ARCHIVED Does Anyone Have The Cosmetic Ingredients List
radgirl replied to FootballFanatic's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Can someone explain to me how yeast extract has gluten in it? Also, I thought dextrin and maltodextrin were derived from corn in the US. Please confirm. -
Today, I was told that red dye #40 is made with wheat. Can anyone confirm this? Do food dyes have gluten? I know we really shouldn't be consuming them to begin with, but it does happen.

ARCHIVED Can Someone Describe Dh?
radgirl replied to missmelissa21's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
I've had this problem since I can remember. Always thought it was a heat rash, hives, or something else. Good grief! -
Raven, thank you so much for chiming in on this. Glad to know that I'm not the only who isn't going crazy and can no longer tolerate these cereals. I did find another culprit last night. A while ago, I purchased some hand & nail cream. I'm extremely allergic (break out in full body rash) to cocoa butter, so this product didn't have any in it. However...

The ingredients maybe gluten free, but what about the manufacturing process for CC? -

What kind of "guarantee" do we have that the Dora and Pooh cereal is safe to eat? -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Cereals
radgirl replied to radgirl's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Well, I did some poking around here on the site and I've found that several others have had issues with the Honey Rice Puffins. They used to state they were gluten free and the new box I have no longer states that, only wheat-free. I do believe it might be due to a CC issue. I also contacted the manufacturer for Corn and Rice Crunch Em's and they said... -
I think I'm having an issue with CC regarding some supposed gluten-free products, i.e. Honey Rice Puffins and Corn or Rice Crunch Em's. Still investigating.

So no one here has had any bad reaction to Honey Rice Puffins or Corn/Rice Crunch Ems? -
Dairy and most soy is all ready out of my diet. I'm running out of food.

To be on a "gluten free diet" or be consuming what is considered to be gluten free items, yet after a period of time have a build up of the toxin in your body due to cross-contamination and such, thus causing a return of symptoms?

ARCHIVED Gluten Free Cereals
radgirl posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I'm not sure if anyone is in my similar situation, but it seems I'm have a gluten flare up and I'm trying to pinpoint where it's coming from. I know that many here eat Puffins Honey Rice cereal and Corn or Rice Crunch Em's cereal as well. However, no where on these boxes do they state they are gluten free. In fact, on the Puffins cereal, there may be an... -
If you are allergic to eggs does that mean the entire egg or only the white or only the yolk? It seems I'm finding that many are bothered by the whites only. Does the amount of whites make a difference in your symptoms? I'm trying to sort through the possible details.

Happy New Year to you all! I hope the NY is treating everyone well thus far. Question to the group. Have you found that since being a Celiac, you can no longer tolerate EGG WHITES? Please chime in on this one. I'm trying to see if egg whites are now causing me issue. Is there such a thing as an intolerance/sensitivity to egg whites? If so, what are...

ARCHIVED Mead Envelopes
radgirl replied to radgirl's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Oh thank you so much everyone. I found it odd that there might be gluten in glue, but then again, you never know where it can be. I did find a letter from the glue/adhesive association and they said that their most (if not all) glues all derived from corn or tapioca. Thank you so very much. I feel better! -
ARCHIVED Mead Envelopes
radgirl replied to radgirl's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Ah, thank you so much. I feel better. The Mead envelopes are made in the US. I am waiting to hear back from the company for confirmation. -
ARCHIVED Mead Envelopes

I mistakenly licked a Mead envelope. Does anyone know if this brand of envelope glue has gluten in it? I'm so dumb! -
ARCHIVED Appearance Of My Stomach
radgirl replied to radgirl's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Right now, I'm just having a hard time looking in the mirror. My focus goes directly towards my gut. I did have some yogurt, just to see how I would react to it on Saturday. Although my gut didn't "react" who knows what it did to my body. I know that I can't have dairy either, but I thought I'd try the yogurt to give it a shot. I'm learning that our... -
ARCHIVED Appearance Of My Stomach
radgirl posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I am not even sure how to write this down, so bear with me if it sounds bizzare. Has anyone noticed that the appearance of the stomach has changed. I look at the rest of my body and my stomach simply looks larger and different (not necessarily bloated) but just bigger and different. Almost as if it doesn't fit my body. I don't know if its water retention... -
ARCHIVED Fruits And Vegetables
radgirl replied to radgirl's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
How long were you gluten-free before you noticed you no longer had the issues with fruits and veggies in any form? -
ARCHIVED Mission Corn Chips
radgirl posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I know there are no gluten containing items in these corn chips. However, is there concern for CC? Are they fried with other gluten containing items? -
ARCHIVED Too Much Fat?
radgirl replied to radgirl's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
All those things you mentioned cause me issues as well. Fish oil is a huge offender. Therefore I don't think it's just nuts. -
ARCHIVED Fruits And Vegetables
radgirl replied to radgirl's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I created a separate thread, but does anyone find they have issues with too much fat in their diets? I'm not sure what would even constitute too much fat, but it's a though rolling through my head. It seems that although we have issues with the gluten, the gluten has caused our guts to be so out of whack, that a variety of things can cause some discomfort... -
ARCHIVED Too Much Fat?
radgirl replied to radgirl's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
How many grams of fat does everyone consume? I have been finding that my tummy seems to get a little ticked off with more than 1 tablespoon full of peanut butter or other nut butter. It's like I can have the one server of nuts or nut butter, but by the second round, things start to get off a little. I know I haven't been glutened of CC'd either. What... -
ARCHIVED Got Sick
radgirl replied to wowzer's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Good one for not going for that suggestions. Picking off the breading isn't the answer. Perhaps you can bring your own little dish of food to eat.
