  1. Hi!!! I live in Oregon near you and wanted to say hi!!!

  2. If this really is gall bladder, add your lemon juice to a couple of tablespoons of oil (expeller pressed is best) this will result in a gall bladder flush. Repeat a couple of times each day for a week or so.
  3. I wrote a reply but don't know what happened to it. It was long and complex. Anyway. I have had this same problem for 20 years only just a few times. Back in 1989 the doc wanted to remove my gall bladder and I did not, still have it today and it is fine. The problem is with the large bowel, which has a section that goes across the top of your abdomen under...
  4. I would really like to meet other people in the Albany/Corvallis Oregon area. I am active and have eaten gluten-free and cooked for a gluten-free family for 20 years. Would love to help out newbies with questions or share life or food experiences with others who are gluten-free.

  6. Give it a break gals, you're making this much harder than it needs to be! The put it and pat it woman had the best idea so far I mix together 1/2 cup sweet rice flour (found at asian stores) 1/4 cup corn starch 1/2 cup tapioca flour 1/2 tsp xanthan gum 1/2 tsp salt 1/3 cup butter, or butter flavor crisco after these are all mixed together well add...
  7. I didn't read the other answers to your problems, but I will quickly tell you what worked for me. I am 50 yrs old and have known I had celiac for about 20yrs, and I have had, and sometimes still have, the exact skin problems you describe. I was told by a dermatologist that I had Rosacea and was given a topical antibiotic with an alchohol base in an aplicator...
  8. A lot of what you use for lunches will be dependent on where you live and what resources are available to you. Where I live we have Fred Meyers Health Food section and a few different Health Food stores and a great Health Food Cooperative...we also live within close travel to Trader Joes and other Health Food stores. My grandchildren take fruit, jello...
  9. This is July 19th in the evening, and I hope your mother can still benefit from another reply. I just got on here after a long time, and this is the first time I've seen this call for help. I am 50 years old, my mother is 77. We have known for about 20 years that ourselves and most of our family, possibly even my late father, are Celiac The way we found...

  12. There are thousands of ingredients in our foods that are not legally required to be on the labels. Also, I think it is wise for us to be especially aware of eating nutritionally sound foods. I used to have a few recipes for things that turned out like cheetos, only home made and wholesome....can't find them now, but I'm sure you could go online and...
  13. Wow...I think you're over most of our heads with this kind of urgent medical intervention. What I've observed is that without doctor's orders, it is nearly impossible to get a special diet. So the key would probably be to locate a doctor that would listen and help....does their insurance cover a natural doctor, or could you maybe contact someone elsewhere...
  14. Kevin Trudeau's book "Natural Cures They Don't Want You To Know About" he says there are thousands of ingredients that do not legally have to be put on the label as ingredients! I've read this in other places too, and intend to do some research to discover what these ingredients are and why they are not put on labels. This sort of thing puts folks like...

  17. Amber Don't bother with the tests for celiac disease....I think the medical community is making a killing off testing and retesting... I and my family don't have health insurance, so we "test" ourselves....we just stopped eating gluten for about 3 months, strictly. We know it is celiac disease because, first other members of the family had it and it is...
  18. " I think the stomach ache I had was because i ate too quickly. " I've found with me and my family that our gluten reaction is not always immediate. Remember, this is not just an allergy, and the glutenating of our insides sometimes takes days, weeks even to show up. When we have sections of our intestine that are irritated, we may not really note...
  19. Sorry you've been through so much. My daughter was on swim team in Moscow Idaho in Middle School when we found out that the rash she had was from gluten. My mother nearly died and was down to 80 lbs from her usual hefty self, she was being fed intraveineously. When we realized that our health problems were related to gluten, we stopped it immediately....
  20. Also, brownies are always easy and pleasy...or cake For Brownies you can use any regular flour recipe and this flour mixture to replace gluten flour: 2 1/2 cups (finely ground) sweet rice flour (any rice flour will do, brown, white, etc) 3/4 cup Potato starch flour 1/2 cup corn starch (you can use most bean flours here too) 1/4 cup tapioca flour ...
  21. I've posted my cut out cookies recipes in a couple of places and people seem to like them. They are great for holidays or you can use the dough in one of those cookie presses to make little tea cookies with a dollup of jam in the center or what ever your imagination conjures up. They sound difficult, but really, I just set out two big bowls and throw the...
  22. I am in Albany Oregon and must drive to Salem or Eugene to attend a support group....and don't seem to get emails back from the one closest to me in Salem......I think the other salem group that responded to me said it would be ok for me to attend their meetings.....but we all need to get busy creating more support groups. Food is like language, it is a...

  24. Hello Sorry, I'm not in Idaho, but I went to college there in Moscow, BS School of Communications 1994. I lived there when I learned I had celiac disease.....hard to find resources there...you'll probably have to order them over the internet or from a local expensive place. Good luck to you...
