  6. You will also need to get a new chopping board, wooden spoons, pasta strainer, anything that is porous including non stick pans & cast Iron skillets - the gluten gets in there & stays until it comes in contact with your food. Just to let you know it took me a couple of years to believe I had to get rid of my cast iron skillet. Because I was mostly...

  11. well your meal does not even sound good. I knew a gluten-free guy that had a boring diet. He almost cried when I started taking him lunches & pie etc. Lifted him right out of his food depression. Maybe what you need is a menu overhaul. I love all my meals & would rather have them that eat out. & I do eat out a lot sometimes - I work &...
  12. yes, I love dogtorj & I agree with all his writings - too bad he is treating dogs & not kids - but I am sure he is healping many people... quote from your thread: "Would a gluten-free diet be considered a "grain free" diet? I used potato, tapioca, rice, sorghum, corn flours. She is so much happier with some bread and treats. She does eat corn...
  13. welcome to the world of me & my family - double DQ1. First most people that have a biopsy do not get a gene test. Second if they do get a gene test they test thru a lab that only tests for DQ2 & DQ8, you will never know if you have a DQ1 or DQ3 or any of the other ones. When I tested at Enterolab I think they were only one of two labs in...

  17. well I am not in a great frame of mind since I just spent the day at a nursing home watching all these little old ladies eating gluten slop three times a day. Well their food might be one teeny little step above slop, but not much. I might be able to save my friend but I am afraid all the other women are doomed - & believe me a lot of them are classic...
  18. Joint pain should go away once you are gluten free. You might also need to be dairy & soy free. You might also try not drinking orance juice - it is bad on the joints. Okay to eat an orange... 100% welch's grape juice diluted is one of my favorites. Some people also find that they need to be mostly grain free. I feel much better grain free....

It is important...
