  5. Start by contacting the support group leader. She/he will be able to tell u the reason they dont meet that often. Maybe u can help with something. In the meantime, use this forum! The information here and the people here are incredible resources! Good luck! -Ali

  7. Hey guys! I didnt read thru all 19 pgs but i get the gist of this thread What a fabulous idea to have a support group! I pretty much have the diet down and eat...
  8. I was SOOOO relieved to finally know why i had been so sick and to know that I had a chance to feel better. SO RELIEVED!!! I was never mad at all! And after a couple of months of learning safe and forbidden ingredients and feeling better, everything just fell into place. Hang in there! To me, this diagnosis is a great thing! It means u are going...
  9. Hey guys! I buy my charcoal and probiotics at Whole Foods. My friend with Celiac was saying that the gelatin and cellulose in capsules are made from grain. most of the time. I have no idea if that is true or not. Do any of u buy ur charcoal and probiotics at whole foods? Can you please tell me what brand u buy that is gluten free or that does...
  10. I lost SOOOOO much hair! So So So So So much! I had NO idea why! Kept blaming it on having my son and the epideral! BUT 8 years later I was like...what on earth is going on??? THEN in February I was diagnosed with Critically LOW Vitamin D. I began taking Vitamin D tablets and I cannot tell you how long my hair is now. AND it is soft and my spiral...
  11. One more thing, I don't think it is that important to correct her/them. The most important thing is that they understand WHY there is such a need to not cross contaminate. I would concentrate on teaching them about what needs to be done and if they are just not going to do it then bring snacks and food with you for your son. This is a pain, i do realize...
  12. Honestly, I don't correct people. I have found that they respond better when i say allergy. I only say intolerance and go into details with friends and family and anyone interested.
  13. Sully, I used the safe list and forbidden list from this site. It is printed out and i refer to it regularly. I know it can be EXTREMELY OVERWHELMING at first but stick with it! I ate so little when i was first diagnosed. I NEVER shopped at walmart b/c i was terrified to read the labels. BUT BUT BUT....... As time goes on, and as you...

  16. Well, im on day 5 of an accidental glutening...still havent figured out the source.... Im glad (well, not really ) to read that glutenings can last over 3 days. Usually i am better by now. I thought that was the magic number. This time is just really bad. I hope u feel better soon!
  17. I have not had a specific side numbness or pain. What i do have is this...when i am glutened, my face will become bright red w purple tints and it will burn and hurt terribly. My friends and coworkers know this about me. It will show up within the first 30 minutes and will stay for 3-4 days until the gluten is out of my system.
  18. I have always had sores in my mouth also. Now that i have been gluten free for 8 mos i use it as a sign that i have been glutened. Within minutes i will have sores in my tongue and mouth. Good luck to u!
