where I live, the water is so bad, it will make you gag when you brush your teeth! It literally tastes that bad. Sometimes it tastes like algae, other times like a swimming pool. Either way, it is too gross! Our water is so polluted they have to dump tons of chemicals in it. I have a Culligan water filter in our fridge...
  14. Dear peacenlove_girl17, For a while, I was very underweight and just kept losing weight. But after I did the Helidac therapy about 3 years ago, losing weight has become a lot harder. I wish I could afford to go organic. Unfortunately, it is unaffordable at the moment. I got some organic tamari, and it is so good! It is so much...
  15. Dear dlp252, My Thyroid was fast at first, then it got too slow after going on Levothyroxine. What it does is a small dose of Thyroid medication tricks it into slowing down. The problem was, then it got too slow! Either way, I gained weight, which sucked and is unfair. Only I would gain weight when I am supposed to lose it! I could not tolerate...
  16. Dear CarlaB, That is interesting. I wondered. Herxheimer reactions can be extremely miserable. In fact, my doctor mentioned bacterial die-off can make you really sick. I did not know about that before. I suppose that is why they say you often feel worse before you get better! Still, whether or not it is Lyme is hard to say. Candida...
  17. Dear dlp252, I take double doses of Prilosec too! Now since going gluten free, I have improved to the point I do not have to take it right on the dot. In fact, sometimes I can get away with only taking one a day now. I had to do that horrible Helidac therapy four times as long as most people. I was on it for two months. It was absolute...
  18. Dear peacenlove_girl17, I am surprised I survived those pills! LOL! I do not have a clue what to do with the bloating issue. No matter what, it seems to be awful. I tried giving up diet soda ( I only used to drink one daily) but that did not make a difference. I am like you, I just wear baggy clothes. Everything feels...
  19. Dear CarlaB, I have had that rash for years, too! Antibacterial soap can cause that, but mine is from dyes too. I am allergic to a few of them. No matter what soap I use, this rash is there during the winter and fall. It really sucks and it can be painful. If the Crocodile Hunter was still alive (I miss him!) he would be bagging my head...
  20. Dear peacenlove_girl17, Thank you for the good thoughts. I took it back in I think early November, and I have been sicker again since. Wow, it made you very ill too! I had to dope myself up on promethazine just to finish the course of those pills. I could hardly stand it. Now it has set off a whole other set of things. I...
  21. Dear Rachel--24, I was on Flagyl because I told the doctor I had trouble "down below" and thought it was a yeast infection. She argued that by the symptoms, it was a bacterial infection. The thing is, I went on the antibiotics, and felt absolutely awful during and after taking them. Then my symptoms "down yonder" got worse. The Monistat...
  22. Dear dlp252, As far as the mold in your home goes, toxic mold can make you and your whole family terribly sick. If it is bad enough, you may actually have to leave your home. Candida sufferers particularly are vulnerable. I have read things that said toxic mold has even been blamed for lung cancer and ulcers! I sneeze until I nearly pass out...
  23. Dear CarlaB, I called the manufacturer before even taking the Flagyl. It is gluten free. So the candida is the more likely suspect. I cannot say I am totally discounting the possibility of Lyme disease after I saw something on t.v. tonight. The extreme fatigue and feeling strange all over is problematic. Sincerely...
  24. Dear Andrea and Carla B., I told my father that I figured that gluten intolerance is permanent. Of course, he argues about it because even though he has done no research (I have read books up the wazoo and Web articles like crazy) he still knows everything. You know how people are! LOL! Here is something though...I am not so sure...
  25. Dear Tanya, It is so good to hear that Meg has improved! Those heart caths can be pretty difficult. My grandfather had one some time ago. He has congestive heart failure, and his heart only pumps between 15% and 19%. He often struggles just to breathe when walking. Hopefully, Meg will be able to go back and they can help reduce the pressure...
