  1. Just wanted to update you all on Maddie. She is doing great! We saw the GI yesterday and she hit a growth spurt last week I think. She shot up in height and gained a little over a pound in 4 months. She is about to be 1 in two weeks and so we are doing a milk challenge this week. I am to give her one bottle of milk-based formula every morning for a...
  2. I hope you find some answers today. Maddie has her follow up with the GI today too. Must be a good day to see the doc.
  3. What great news! That is amazing I thought they said she would have to stay 6 weeks! Just amazing!!! My dh ask about her all the time too We are just one big family in this small world
  4. I am sorry you had such a hard time. My ob was very watchful over me and my baby. I had some complications but nothing too bad. Maddie was a week late in fact!
  5. I don't post here much but I wanted you to know that I read the updates everyday and we are praying for Megan always. I am so glad that she is doing better.
  6. Oh I forgot to mention that I am gluten-free too because I have Celiac. I don't know if anyone really knows the answer of when to introduce gluten.
  7. Wow I was really sick too. I couldn't move or eat or drink anything. Thankfully my baby survived. I feel for all of you who lost your little ones. That just breaks my heart.
  8. Those meatballs sound good! Maddie can't have Milk, soy, eggs, dairy, peanuts and Gluten. I know how you feel with the screaming thing. We go to the GI next week so maybe he will be able to help us find something she can eat. I also just wanted to let you guys know that those meat sticks have milk in them Also the wagon wheels have some soy but...
  9. I am so in the same boat as you are. My baby is 11 months old and I have pretty much given up on the whole baby food stuff. She eats all the fruits and veggies of course. Some of the chicken and rice is made with rice flour but you have to look at the ingredients. Wagon wheels are gluten free! I keep those in the diaper bag for while we are out. They...
  10. Our GI said no Gluten for the first year! So that is what we are going with. There is research supporting both theories but I don't think anyone knows for sure. That being said Maddie is only 3 weeks away from turning one and I am so scared to give her gluten. She has never had it before and is doing so well without it. I know she will have to try...
  11. Thank you for the updates. I will be in prayer all day for this sweet baby girl.
  12. I am sorry your baby is sick. Most likely he picked up the virus when you went to the doctors. I can however relate to you with having a sick baby. It took us 5 months to figure out Maddie is allergic to both milk and soy. They put her on Elecare/Neocate and now she can tolerate small amounts of Nutramigen. I am starting to give her a bottle of that...
  13. I usually eat the queso and feel fine other than the whole milk thing. I know that don pablos has queso on their gluten-free menu!
  14. I was sick just about the whole nine months. I took Zolfran I had no idea it wasn't gluten-free! Maybe that is why I was so sick
  15. Like the other women said keep at it. I bet she learns how once she gets a little older. I have problems with my supply too but I have been able to keep my baby mainly on breastmilk for 10 months now. I do use formula on occasion but that started a whole battle of problems with her so I don't recommend doing that unless you have too. I hope your baby...
  16. Thank you so much! Last week I got my menu from your list and it was all a BIG hit in my family. Thanks
  17. Would rice milk be okay to give a one year old instead of formula, milk or soy milk? I am weaning my daughter in a month she will be one and I don't know what to give her at that point.
  18. Maddie tolerates Nutramigen okay but couldn't until she was 8 months old.
  19. I am short only 5' but I wasn't diagnosed until I was in my mid-twenty's. I think it is from Celiac I never had symptoms until I was in high school and then I started getting sick. Went to tons of doctors but no one figured it out until 10 years later. I think it is too late for me to grow now but it looks like you caught your son's in time. I hope he...
  20. This has been a big hit in our family for generations This is the original recipe with a vanilla wafer crust. I made a crust with Pamela's gluten-free mix yesterday and it turned out really good. So substitute your favorite gluten-free pie crust or wafer like cookies Lemon Icebox Pie 1 can of condensed milk 1/3 cup sugar 3 eggs 3 large...
  21. Thanks I am glad that Tony is better now. That must have been really scary. Maddie has gained 5 oz so that is good and they just told me to limit her water intake to 8 oz a day. I guess she is just slowing way down in growing. She has only gained 5 oz in 3 months. Everyone says she is just going to be small like me but I think I am small from Celiac...
  22. wow thanks. I called the doctor and they want me to bring her in tomorrow and get her weight checked. I feel like I am being over paranoid but then something about it just isn't setting right with me either. I hope I am wrong and she is just thirsty from the heat Tony's mom how did you know something was wrong with your son? Did his symptoms get...
  23. Just curious, my little girl is 10 months old and drinks water all day long. She drinks about 12-15oz a day of just water. She does eat fine and seems to be healthy but she looks like she is loosing weight to me now too. She may just be thinning out from crawling so much or maybe getting taller. I think I am worrying about nothing but diabetes does run...
  24. Thanks I am going to go and check what kind of surup we have. I hope you can all get better quickly now that you know
