Don't feel bad.... I am a firefighter. We make our own meals (as a group) at the station. I get harassed daily (in a loving manner of course) about my "dietary needs." I guess this is more of a venting on my part....but I was diagnosed by enterolab this month. Here's my gripe. I have no intestinal symptoms. I only have DH "like" symptoms on my scalp; NO WHERE ELSE!. Only my scalp. I have been on a gluten-free diet for two months with pretty damn good results. I still have the occasional "blister" here or there. But it has... -
I too have a severe reaction to Kahlua. And yes, I understand that it is supposed to be gluten-free. But guess what ....It jacks me up. Tangueray Gin does me the same way. I think I am going to stick with Rum and Red Wine.

I spoke with a lady on the phone from uncle ben's rice. She stated that the uncle ben's gluten-free list includes Spanish rice. They said that they are removing it from the list as of today due to CC issues. She said that they will be changing thier mailing list very soon and appologized for any confusion. -

I thought the biopsy was useless, because she did not even consider doing a biopsy for DH using immunoflouresence. She said that test was "very expensive" , and didn't want to utilize it at first. Are all "clear" rums that are not spiced rums all gluten-free? or just certain brands? Bacardi especially (my fav)? Seems like my DH goes a lil' bit haywire after I drink it...... but goes away very quickly

I always heard that chocolate companies will tell you that there are no gluten ingredients in thier chocolate, but not realize that thier products contain Gluten innadvertantly due to the chocolate being poured and transpoted at the factory on flour coated belt lines (to prevent sticking).... anyone have any further info on this? -

Okay, my dermatologist saw my rash and thought it might be something other than DH. My mom is Celiac, and a gluten-free diet totaly helps with my rash. Here's where it gets technical... I called Centrum, they said that thier multivitamins ARE made without gluten,,,but they come into contact with other Gluten containing products at the factory. Wild Oats Market make a multivitiman that actually says gluten free on the FRONT of the laber..(very clear)... no more label hunting!! =) -
