    that is disturbing info. the coffee filter company said that the filters I'm using ARE in fact gluten free... but I beg to differ. Maybe they test up to a certain ppm and there might be a trace of gluten, not enough to effect most but since I have DH i am more sensitive - I did something stupid this weekend - so stupid that I'm not even going to tell...

    well i'm going to get in touch with the company that makes them - just to see. so far - i'm itching less... tomorrow everything should be better if this was the culprit.

    i was drinking Folgers at one time (custom roast) and and had no problems... now i'm drinking maxwell house no creamer - cut that out several months ago because the hydrogenated oils - just sugar and I've not tried to get into any flavored coffees because I don't know about the gluten aspect. one step at a time.

    i'm not so smart after all - it wasn't the sugar. I started having issues again and thought it was something else... now I'm almost positive it was my coffee filters... duh! never thought about it. I always make sure to by bounty and charmin but I NEVER considered my filters - not one time!! maybe because I have not had any issues for over a year and...

    well the paper products idea wins! well - just think i got to the bottom of it - some new coffee filters that I've been using! heading to walmart to get a washable filter... you know when you just know? I can't believe I didn't think about that!! Just thought I would let ya'll know.

    I can tell you that the itching is torturous, and I don't know if that describes the condition in full. When my first derm. said "it's excema...you're going to have to learn to live with it" I didn't tell him that I was just short of putting a bullet in my head.. not really.. but you get my point.     during my most severe DH episode - before I found out what was wrong with me I had several places on my body that were broke out - one of the most memorable was a hives type reaction on my buttocks... both sides... heated and raised - my experience is most of the outbreaks are the same... single "bug bite" looking spots... but sometimes they are clustered...

    My experience with DH has ranged alot - most times they itch - sometimes they hurt -and sometimes they just sit there on my skin looking like they should hurt or itch but I don't feel anything.     good idea - but all my sheets and pans are either stainless steel or replaced with new stuff ... yep when I went gluten free I tossed out all those old cookie sheets and teflon coated pans! my plastic ware got thrown out - I even gave away my old rolling pin! I thank God for my DH actually because at 45 years old I didn't know that all the other symptoms...

    WELL - it turned out it my Dixie Crystals sugar that was causing my skin reaction - it took a few days but when I removed that particular sugar from my daily intake (in my coffee) I got better. AMAZING! I need to be more careful and always on my guard.

    i just want to vent - I have DH - I've managed to do real well since June of 2007 with only a couple mild outbreaks... I have now spent the last 3 weeks itching like a fiend and breaking out all over the place. something is "getting" me and I can't pin point it!     I've not had any problems with the sea salt flavor - that's all I usually buy and my daughter (age 25) - who is celiac as well - finished off the bag of lime flavored and hasn't mentioned any problems I think I figured out since then that it may not have been the food...     Has anyone had any reactions from Erewhon Brown Rice Cream or Lundberg's Lime chips (not sure of the correct name of this... but if you've eaten them you would know what I'm talking about) those are the only new things I ate yesterday - and I'm breaking out and itching so bad right now...     I know this is an old forum topic - but I'm newly into this.... I've been gluten free since June 07 - except for the occasional accidental "glutening" I've been having a problem with a rash appearing around my mouth and nose - the culprit? I narrowed it down to my paper towels... occasionally I'll grab one blow my nose - and almost every day I use one...
