ARCHIVED What Is Your Shopping Routine?
tammy replied to wwebby's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Shopping was a challenge for me too, in the beginning. I didn't know what I would like, nor what I would need. I too went from health food store to health food store shopping for choices and economical prices. Our local supermarket now carries a lot of gluten-free choices! We buy the usual gluten-free staples (flours) bi-weekly. My husband loves one... -

What's the issue with MSG, is it gluten or some other problem?

Are there any recipes for oatmeal cookies using McCann's Irish Oatmeal? It is the only oatmeal that we can eat. So I wanted to make oatmeal cookies using McCann's oats. However, these oats are steel cut and they are not flakey. So I don't know how the cookies will come out if I use the cooked oats. I will let you know....

tammy replied to judy04's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I went to the dentist for a cleaning and the polish did give me brain fog. The good news is many of the Aquafresh products are gluten-free! I use the one for sensitive teeth. Also, Jason makes a toothpaste with Co-Q10 and I haven't had a problem. I don't know if it is gluten-free. Jason's brand is known for health conscience. I would love to hear... -

I have a few ideas! Please tell me if you try them and how successful you are, okay? ARCHIVED Had Some Diareeha This Morning
tammy replied to mario's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Mario I wanted to send you a hug! I too can relate, I am gluten sensitive and Casein sensitive. I do however cheat with the dairy. I really watch the milk and cheat with gluten-free pizza once in awhile. Actually I can tolerate a smidgen of cheese but I had four small pieces of gluten-free pizza about 12 days ago and I am still paying for it. I... -
We love to eat ham for Easter but we are not sure which ones are gluten-free. We used to buy Cook's ham. Is that gluten-free? I will try to contact the company but in the event that they do not get back to me, I would appreciate your expertise.

Hi All, We are looking for gluten-free substitutes for the Spanish seasoning called Adobo. Our brother-in-law won't make his rice and beans without it. Is it gluten-free? If not, what are the tastiest alternatives... All tasty gluten-free suggestions would be helpful.

If you like fresh juices high in antioxidants then you might want to try POM juices. They are in the produce section of our supermarket. They come in many flavors, blueberry, cherry, pomegranite and mixed flavors too! Yummy! I bet they are great over ice. I plan on making ice pops out of my juice. Does anyone want to come over for some conversation...

tammy replied to mario's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi Mario, I drink water, water and water, some herbal teas, such as Chamomile, coffee, and the occasional light Rum, Ciroc Vodka, and some juices(rarely) and Silk Soy milk. It sounds like you are very healthy, how has this diagnosis affected your immune system, and ability to handle carbohydrates? By the way, is that your puppy's picture? I love... -

ARCHIVED Achiness/fatigue
tammy posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Does anyone else experience fatigue and achiness in the morning? The achiness is inconsistent but the fatigue is more frequent. Each day I keep a journal and make mental notes of how I can feel better. The fatigue is getting much better now. Yet sometimes I am achy in the morning, and I am just not sure why. Although I am not allergie to nuts, I did... -

ARCHIVED Dog Treats
tammy replied to tammy's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks for the ideas!!!!!! I could try rice cakes too! Maybe gluten-free cereals but they do contain sugars though. I think the rice crunchies are low in sugars. I will try tiny pieces of carrots too! I like to use healthy gluten-free snacks in one of my dog's toys. It's a large cube that spills out treats as the dog pushes the toy around the floor... -
ARCHIVED Deducting Food From Taxes
tammy replied to SofiEmiMom's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi Mariann, I have the same question. My diagnosis came from Enterolab and too boot, my gene test revealed that I do not have the exact genes for celiac. However, I still must adhere to a gluten-free/CF lifestyle. -
ARCHIVED Dog Treats
tammy replied to tammy's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks Sara, I already thought of that. But I need dog treats for training purposes. 100% liver treats are gluten-free but I wanted to have a few choices. Carrots work for some dogs and not others. Liver works for most but now some. But there are a few wheat-free dog biscuit choices for those that need them.
