How can you tell who's corporate and who's not? Or should I ask if they use dedicated fryers for their fries. I find this odd since their corporate offices told me to not eat their fries at ANY of their locations.

ARCHIVED Gluten Free Resturants Denver
radgirl replied to Ashley18's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Hello all, I too am in the Denver area and have been to most of those places that have been mentioned. If any of you all are up for a get together, I'd love to join in! -
I've been told by RR (based here in my home state of Colorado) not to eat their fries since they do not use dedicated fryers in their restaurants. Now I've got conflicting info.

ARCHIVED Clothes And Frustration
radgirl replied to radgirl's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Jersey, I'm definitely finding that clothes are shrinking a lot more than before as well. In fact, clothes seem to be shrinking a good one size. This is why I brought up the quality issue in my OP. I'm beginning to question the quality of the clothes/materials we buy and what happens to them after they are washed or taken to the cleaners. My dryer isn... -
ARCHIVED Clothes And Frustration
radgirl replied to radgirl's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
My dryer will only be 5 y.o. and I usually use the low setting. With the dry cleaners, they've messed up a couple of my pieces so I can see shrinkage coming from them as well. I use to be the person who always washed everything on cold and line dried them. But then I had to iron everything, yet another pain. I'm trying to find good clothes, that are very... -
ARCHIVED Clothes And Frustration
radgirl replied to radgirl's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Same here. They will fit fine all over and once they have been washed or taken to the cleaners, they have shrunk considerably in the thighs. It's very frustrating. I think I need to learn to buy clothes one size up so that I give them room to shrink. Cotton is by far the worst. I washed 2 pair of pants yesterday. As it is, they were fitted (and looked... -
ARCHIVED Clothes And Frustration
radgirl replied to radgirl's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
May I ask why my age matters? I usually wash on cold and use low heat for drying. However, I've noticed problems when I take my clothes to the cleaners. It's upsetting because I know they fit I tried them on. They fit great. Then I wash them or take them into the cleaners, and BAM, they've shrunk. I know it's not a weight gain issue because I own ... -
Maybe it's me, but I'm finding huge issues with clothing and quality, especially pants (sometimes shirts). I go to try pants on and at that time, they fit. No problems. They fit everywhere, I can move in them, etc... Then after the first washing/drying or dry cleaning, they no longer fit "right". They've shrunken all over by a good 1/2 inch. I know...

Kristin, this is a great question and by no means naive. I've wondered the same thing. Hopefully someone can shed more light on this issue. -

ARCHIVED Breath-rx Mouthwash
radgirl posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I wanted to share with everyone that if you are looking for a new mouthwash (since many of us can't use Crest and/or Listerine). Breath-Rx is gluten free. I contacted the company and they said it's gluten free. Happy rinsing! -

I was wondering if we have any folks from Colorado who'd be interested in a support/meet up group? -

ARCHIVED Store Or Off Brand List
radgirl replied to radgirl's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I'm not talking about food items. I'm talking about medications, mouthwashes, body care, etc... that are store/off brand names. -
ARCHIVED Tooth Decay And Very Noticeable Hair Loss

I believe that product is produced by L'Oreal or Revlon. I don't know anything about it. Have you tried calling the manufacturer? -
After finding out you were celiac disease/GI and moved to a gluten-free diet, were you able to come off your thyroid meds? I ask because I've been on thyroid meds for a year and half (truly convinced that I was hypoT). I'd like to see myself come off these meds if I truly don't need them because I was hypoT due do celiac disease/GI.

ARCHIVED Tooth Decay And Very Noticeable Hair Loss
radgirl replied to radgirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I'll take lactose intolerance over this crap any day of the week! I'm with you! For the most part, I do trust the companies when I call. But when I get contradicting information, my trust goes out the window. I know that no production line can ever be 100% tracked (unless it's a dedicated facility or line), but give me a break. You should know your QA... -
ARCHIVED Tooth Decay And Very Noticeable Hair Loss
radgirl replied to radgirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Oh yes, my hair products are gluten free. I have been using Dove and my styling aids are gluten free as well. A couple of weeks ago, I ended up using a hair color with wheat germ oil in it. I about flipped because the color was already in my hair and it was too late. So, to avoid minimal ingestion, I had my mom wash my hair well, in the sink and then... -
ARCHIVED Tooth Decay And Very Noticeable Hair Loss
radgirl replied to radgirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thank you for understanding my frustration. On another section of their website, it states that none of their products contain gluten. This is why I switched from Listerine to the Crest product. I don't think they understand that they are messing with the health and well-being of customers. To me, that statement says that basically their is a trace of... -
ARCHIVED Tooth Decay And Very Noticeable Hair Loss
radgirl replied to radgirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
This is why I'm very concerned: From their web site: I am allergic to gluten. I would like to know if Crest Pro-Health products contain any type of gluten/wheat substances? Pro Health Rinse does not directly add any ingredients that contain gluten , it is possible that the product could contain trace amounts. We recommend you contact your doctor... -
ARCHIVED Store Or Off Brand List
radgirl posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I know there are tons of list floating around regarding gluten-free and brand name products. However, I know that we all cannot afford brand name products and use store or off brand products. Would it be possible to start a thread or list with store/off brand products that do and DO NOT contain gluten, i.e. Wal-Mart, Target, grocery store brands, etc..... -
