    ARCHIVED Nausea

Yes. It is way worse at the end of the day (for me). The poor kid is like the Peanuts character with the little dirty cloud all around him. Oddly we are the only 2 bothered by it of of the 5 in the household.

    ARCHIVED Nausea

The nausea is about to do me in. People are thinking I'm a soda addict because I'm carrying one around all the time now because that is the only thing that seems to settle it so I can do my normal activities. The gas is something too. I don't know where it is all coming from. I'm not eating any more veggie than usual (always been a veggie person). At...
  3. Been there done that one! That must have been the popular thing at that time. That is when you are so reactive that your body goes whacko no matter what you eat. Potatoes are the gentlest to deal with (unless you have issues with them) until your body settles.

    ARCHIVED Nausea

Thanks for asking. I'm right there with you only instead of getting tingling mine is going away.
  6. Interesting thought about the gluten tainted blood. I get turned away too. I'm just too much trouble when trying to give blood. I'm not a popular type, my veins are hard to hit and I am slow. They always accused me of being dehydrated. Hubbies eyes just pop out when they say that because he sees me downing water. I bruise easily too. When...
  7. Yes. I was just about to suggest googling your real name. Then delete anything you have an option of deleting.
  8. I have no idea who found you. I have been told that it is pretty easy to trace a computers IP address. The authorities use tools to trace addresses all the time to find offenders of children. I'm sure they used the same tools for this.
  9. There is a book out there that helped me understand it a little better. Its "Milk Is Not For Every Body". It is mostly for the LI but it also goes into milk allergy way better than most I've found.
  10. gfpaperdoll -- very interesting. Our nutritionist also believes that we can pretty much get rid of our other allergies once we are both CF and gluten-free for a while. She kind of had your thoughts about the inflammation. She wants us to do this for a while then us have the oldest retested on nuts (non ana). I have recently tested negative to shellfish...
  11. I am a long time milk allergic person. I was always told to use caution with wheat because the proteins are similar. In a recent meeting with our nutritionist I was told for the 3 milk allergic in our house to go off gluten for a period...which brings me here because there was a marked improvement.
  12. Lactose free milks still have all the proteins though. They just change the sugar.
  13. Yes they do get worse. Benedryl only works so far. My reaction took about a week to go away. Since you had a reaction like this you must DEMAND an epi. Have you had the blood tests to determine exactly which nut you should watch out for?? I'd add mango and sulfites to the blood test too.
  14. I did not deal with gluten issues while dating but I did deal with anaphylaxis to shellfish and severe milk allergy. Some out there did try to understand and were very "loving". Other out there told me that I had better eat the food not embarrass them if we went to someones house and they offered shellfish or whatever You are right getting rid of...
  15. Keep in mind I'm fairly new to gluten but I would put my bet on the fries. It is my understanding that you have to get brand specific with these (some brands have gluten, some don't). There is cross contamination issues also - were the fries cooked in the same grease as say battered onion rings?? I think that because eggs have a stronger taste they just...
  16. It looks like you are on the right track. Health must rule over fun food. In our situation our counselor said feeding them "off diet" was the equivalent to child abuse.
  17. We have only been seriously working on cutting out gluten for about a month. I just noticed today that this 1 single but very annoying and itchy bump I have had on my leg for quite a while is nearly gone. Do you think this is a coincidence or could this be a small case of the DH. It was about the size of a bad pimple. It itched and burned like...
  18. I so understand what you are saying. I believe that after you have been on food "restriction" for a while you come to see food as it was originally purposed -- for nourishment. Our society has let food take on a role I don't believe it was meant to have. It is a whole messed up confusion of needs and wants. We are focusing on food but it goes...
  19. That is my problem. I've been dairy free so long that I don't even think about it. I'm to new to the gluten free and not comfy with that part yet. Looking to the dark chocolate is the best way to start. Obviously milk chocolate and white chocolate are out. We eliminate some artificials too and I can still find 1 or 2 choices at a regular store.
  20. Dairy free here... I would stick with it about 3 months. They say it takes about 6ish weeks to get it out of your system give or take a little. Now you do know you can get chocolate w/o dairy. (we are new to the gluten so I cannot name gluten AND milk free yet) Chocolate Silk is not too bad.
  21. My family was the same way when I went milk free. I would even buy my milk free foods and they would eat them all up then complain about how nasty they were. I'd complain then they would tell me how selfish I was. Even though I'm old enough to be your parents, I completely understand!
  22. I agree with the others. Would your Mom let you set up your room dorm style with a little fridge, a little toaster oven and like items?? Even if you couldn't use them in there, have them safe and available to bring out.
  23. Hmmmm. You have me wondering now if my grandmother and mom may have had Celiac.
  24. Hi. I'm new here. We are still trying to figure out our wheat/gluten issues. We know we have them but just not sure what yet. I did have to comment on Renee's issue of "wonder". I have a MIL that would do just that (we have other food issues). Luckily I have strong taste buds and have caught every test on myself. We had to stop eating there when...
