  1. Thanks Rachel and Jin for your advice on research. My plan was to talk with this dentist tomorrow and not necessarily start the removal unless it was best and he had a detox plan that seemed sensible. I have read up on detox protocols for after removal, but nothing about prior to removal. So that's what I'll do today...attempt to educate myself on that aspect...
  2. I called the dentist today and got an appointment for Wednesday afternoon. I'm glad they were able to get me in quickly. The more I read about these things, the sooner I want them out of my mouth....the sooner the better. She said that he could do the consultation and start on removing them the same day. She said they have a device that can test each tooth...
  3. Rachel, I am in Texas, the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, so Denton is do-able. If it's not too much trouble I'd like more info on that doctor. I also found an LLMD in the area. Her name is Audrey Stein-Goldings M.D. I'm going to do some more research into this doctor as well. As Carla has mentioned I'd rather know about Lyme now if it's an issue. I have been...
  4. Hi Carla and thanks for the welcome. You had posted the mercury free dentist link in response to another one of my posts. Thanks! That's where I found the dentist that is close to me. I'm calling him Monday to get an appointment. I was going to call on Friday, but they are closed on Friday's. I checked the Lyme symptoms from another one of your posts as well...
  5. Hi Rachel. Thanks for the welcome. I'll be anxious to read about your progress and hope it works well for you. Ami
  6. Hi everyone. Can I join in the discussion here? There is great information on mercury here (among other things!). I'm really starting to believe that is part of my problem. I first went gluten free and felt GREAT. I thought wow this has been the problem all along. Then I started having other food intolerances and was very disappointed. I have been reading...
  7. Thanks Carla for the response and information. Did your doctor perform the six hour provoked urine test? If so, what type of doctor. I really want to be tested for this and trying to figure out the best way to go about it. Ami
  8. The more I read the 'OMG' thread and The Lyme Disease Thread the more curious I have become about heavy metal toxicity. I have been gluten free for about 9 months. I do feel better, but seem to be having more and more food intolerance issues. So I feel like there's more wrong than just gluten. I do have silver fillings from long ago. I also used to eat tuna...
  9. The below information came from the mission website. I was eating mission brand corn tortillas. So cc could have been an issue, but they are not made with wheat intentionally. I haven't eaten them in months though so they aren't an issue for me anymore. These were the first thing I noticed causing me problems. There were many other corn products afterwards...
  10. I was at the movies with my kids the other day and I ate 2 of their Starbursts. I have checked to make sure they are gluten free before. It was almost immediately after I ate them that I became unbelievably tired. I could not stay awake! Then for the next 2 days I felt like I had been glutened I'm just wondering if there are any other food intolerances I...
  11. We are going to Gatlinburg in July and we're staying in a cabin where we'll have a full kitchen. I wanted to buy some gluten-free food once we get there, but not familiar with the area. Ami
  12. I should clarify. I was only trying to find out why I've been nauseated, cold, having no appetite, tingling, numb hands and fatigued. I was diagnosed with Hypothroidism back in 1999 and have been taking Armour since then. I wanted to make sure that my levels for that were still ok. I get them checked every 3-6 months. I also eat a gluten free diet already...
  13. The more I've thought about this I think it's stress related. I have never had anxiety that I know of, but I think that's what's going on now. I'm getting married in less than a month (7/7/07). I have a very stressful job. I also have a very stressful ex-husband that has just reappeared in my life to reclaim visitation rights to our children that he hasn...
  14. I got a call back from the nurse and that's what she said. She said that my doctor would recommend an MRI and/or neck xray if the symptoms continue. Now I feel like I'm imagining it. I have been having numb, tingling feelings in my hands, cold all the time, my skin feels cold to the touch even when no one else is cold (my husband has commented on this), loss...
  15. When my B12 was low before I went to the office 3 weeks in a row to get a shot. I never could really tell a difference. Then all these symptoms have started after the shots. It was about 2 months ago when I had the shots. It will be interesting to see what the blood work results indicate. Ami
  16. I just read an article which I posted about and it states that during World War II Willem Dicke, a Dutch medical student, figured out the connection. Dicke had been treating a group of chronically ill children whom no diagnosis seemed to fit. He noticed that during the war the children mysteriously recovered. After the war, these same children developed debilitating...
  17. I have looked for it online, but can't seem to find it. Dr. Guandalini has contributed to the article and it mentions this website for support. Here's a link to the hospital where he practices Open Original Shared Link I wish I could find the article online to share with you. My father in law brought it over to me. Ami
  18. I had been feeling better since going gluten free and finally figuring out I'm corn intolerant as well. Now I'm having some weird symptoms again. I'm cold all the time, but was giving it some time as I am hypothyroid and been on Armour since 1999. I was hoping it was just some weird phase and it would correct itself. In addition to this my hands have been...
  19. So in your opinion, since my oldest son has elevated antigliadin IgA antibodies and the gene that would predispose him to celiac, is that enough to warrant gluten free for life? From what I've learned over the past 6 months I think so. I would just like to hear what you all think too. I only tested them because I had such a positive response to the diet....
  20. So does that mean that every non-Asian person has the tendency to become gluten intolerant according to Dr. Fine? And does this differ with others beliefs. I guess I need to do more research. Ami
  21. My 8 year old's results. It seems he just has the gene which would predispose him to gluten intolerance. Fecal Antigliadin IgA 8 (Normal Range <10 Units) Fecal Antitissue Transglutaminase IgA 5 Units (Normal Range <10 Units) Quantitative Microscopic Fecal Fat Score <300 Units (Normal Range <300 Units) Fecal anti-casein (cow...
  22. 2-1/2 years ago I broke my ankle and shattered the radial head in my elbow roller skating. This was long before I knew about celiac. But, now I wonder if it is related at all. I ended up having to have a plate and 6 pins in my ankle and a titanium spacer in my elbow. I asked my ortho surgeon if I had a bone density problem and he simply said 'no, there is...
  23. Lynne, I develop financial software for a large financial corporation. I used to love it, but the IT industry has changed and isn't what it used to be. I've been doing this for 12 years. I would really like to change professions, but not sure what I want to be when I grow up My fiance owns his own business and I admire him so much for what he does. If...
  24. For me ingesting gluten causes severe fatigue. I recently figured out that corn was doing the same thing. Maybe he has some other food intolerances as well. Good luck in determining the source. I found it to be such a hassle trying to figure it all out. Ami
  25. Initially, I just cut out corn tortillas and corn on the cob. This was where the biggest source of corn was coming from for me. Then one day I noticed I felt very fatigued after I ate a Lifesaver mint that one of my coworkers offered me. I looked up the ingredients and it had corn syrup in it. So now I stay away from corn syrup too. Ami
