  1. I was told by my pregnant daughter in law that her doctor and a very good doctor said that B6 is one of the best things for morning sickness. You never know it might work for you.

    ARCHIVED Gerd?

I don't really seem to get the heartburn that people talk about, mine is more chest pain and discomfort. Sort of like I am filled with gas and it has nowhere to go! Sometimes I think I am having a heartattack but apparently my heart is fine according to my stress test and ekg. I have been on Nexium for 8 months and I want to get off of it, but it seems that...
  3. Wow, thanks for the info, I think I am going to ask to be tested.
  4. It may be a silly question but what is all this Elias testing that people talk about. When I tried to look it up online it was all about HIV. Thanks

    ARCHIVED Gerd?

Does anyone suffer from gerd? What are you taking for it? Could celiacs be behind a gerd diagnosis? Thanks
  6. Has anyone been prescribed Nexium for any of your symptoms? I was given Nexium to help with the upper gastro----burping and I don't think it's helping and yet I feel much worse without it. I was wondering if there could be withdrawal sympotms with the nexium. Thanks
  7. [Hi Trish, I don't know the name of any good doctors anywhere in Ontario. I did just have an endoscopy and I am still waiting for the results. I don't know what Toronto is like but Waterloo is horrid to try and find one. I would ask your family doctor to refer you to a GI guy and it may take a long time, I waited for 5 months to get in to see one. The...
  8. I heard on Oprah that it should be shaped like an S..... what the heck does that mean? Terch
  9. Hi Andrea and Fiddle Faddle, I have eliminated gluten, dairy, and soy from my diet. I am pretty confident that I have eliminated all gluten as I am only eating fresh veggies, rice, salads and chicken. I am cooking the food all on my own and not using any sauces on my food. I am also using the gluten free Renee's dressing which I believe is only available...
  10. Hi, I have a question about this thread. If you all have had negative scopes and or no scopes and your family doctors don't agree that you have celiacs or gluten intolerance how did you manage to stay on the diet for so long? I always thought I was a patient person and this is week three for me gluten-free and I see no improvement as yet. So how do I know...
  11. Are these white flakes underneath the nail bed or are they right on the nail itself? Thanks
  12. Hi, I also identify with you in wanting this to be Celiacs! If this isn't Celiacs then I don't know where to go from here. I had a bit of a pity party last night and told hubby that I don't think I can handle this much longer. I feel worn out with it and find everything an effort, even washing my hair has become a challenge. I am irritable as all hell...
  13. Hi, I noticed you asked this question a while ago but thought I would respond anyway. It took me 5 months to get into to see a GI guy and he booked the endoscopy a month from the date of my appt with him. I see him in next week for my results. It's been 5 weeks since the endoscopy and I just started Gluten free these last two weeks because I couldn't...
  14. Hi, I was given a B12 by my naturopath that dissolves under the tongue. She gave it to me as my B12 was non existent but I always react badly to shots as well as any other B12 vitamins I have taken. I don't have any problems with this one and it is gluten free. And is vegetarian friendly! It does not contain soy or dairy or eggs. It's called NOW BRAIN...
  15. I was wondering if there have been any Canadians that have used the lab? If so, what company did you use to ship the sample? And, did your doctor's here recognize the test results? Thank you. Terch
  16. I was wondering when you all started to feel better after going gluten free? I have been gluten free for two weeks and see my doctor in two weeks. I am not noticing any improvement yet, maybe a few good days the first week and that's it. I also have a lot of upper gi discomfort, ie chest pain and tightness and feeling very full or very hungry even whenI know...
  17. I find that I am pretty good in the morning, stomach, energy etc. but as the day goes it gets worse. It doesn't seem to matter what I eat for dinner even plain white rice I get gassy and gurgling and just plain uncomfortable. Thanks
  18. It's true never assume! I was just hoping that at least he didn't find anything horribly sinister. I have an appt with him 2 weeks and I am arming myself with a lot information from this site. Thanks
  19. Hi, I am in Waterloo Ontario. I was wondering if you had the endoscopy? I had one 3 weeks ago and still haven't heard anything. Also, I was interested in trying Enterolab but wasn't sure about it since I live in Canada. What courier service did you use? And how expensive was it? Also what tests did you decide to get? Sorry for all the questions, just excited...
  20. Since I had my endoscopy 3 weeks ago and no call from the doctor should I presume that he found nothing wrong with me?
  21. Hi, I had the endoscopy 3 weeks ago and it was a breeze, and this is from a person that practically has to take valium to get my teeth cleaned. You will be fine. Good Luck! [
  22. Hi, I think things in Canada are very different than in the United States. We have to wait a lot longer for results. Funny thing is that for ultrasounds and such it's 3 days. I know for most blood tests it's around two weeks. I think it's very good that your doctor even tested you for that. I waited 6 months to get into a GI specialist and he didn't do...
  23. Hi Carla, Thank you so much for responding. It's so odd since I have the bruising and I am also suffering from adrenal fatigue. My Naturopath said that my adrenal glands are completely depleted! I didn't know if that was a real thing or not. I am sorry that you have been under so much stress for the past few years. It's not easy dealing with stress at...
  24. Hi, I am so grateful I found this site! I had an endoscopy 3 weeks ago and don't get into to see the doctor until the 13th of October. I waited until after the scope to start gluten free and have been on it faithfully for 2 weeks and still feel lousy. I am not sure that I have celiacs but I do know that he was going to biopsy my small intestine to test...
