  1. Thank you everyone for your kind replies. I'm trying to hang in there, but some days are harder than others and today is one of those days. I do appreciate what everyone has said. I do hope it gets easier. At best, I hope the anger and frustration go away so I can be at peace.
  2. I feel so alone. I don't really relate this to being overweight and/or certain instances of diabetes because many of these folks can eat "some" of their favorite foods (in moderation). For us, at least for me, I will NEVER be able to eat these foods again. It's almost like mourning the loss of something very special. Yes, to many, it is just food, but...
  3. I am not sure if other deal with this or if it even bothers you, but today I felt the worst sense of anger and rage due to the gluten and not being able to eat whatever I want. Yes, I understand we have our own food, but I feel like I live in this special little world with my own special food, special this, and special that. I felt this horrifying sense...
  4. Thank you everyone for your posts. I will post more soon. Great insight!
  5. This may sound ignorant, but what is the purpose of watching for gluten in our personal care products like shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc....? It is because we may ingest the gluten proteins? Can someone please explain this to me.
  6. Thanks everyone for your posts. I can see where many of you are coming from. For me, it's almost a quality of life issue. Even if you do make everything 100% scratch in your home, IMO, there seems to be no guarantees of gluten-free. Heck, for all we know, there could be some level of gluten floating through the air. Yes, all we can do is do our best...
  7. Thank you very much Evie and Doll. I wonder why this hungry feeling is common in those with celiacs/gluten intolerance? Is it because of being under/malnourished for so long and the body is saying feed me because it is truly in need of food due to so many years of poor absorption? I've been going through the constant hunger thing for about 9-10 months...
  8. I understand. But even with rice and corn, isn't there even a slight possibility for CC?
  9. Ok, this is going to sound quite odd. But for a long while now, I have noticed that when I have my leg or arm slightly crossed, I get the pins n' needles feeling. Is this also due to a potential B12 deficiency? I do take Protonix for my GERD/dyspepsia, but from the research I've done there is no link to calcium leaching. I also do not take the 2 together...
  10. What are some symptoms of malnourishment?
  11. Thanks Doll for your reply (sorry, my period is on it's way and I'm feeling a little singled out here - so silly though). As far a supplements go, I am the queen of that. I take many vitamins and minerals. What is worse is that I take about 1300mg of calcium per day, yet still have low blood calcium. Duh, that could be because I'm being CC'd with some...
  12. You hit the nail on the head. This is exactly what I am thinking. What set it off? What came first? The part that scares/concerns me the most is am I getting the proper care. Do I just treat the one thing and hope the rest fix themselves or do I treat it all as it all happens? This is why I am so confused and so desperate to put all the pieces together...
  13. This may seem silly, but I thought I'd throw it out there for discussion. When going gluten-free, is one every TRULY gluten free. I know there are gluten-free products out there, but unless you live in a bubble, isn't there always going to be some level of contamination? Perhaps I am not thinking this through clearly. Thoughts?
  14. I have been doing a gluten-free diet for quite a while now. However, I may keep falling prey to CC with things like fries, corn chips, and other items. I also notice that I'm always starving at all hours of the day. I can eat a meal and my stomach is physically distended and am even a little uncomfortable, but find myself still hungry or with an empty...
  15. Doll, can you shed more light on this? I have also read that those with Celiac can also have low blood calcium. It's like everything is connected and I'm playing which came first, the chicken or the egg. Is it Celiacs, is it POF, is it an issue with my pituitary gland? Is it all connected and they all need to be fixed. I'm so very confused and am driving...
  16. I had some pretty nasty whiplash about 11 years ago. I was in 3 car accidents in October of 1996. Accident one - hit hard on the left side, accident two - hit less hard on the right side, and accident three, I rear-ended someone. I didn't suffer any pain until May of 1997 and the pain was horrifying. Side note - when I was 16 y.o. I lost my period...
  17. Thank you so much. I hope to hear from more people.
  18. premature ovarian failure or possibly secondary ovarian failure (due to pituitary issues). Has anyone experienced any female hormone issues with being Celiac and having a low FSH, LH, estradiol, testosterone, and low blood calcium. Any help or suggestions is welcomed. I'm needing some answers if possible.
  19. I know most corn chips are safe. However, I have noticed that when I eat my favorite food (corn chips) at a restaurant, within an hour or so, my symptoms begin to kick in (bloated gut, smelly gas, some pain, all around GI issues/feeling sick). Has anyone else experience this with corn chips from a restaurant or store bought? Am I dealing with an issue of...
