  1. There had been some of the big D passing through my family, first with the boys, then hubby now me. They all had it for maybe a day or two, and it was just the D, no "down time." So, it hit me last Saturday, and I'm STILL sick. I've had the D, just a little here and there, stomach bloating, cramps, gurgles, nausea, and exaustion. So here it is Thursday...
  2. When your family doctor looks at you like "oh no! not diareah lady again!" When your GI doctor who gave you your DX says "oh don't worry its not genetic"
  3. Thats what I heard also, so I took the chance. I think I just got to cozy with this disease and needed a good kick in the butt. Anyhow, I'm posative you can get glutened this way. When your showering your getting the water in your mouth and eyes. Plus I'm a horrible nail biter, I have open hangnails all the time. I also used to use a toothpaste before...
  4. Nope, its the intense hydrator, it has hydrolized wheat starch, and hydrolized wheat protein in it That is really good to know about the other one, I almost bought that one, so I'm going to trade this one in for the reconstruct, I really like the joico products alot. Thanks julie

    ARCHIVED Chili's

Every time we head up there to eat they never have the baked potato soup! No Fair! I usually get the margarita lime chicken with no tortilla strips, its pretty tasty.
  6. Ok, in almost 10 months being diagnosed I've had my first "product" glutening. I bought this awesome conditioner for my hair, the k-pak the best I've ever used. It only took two times using it over a span of four days, today I woke up like I hadn't slept at all. I knew for sure I had been glutened when I was through my first cup of coffee, and I still...
  7. Ha ha ha!!! 1. Reading Labels every day of my friggin life!!! 2. WTH is the natural flavoring? 3. Calling 800 numbers in the grocery store 4. Explaining it to people, and they still don't get it (deer in the headlights) 5. Walking by Cinnabon, or that pretzel place in the mall 6. Eating something I don't even want just because its...
  8. I'm actually in salem also, and as you know there are only two places to eat in this town! Once a month or so I make it up to portland to eat somewhere else, its like my little treat....I've been to Pasta Ricos 5 times since I was dx, they have awesome pizza! I like the outback, but it does get a tad old sometimes....
  9. Yesterday we found a new place to eat, and to my suprise the whole menu was gluten free! The whole menu, even cheescakes, tortes, and ice cream for dessert. So, if you live in Portland, Oregon or anywhere near there go check it out. Its Corbett Fish House (hopefully you dig seafood).. It was very good, and the prices were reasonable. Also it was the first...
  10. Well, thanks for all the reminders of how rediculously unessesary gluten can be! I don't get why malt has to be used in EVERY CEREAL! And many, many other things, sheetrock mud, jeez I never heard that one
  11. Leftovers for lunch are a must! I always make alot more dinner than we need, and I eat on it the next day or longer depending on what it is. My husband loves to throw leftovers away without consulting me first. It took me almost 2 months to get it through to him that he's literally taking food out of my mouth! If I'm super busy and crunched for time at...
  12. Thanks for the response. I had a biopsy shortly after I was diagnosed, and my liver is perfectly fine. Also aside from celiac I have no other conditions, and I was worked up the wazoo before they found the celiac. I read that you can't have cancer, diabetes, heart disease, or aids of course. I'm just racking my brain, there are a few more family members...
  13. Hi, I've been around here for awhile and I know there is alot of knowledge on this site. Basically, I am really freeking out here. My mother is going in for a liver biopsy next week, she has ascites (really bad) and all kinds of other problems. She is an alcoholic, but has stopped drinking. Ascites is a pretty good sign that cirrhosis is nearing and end...

    ARCHIVED Angry Boy!

I'm not really new here, (FKA jules). Anyhow, my oldest son (9) has had behavioral problems since kindergarden. The schools have tested him, for a wide variety of things including asbergers (sp?) They can't come up with anything, so now I have him back to a therapist. His behavioral problems mimic deppression, they swing from negative lazy attitude, to...
  15. So, so many I can list, but you guys covered most of them to a tee! This one really gets me! -Having friends who are jealous that you are so "slim" and they wish they could have celiac for awhile to achieve their weight loss goals!! Ugh! Ya, its sad that people want to "look" thin so badly that they would be sick to do it!
