  1. OMG! Almost fell outta the chair on that one!
  2. Oh man... I have to admit, Smirnoff Ices are one of the things I miss most. These days, I'm most likely to order a Tom Collins.
  3. No problem! It's a great article.
  4. I know... This kid comes on here for a little help, and someone has to go and post something like that... utterly irresponsible... and a hotly debated topic anyway.... UGH!!!!!!!!
  5. If yall just heard a scream- nay, an ear-splitting SHRIEK- of pure shock and rage coming from a southerly direction, that was ME! Somebody just suggested to a 13 year old child that it's ok to order food with a little gluten, as long as you take some GlutenEase with it! Open Original Shared Link
  6. This is what happens! This is what happens as a direct result of these companies' irresponsible marketing! On this very board I have just read someone suggesting to a 13 year old child that it's ok to order food at a restaurant that has a little bit of gluten as long as you take your GlutenEase! If I sound outraged, it's because I AM! https://www.celiac...
  7. WHAT!?!? Do NOT do that, ever ever ever ever, do NOT deliberately ingest gluten and think that a pill is going to do you any good! It's NOT! At the risk of going on a complete RANT, I am APPALLED that anyone would suggest this to ANYONE much less a kid! This is exactly the problem with these pills! They make you think can get by with doing things like...
  8. Will, I am so sorry you're going through this!!! Dealing with both your own cravings PLUS other people being gluten pushers.... the combo is incredibly hard to deal with. Let's look at one thing at a time. First, the Pushers. If you were older, I'd suggest spelling out the symptoms you get when you get glutened. But I'm betting that describing...
  9. I thought it was the other way around- 200 in Europe and 20 here. I could totally be wrong, though, it's been quite awhile since I read the actual laws. It wouldn't surprise me a bit if our laws are more lax.
  10. It's a major problem, that's getting ready to get a lot worse. In the past, companies used their own discretion about labeling "gluten-free." That wasn't an ideal situation, because they were no laws defining what gluten-free meant. The upside of it was, that companies that were labeling their products gluten-free were mostly companies directed straight at...
  11. I wanted to e-mail this article, Understanding the Genetics of Gluten Sensitivity , and nothing happens when I click the "Email Article" link. Is this because it's an older article, or is it just a temporary thing..? I can just copy and paste it into an email if need be, but I just thought I'd mention it.
  12. I know, oh ma GAH! It drives me nutzoid when people state opinion as if it were fact, and when people find it impossible just to say, "Good point."
  13. Thanks Jess, that was a great article!
  14. Gah! I totally wasn't ignoring you, Jess. Just didn't really have anything to add. And I guarantee that you're going to get a response.
  15. Ever since the bog board update however many months ago (I can't keep track of time) when all the green was added, the forum screen no longer fit on my monitor screen. I always had to scroll over. Now today I don't. Weeeeeelllll, when I post, it's still too wide, but not as bad.
  16. Correct! This has happened on and off since Scott started playing with things again. I like it to be squished like this. Now the main part is actually on my screen. For months now, I've been having to scroll over to the side every single time I get on a new page.
  17. How long have you been gluten-free? It's not uncommon to just have a few relapses in symptoms at first, even without the help of gluten. Having said that, cc in your home or the hands on your mouth thing could be the problem- either one or both. Are you sure that no one had double dipped their knife in the butter? Peanut butter, mayo, whatever? ...
  18. 1% of the population isn't a 1/2 bad marketing demographic for a dietary supplement. And yeah, the CYA statement is required. Everybody knows that because it's on every single bottle of supplements available in this country. And unfortunately, it is therefore ignored by every single person who picks them up. Including you, and including me. Whether they...
  19. This one's definitely my fave! Omg!!! That sounded so much like Brian!!! Is this dude a relative of yours or sumphin'? Exactly.
  20. Thanks! It helps that no one heard all the affronted mutterings under the breath while I typed away...
  21. That person in the GlutenEase thread actually copped a snarky 'tude with me. And it was over a post that was totally neutral.
  22. But it is what the thread became about, which is why I suggested you read the whole thing. It came to be about who the product was marketed to, because that is the big problem a lot of people have with it-- that it is marketed to those with Celiac Disease. And thank goodness, we also have laws about false and dangerous advertising. Again... I suggest...
  23. Snooort. We're gonna get in trouble, I can feel it in the air....
  24. Shyeah. Whatev. I KNOOOOOWWWW!!!! Omg. I read that one and my jaw hit the floor- Ka-BAM. I couldn't even touch that one.
  25. My suggestion would be to read those last few pages. It was pretty much agreed upon that the makers of GlutenEase do market it to Celiacs, regardless of their CYA statement. Having read the whole thread, I don't think any non-Celiac gluten-sensitives were bashed or maligned for choosing to take enzymes.
