  1. Hi all, I'm still trying to figure out what's going on beyond gluten. I've eliminated gluten, wheat, dairy, corn, soy, (and all other starches), chocolate, and refined sugar. I'm still eating eggs and nuts. This may just be a matter of time since I'm only three months into it. But a friend of mine just went to an allergist and found out she...
  2. Are you eating soy?
  3. If roasted and/or salted nuts had gluten in them, wouldn't the ingredients have to say that in some way? Or is it cross-contamination in the factory where they are roasted and salted?
  4. Flowergirl sent me over to this thread and it's been incredibly helpful to read through all your responses here! It took me a long time to figure out that the probiotics I'd been taking were upsetting my stomach -- I kept thinking, this can't be! These are supposed to help! I took them for months and it never got better. I switched to yoghurt, but because...
  5. Flowergirl -- thank you thank you! I'll keep you posted! Several days now without soy or corn and I do feel better. But, BORING! No chocolate, no starch of any kind, no sugar unless it's in fruit and not too much of that. I stand in front of the fridge and laugh -- what can I eat in here? And then I go to the pantry and do the same thing. ...
  6. NancyM and Flowergirl -- how do you make the coconut kefir? I started to google about it and wasn't sure where to start. One site said YOUNG coconut kefir -- is that the same? Is there somewhere you buy the ingredients? Is it possible to buy this stuff pre-made anywhere? Thanks so much!
  7. I'm so sorry how frustrating this is! I hear you! After being dairy and gluten-free for three months, I'm starting to drop out other things -- soy, corn, rice, potatoes, sugar, etc. The week after I went gluten-free everything was back to normal, but then the symptoms all came back. I realize i've been eating a lot more nuts and chocolate since going...
  8. I'd like to know how many people made up for the lack of gluten food by eating more chocolate! I was never a big chocolate eater UNTIL I had to cut out dairy and gluten -- and then gradually I became a dark chocolate fiend. Now I'm wondering if the soy lecithin or sugar in the chocolate is causing problems. Would love to hear other people's experiences...
  9. Oh man, thanks SO much you all! It's so helpful to hear from other folks! Please keep passing along your experiences as you're able -- it's a huge gift!
  10. I'm so glad I just found this site. I went gluten-free three months ago, had been off dairy for at least six months before that. Following birth of my son, I had rotavirus, mastitis, antibiotics, exhaustion, sleep-deprivation and a lot of emotional stress -- I think it triggered latent celiac disease (had trouble with conception and IUGR in pregnancy...
  11. I'm glad I found this site -- I'm in the exact same spot. I went gluten-free three months ago, had been off dairy for at least six months before that. Following birth of my son, I had rotavirus, mastitis, antibiotics, exhaustion, sleep-deprivation and a lot of emotional stress -- I think it triggered a more latent celiac disease. So for the last two years...
