  1. Well said. And it seems like people aren't willing to let it go. I thought we were on to discussing products and reactions.
  2. I would vote for the truffle hunting pigs. They root it out, dig it up and then when we can have it packaged and sent out of Racjelville for like $100 a pound because the rest of the world seems to like fungi. Or we could hire "The Yeastie Boys" to sing them away. Mango- It's so nice to "see" you! You look beautiful in your new avatar!
  3. Welcome amanda and everyone new! I spent the first three months of the diet eating peanut butter and rice because it was so much to figure out! It was the longest learning curve I've experienced, but I can say this board helped SO MUCH!
  4. Here's the link: Open Original Shared Link You Might Be Celiac If.....
  5. Lisa- What? You don't eat toilet paper? What's wrong with you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't find any good gluten-free, soy free crackers so I use it for cheese!
  6. YES! It doesn't gluten in it but it has some really bad effects on people. MSG stands for monosodium glutamate. I think (not sure) that it's a flavor enhancer and some people get very ill from it. A lot of Chinese foods (not that I eat them anymore) have MSG in them and on menus or advertisements you will sometimes see MSG Free.
  7. :P :P I found this abstract on PubMed: AIM: To study the brain-gut interaction and the effect of behavioral or psychiatric conditions on irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) in an African population. METHODS: IBS was diagnosed using the Rome II diagnostic criteria. The entry of each patient was confirmed following detailed explanations of the questions...
  8. Ok - this thread needs a competition for cutest cat, #1. PSawyer and sillyyakdidi, your cats are so cute. I actually was pretty disturbed almostnrn by this: "According to the Clan Thompson list the following products are NOT gluten free: Angel Soft Toilet Paper, Brawny Paper Towels, Mardi Gras Napkins and Paper towels, Quilted Northern Toilet Paper, Soft...
  9. That's pretty interesting. Actually, I used to have horrible panic attacks and I had my first one driving over a bridge. After that I was bridge-phobic and couldn't drive over any bridge without having a full-blown anxiety attack. I had no choice but to conquer it (I would even have them while on medication) when I moved to San Francisco and had to drive...
  10. Welcome Srokie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It REALLY is a good place. Your story sounds a lot like mine. My symptoms started about 6 months after my mom died and got progressively worse over the course of that year. In my 3rd year in my PhD program (Yeah guys- THANKS FOR ALL THAT RANKING ON PHD'S IN OTHER THREADS :P ) I was so sick I almost dropped out. Luckily...
  11. Actually, I'm trying to figure out if there's a relationship between mood swings/irritability and constipation. I get horifically irritable if I don't go.....I started a thread and am finding that others have this experience too. You might want to check it out: Open Original Shared Link I put this is in the behavior section because this is where neuro...
  12. i love you guys! Only here can I talk about my turd sidewaysness! :P I did find some interesting (not very scientific but food for thought) info in a google search: Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link
  13. OK- this is starting to make se sense. I am not hostile either but I've been acting that way toward hubby and just have no patience for anyone but hubby is getting the brunt of it because he's the one I see the most. I would think my meds had pooped out, but I'm not like this EVERY day. But far too often lately.
  14. You want to go into Your Controls and change your AVATAR. I'm not sure why this is the term for it, but the avatar is the photo that shows up under your user name. Hope this helps!
  15. BA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is hilarious! Uhm..Ok..maybe I'll try taking the Miralax for awhile before changing depression meds. I've definitely been acting like I have a "turd crossways" I just read this on a website and thought I'd share for giggles: When the colon is clean, we experience feelings of well-being, good health...
  16. Exactly. And I know when I first went gluten-free, I thought it was in EVERYTHING (I mean, I know it is ) but I was a little overly exuberant and got attacked on several occasions. I wasn't correct- my information was indeed wrong- but I was posting what I had heard and read in an effort to do what I thought was something helpful-trying to prevent another...
  17. Oh my God- I'm so glad you guys replied. I was about to go back and edit the post and elaborate a little. OK- So, here's what I'm trying to figure out. I have a tendency toward clinical depression (I'm on medication) and I'm trying to figure out if my meds have pooped out (pardon the intentional pun). But it's not my normal depression symptoms (anxiety...
  18. Totally valid to question, it just seemed like some of the posts were jumping all over her harshly. And as always, it seems that some people just start jumping in for the "fun" of being abusive. I love this board and the people on it, it just boggles my mind when there is so much drama that there needn't be.
  19. I have been incredibly irritable. I mean, pardon my French, psycho-hose beast from hell, irritable. I'm trying to examine a couple of potential causes and I'm wondering if this could be one of them. I won't go into detail too m uch but today was the first time I went in quite awhile and I feel markedly less irritable. It would really help me to...
  20. I am realy disappointed that the way I found out about Srokie's threads and the attacks on her was because my inbox was full of people reporting posts. This whole thing is really lame. Yes, I said lame. It's fine to doubt someone's identity, doctor's advice, hearsay information, but just to refresh your memories, IT's A VERY LONG LEARNING CURVE. And...
  21. I hope it goes OK, my condolencesa again. We'll try to find something to crack you up for when you get back.
  22.  Rusla- you kill me!
  23. But that's why we LOVE you! This part cracked me up: "When it was practically extinguished, the body was found at the foot of the stairs, and was burnt beyond recognition. The flesh was charred and dried to a crisp, making it dangerous to handle the remains, for fear that the joints would fall apart." THAT WAS THEIR BIGGEST FEAR?
  24. Dude- That is one gnarly story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But the writing is so funny. I can't believe how descriptive they got.
  25. OMG! That video needs to be shown to EVERY man in the world! I love the warm, soapy water with a drop of vanilla essence. I may actually try that!
