  1. Also FYI, their Rice Crust pizza and Mac 'n Cheese are produced in a dedicated facility. I have reacted to their other products. They are a very aware and responsible company, IMO, which is why they changed their labeling.
  2. Oh Angie- that's brutal. I had a year like that. My mom, my uncle, my friend's brother and dad all in a row (like within 6 months of each other- all cancer). It was brutal! I'm so sorry. Lay's potato chips Reese's pb Cups Butterfingers Nutella (so so so so so good) carrots and hummus Anything by Enjoy Life (their snickerdoodle cookies rock!) apples...
  3. Yes- used to have them all the time before going gluten-free. Now I only have them when I am glutened.
  4. YOU"RE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yippee! And you have mojo to share. Send it my way!
  5.   That's AWESOME! After I flush it all away, can I go lie on a warm beach somehwhere?
  6. OMG- I just want to dope slap them! At least they could admit they don't quite know what gluten is (sorry- I'm cranky today ) Yes- corn and potato are grains but the ONLY grains that contain gluten are wheat, rye, barley and oats (only because they are cross-contaminated). So if the potatoes don't have wheat then they ARE gluten-free unless they...
  7. You guys are so sweet!  She (the doc) basically explained to me that once you've had it (mono EBV) it lays dormant and your system and when you are run-down you can get active symptoms again. So basically, it's just a virus caused by seriously being run down. I finally feel like I am waking up a bit today and I'm more hungry...
  8. Thank you all. Too bad Patti and I can't hole up at some spa in the desert and recover together! Laura- I looked up CMV. Yikes!
  9. I saw them at Shaw's in North Beverly on Dodge Street and Whole foods in Swampscott. We should start a gluten-free product barter system. "I'll get you Casabe crackers if you get me (insert favorite gluten-free food here)"
  10. Laura- What is CMV? Thanks for all your good wishes! School is not back in session until the 16th (university) so I can sleep until then.
  11. She couldn't but based on my symptoms, she made the diagnosis. I've always thought you could only have it once, but that's not the case. It's actually a variation of the Epstein-Barr virus and they think that recurring mono may be what's behind chronic fatigue syndrome. I'll tell ya, the last time I was this tired was before I went gluten-free.
  12. I saw them at a Shaw's in Massachusetts last week as well. I love 'em!
  13. Well, as some of you know I haven't been doing so hot for the last ten days. Right after I finished school, I became extremely exhausted. I woke up on Friday December 21st and was so tired I tripped over the furball in my avatar and crashed into my VERY hard bureau. We thought it was a reaction to some trigger point injections I'd had. I was sort of up and...
  14. I'm with Kaycee- the "threshold" in Europe is 200 ppm and I have reacted to 33 ppm. I will occasionally chance it with facility but definitely not shared equipment.
  15. MommaGoose- I'm sorry- that stinks! My biggest surprise was Tropicana Lemonade. I don't know if thye've changed their ingredients but at one point, after getting very sick, I read that they would only guarantee that products from 2 of their plants would not contain gluten! Even if they haven't changed their processing, I wouldn't buy their products again...
  16. She's a smart cookie! Glad to hear she's resting comfortably! We love you Patti!
  17. Just heard that all went well. No details but she's in recovery! Patti- I can keep you company in your convalescence as i am down with some bogus virus! They think it's a relapse of mono. UGH! No vacumning for me either. Kurt and mark can exchange housekeeping secrets Get lots of rest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We love you, B
  18. I made this last night and it was yum yum yummy! Can't wait to eat the leftovers! Spicy Beef and Cornbread Cobbler 1 medium onion, chopped 4 tablespoons vegetable oil 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped 1 lb ground beef chuck 1 teaspoon sugar 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon cayenne 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice 1/4 teaspoon black pepper ...
  19. Thanks mouse, that's what I figured but I wanted to be sure she hadn't gotten worse!
  20. Just wanted to start a thread where everyone could post good thoughts, prayers, whatever you wish for Patti as she is having major surgery. And when she comes back she needs a thread to remind her that yes, even though we all know her husband doesn't vacumn as well as her, she can't do it! WE LOVE YOU PATTI!
  21. I am worried. I sent her snail mail awhile back but hven't heard from her in quite awhile.
  22. OMG- That video is so New England where I live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love we may be vanilla but our labs are chocolate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. This is a good point too as my doc told me that for many women, after pregnancy, things like panic attacks and migraines often go away.
  24. laura- You didn't hijack the thread at all. I TOTALLY agree with you. It's NOT all about money. In fact, my doctor prefers to prescribe as little as possible. He told me the statistics after my second episode, not as a way to scare me, but to educate me. I know he was not trying to instill fear in me at all and yes, medication DID give me my life back. ...
