  3. Hi Ohiodad, You are feeling overwhelmed and I know that feeling as i'm new to this too. I found some gluten free products at our local natural health food store, maybe try a GNC near you? We aren't rich either, we're just your moderate average family, I don't even work, my husband does and we're raising 2 children. The meals I try to cook are regular meals...

Thanks so much, I refuse to go back on gluten for testing, I"m going to see the gastro spec. just to talk to him and see what he has to say, if he starts the doubts with me, I'm not going to push it with him, I know i feel better, my family has told me i look much better, I'm not so tired anymore, i don't get migraines anymore, it's amazing really. Hi Ohiodad, im from Ohio too I suffered like you but for 16 yrs and had scopes done, only to be told i had IBS..then i developed a rash last year..no dr. could clear it up..so i went to a dermatologist on my own.only to find out i had DH, a rash only caused by celiacs disease. I've been gluten free for a month now, and it's hard, trust me! I have no more...

I've only been gluten free for about a month now and I miss a lot of foods too I bought gluten free bread and made some tuna salad, i have to toast the bread tho..it tastes nothing like regular bread..the tuna seems to fill me up more. You don't have to starve yourself, eat more often maybe? keep yourself filled. I've been snacking more on rice cakes, fruits...
  7. thanks Denise, you have helped me a lot..I think i'm going to go with my "gut" instinct here and trust my derma. diagnosis..now when i go to see another dr. or dentist, do i tell them i have been diagnosed with DH or celiacs? see this is where i'm confused. Also, I didn't think insurance companies were allowed to deny due to preexisting illnesses..anyone...

MY dermatologist firmly believes I have DH, I also believe I do..NO biopsy or testing has been done, other than he put me on a gluten free diet a month ago and been on Dapsone for 2 months now..My rash has pretty much cleared up, other than a few spots here and there. I had a followup yesterday with him, He put me back on dapsone for 6 more weeks and told...

I said no, he did a scraping tho..(not the same thing i guess) then he said hmmmm well i'd rather a gastro spec. tell me you have that, so he set me up with one..but anyway, we went into this discussion about celiacs, he said i doubt you...

  12. I am new to a gluten free diet...everything i read says fresh brewed coffee, we like to drink tasters choice instant coffee and if we do drink brewed coffee we usually buy folgers. is instant coffee ok? Thanks, Lori

My dermatologist is treating me for DH, i'm on dapsone 100mg a day now..he never did a skin biopsy, he said he wants to clear the rash up first with the med and gluten free diet..I told my family dr. and he set me up with a gastro spec. in Oct. I've had gastro problems for about 16yrs, been told its IBS, but now i'm worried i have had celiacs all these years...
  15. Hi mamaw, thanks so much..my dr. gave me an article about kathys creations and the nurse that works in my dr.s office is gluten free too, she told me kathys is a great place to go. I go to the gastro specialist in Oct. so when i find out more i'll surely be here reading and asking questions, this really is a good site, thanks again, Lori
  16. i was just recently diagnosed by my dermatologist with DH, i had been suffering with IBS for almost 16yrs, so my family was well aware of that problem and did support me when i had my issues and bathroom problems if we went out to eat..NOW with this new diagnoses my dr. put me on a gluten free diet and dapsone, going to see a gastro spec, in Oct...my mother...
  17. I was just recently diagnosed with DH by my dermatologist late August, so i'm really fresh to this stuff, needless to say i was floored when he told me what he was treating me for. I told my family doc, he seemed in disbelief, asked if i had a biopsy done of the rash, i said no he did a scrapping tho..which isn't the same i guess? so my family doc set me...
