  1. I try to get plenty of healthy fats in my diet via nuts, nut butters, etc... Does anyone else find that too much fat is bothersome? If so, what are some of your symptoms?
  2. Thank you very much. I never really thought of taking off the peel off some of my fruits. I guess I will just need to monitor and watch my intake and slow it down. I don't want to completely stop as my food is very limited since I cannot do dairy as well. Does anyone find that canned veggies/fruits are a viable option for a food source and it won...
  3. Yep, I was Dx with IC in May 2006. If any of you are Splenda eaters, stay away from it. In some of the research I've done, Splenda is can really irritate the bladder. I guess IC is just another piece of the puzzle with this issue. I'm still playing chicken and the egg and probably always will as other medical issues arise.
  4. Ok, so this comes with the territory then?
  5. Has anyone found that they have a harder time digesting/processing fruits and veggies? Does anyone find that they can eat certain foods, but not a lot of them because it will still cause their gut issues? I find this type of issue with fruits and veggies if I eat too many or go too many days in a row eating them. It is not a food allergy or intolerance...
  6. Yikes, I certainly didn't expect my topic to get so out of hand. Whatever the case, thank you for the posts.
  7. Usually when I react to gluten, it is within minutes. That is why I don't believe it was from something I ate prior. My reaction time is really fast and quite noticeable.
  8. How do you tell the difference between being "glutened" and it being something else? I ask because I have an egg protein powder that I drink on a regular basis. I can find no gluten in the product whatsoever. The company is going to send me all the labels for all their products, but from the research I've done, I see no gluten in any of their products...
  9. I wasn't sure where to post this, but what alcoholic beverages are we able to safely consume that IS NOT gluten-free beer? Sorry, I don't like beer and am craving a fruity alcoholic drink or even a glass of wine. Please chime in fellow drinkers, if there are any (not like I really drink, this is just a rare craving).
  10. How about the tablets? I should make sure I have liquid on hand just in case.
  11. Any others? Like Mylanta or Rolaids?
  12. Nope, sure aren't gluten-free. What a real shame. I wonder if the store brands are gluten-free?
  13. I know Tums are not, but can someone suggest some OTC antacids?
  14. Does the Dx from a doc give you a sense of completion to this whole mess? Or does that even matter? If everything comes out negative, yet you still live a gluten-free lifestyle, is that enough for you or do you continue your search for a concrete Dx?
  15. This would be an absolute God send. We can gather as a big group and fly all over the world and eat like kings.
  16. I agree with you here 100%. As far as I'm concerned the medical community doesn't know enough about any medical issue anymore. They are more concerned about the red tape and insurance issues to really pay attention to the medical problems of their patients. If a person doesn't meet all 10 requirements, but has 7 of the symptoms, they are automatically...
  17. Thank you. It's comforting knowing that other's feel how I do. As it is, I have huge issues with food in regards to disordered eating. This just complicates matters even more.
  18. Your co-worker actually had the nerve to call you a pain. I'm sorry, but that type of stuff infuriates me to no end. No, we enjoy being difficult and being left out. It's strictly for our enjoyment and other's displeasure. The nerve of some people. I'm glad you said you couldn't go. If they have nothing for you to eat, then tough. Health is #1 priority...
  19. I have been drinking this: Open Original Shared Link I called and it is completely dairy free and they said they add no gluten to the protein at all. They also said they clean the equipment before different batches, however, they cannot certify the product is gluten-free (not sure too many companies can do that anyway). It comes in chocolate, strawberry...
  20. Absolutely. I'm always hungry. It's like I never get enough food to eat and I'm constantly thinking of food. I will have eaten a meal and feel as if my stomach is still empty and often times have physical hunger feelings. Very strange and very annoying. I do have suffered with the waking up at 3 am starving. Right now, upon regular waking, I'm very...
  21. How do you know if you have this? Can it mild or does it have to be severe like the pictures I see on the Web. What does it look like/feel like, etc...? Where is it mainly located and how does it start up?
  22. How common is premature ovarian failure and celiacs? I read the study that was posted, but are there any POF suffers on this board?
  23. I've read that many folks have gained weight when moving to a completely gluten-free diet. Are there any that have lost weight after going on a gluten-free diet? For those that gained weight due to the gluten, have you lost any of that weight when switching to gluten free? Where do most people's weight stand without the gluten and in what time frame?

ARCHIVED I Thought I Knew It All

Much love and good thoughts coming your way. Are you in contact with a physician to help you out? Has your diet changed? Is all of this new?
  25. Yes, that is exactly it. I get angry with people who are eating and I want to beat them to a pulp. Sorry, don't mean to sound aggressive and nasty, but it's a terrible feeling to have. I watch people eat with just love, gusto, and enjoyment and then I look at my "weirdo" food and wonder what happened to my stomach of steel!
