  1. yes - I was thinking about airborne wheat - what a nightmare- OR since I don't know - stick around dance around behind the tractor and see if it bothers me.. I'm in North Carolina - I thought they planted rye in those fields.. but much to my dismay they are raising my worst foe. oh well Thanks for your input!!
  2. there are two fields one along side my property and one across the street that I just found out are planted with wheat - Does anyone know if I need to be concerned? along with gut issues I have DH - and I've found out that I react externally from contact with wheat products. I'm thinking that I need to go away from home the day that the farmer harvests...
  3. can you possibly tell me or lead me to your pie crust recipe? I've got a bread recipe that may work for you - or give you some ideas omit the cheese for the stuffing I only made this once and undercooked it - but the edges tasted good!... i'm going to try it again and use it for my stuffing unless I find something better Robbie?s Parmesan Cheese...
  4. Gluten Free for 6 mos. and free of a 14 year problem with facial acne - my answer is YES a gluten free diet definately cleared me up. as well as migraines and mouth ulcers (amongst many other symptoms)
  5. I'm experiencing the same thing - gluten free since June of this year - it seems now I react more severely intestinally than I did before - my guess is that my gut is healing and just sensitive - your small intestine atrophies in later stages of celiac disease so I would guess that it just doesn't "feel" the gluten. Then when you begin healing... it more...
  6. well you ARE aware that the recent pet food recall was a GLUTEN product that was causing the hubub right? I'm sure that all living creatures would be healthier if they went back to the basics - our horses for instance graze all spring summer and fall - with no extra feed - just water and a mineral block - AND the grass from our pasture. Only in the winter...
  7. wow - thanks! I don't think i'm going to try that brand again. I made some Bob's Red Mill brownies one time and made a chocolate cake from the back of a tapioca flour box and both were great with no reactions. it says on the box that it was made in a 100% gluten free facility... but maybe it was the chocolate chips?
  8. nope - brand new cookie sheet. I've learned my lesson on the "used" baking equipment - about 3 weeks ago I made some gluten-free waffles in my old teflon coated waffle iron - BIG MISTAKE - I knew better - I just wanted those waffles so bad!! it was the Kinnikinnick (spelling?) brand and they were great! But this was a mild reaction I had from the waffles...
  9. I have been gluten free since june of this year - for the most part doing pretty good - until this week - I purchased some gluten free cookie mix - 365 Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix (it's distributed by whole foods) I know I didn't anything else that could have caused this problem - my gut has been killing me for two days - severe gas and bloating...
  10. That's what I'm screaming these days. There is really alot more to life than indulging on gluten products. It's not all that good for you anyway!

    ARCHIVED Acne

I've been gluten free for two weeks and no new blemishes, something that has been plaquing me for 12+ years I must say that I was using RetinA when I went gluten free - but I quit using it and no new pimples AT ALL! This is an amazing "find" for me. I've just started using a pure olive oil soap on my body AND face - - three days now and no pimples...

    ARCHIVED Blisters

    one word.... RETIN-A
  13. If it walks like a duck.... if you don't get the symtoms while gluten free - that would be enough for me - actually it IS enough for me. I occasionally got small occurances of the same rash you are talking about, as long as I can remember - even as a child. at 45 yrs now. I got a full blown rash occurring in several places - I knew nothing about DH and...
  14. I have to convince my daughter (25yrs) that her migraines - stomach cramps - and cankers may be gluten induced... my sister says I'm freaking her out... she doesn't want to have this but I think that she may have an intolerance to a degree. I'll not say anymore to her.. she's smart - she'll check it out. I just want my family to be informed -
  15. I'll bet if she develops DH- she'll listen!! I almost went nuts with it. I didn't know cankers were celiac related... yet another thing i've had all my life and dealt with it. (i'm 45) A new day is dawning for sure. No more gas - no more migraines - no more rashes - no more ankle swelling - maybe I can get pregnant now - AND NO MORE MOUTH CANKERS!! My...
  16. YOU GUYS ARE KILLING ME!
  17. I'm about in the same boat you are - last fall i developed a body rash and I had hives occasionally until about 2 weeks ago I went hard core - fruits, veggies, meat - no processed foods and now no rash or hives present - i'm in the process of getting tested for Celiacs - I found a couple sites that list hives as one of the symptoms.. don't know if it helps...
  18. i'm testing now for celiac - pretty positive (rash disappeared upon removal of gluten in my diet) now I'm concerned about my family - My sister's 5 week old has reflux and possibly some problems with colic. He is on similac formula. are these celiac symtoms?

    ARCHIVED Rash!

I've just started out in this forum - Blood tests are being done this week for Coeliac - Thank the Lord for the internet - otherwise I would still be go crazy with the horrible rash I've suffered with for about 9 mos. I'm sure everyone has their own horror stories.. but I actually had a dermatologist tell me it was excema and I had to learn to live with it...
