    If he is anemic because of lack of red meat or poor diet, then a vitamin with added iron should do the trick. If that's not why he's anemic, then it could be the lack of strictness with the gluten free diet, or it could be a parasite, etc.

    I've been in a coma the past few days! I thought about showering and had to take a nap!     Since I reacted twice to the Iron IV's, we obviously have to come up with another plan. Dr H wants me to see this alternative Dr who does NAET treatments. He wants her to de-sensitize me to the Iron IV's so I can get them again. The only problem is, my VERY western medicine hematologist said no more IV's, ever.     I had another FUN Tuesday! We decided to go ahead and try the Iron IV again because the risk of NOT doing them is heart failure. So, we decided to try it and see what happened.     Yes, I totally agree with you. Dr H is pretty sure it's the babesia, but I've been in babs tx for about 7 months, and nothing has changed. The hematologist wants me to have an endoscopy and colonoscopy to rule out any malabsorption problems and/or internal bleeds. He said that I could have a tiny bleed that is causing this...who knows?     It's not wierd to react to the iron at all. If you look up ferrlicit the severe allergic reactions are exactly what I experienced. It wasn't the abx because I have infused 2x since then with no problems. It was definitely the iron. Now we just have to find out if it was a freak thing, or a true allergic reaction that happens every time. It was just...

    There's no known interaction between the Iron and Rocephin. I will have to talk to the Hematologist on Tuesday and see what he wants to do. It is possible to develop allergic reactions to anything and any given moment. People eat peanuts their whole life, then suddenly stop breathing one day....so it was definitely the iron.     Quick post...I'm waiting for the Dr to call because I had my 2nd iron IV just about an hour ago, and I'm breaking out in a rash, have HORRIFIC back pain out of nowhere, and have hives all over my legs. Let's pray I'm not allergic to this medication!

    Just a quick update... Back from Tahoe, safely. The plane had a flat tire, so we had to go back to the terminal and have it fixed, so I was a little late to Dr H's office. The flying seems to make the bleeding way worse. I have to call the gyno tomorrow and let her know. We should also get results from pathology.... My Dr H appt went well...

    I am finally up here in Lake Tahoe. I've been in bed the whole time...so I hope I feel semi human soon, so I can do something. I'm having really horrible cramps so I'm going to call the Dr today and see what she says. Also, the bleeding is heavier than it's supposed to be. I sure hope that this is normal for after a D&C.

    I was on that combo for a while. Omnicef is the oral version of Rocephin (IV). They give it to a lot of patients in conjunction with other meds. My LLMD explained it saying that it would make the other meds work better. He put me on it to see if I was allergic because it is related to penicillin (which I am allergic to...) and I did fine.
