  1. I have been eating breakfast at the original pancake house in Greenwood Village Colorado since last fall when I found out they had Gluten Free pancakes. The locations in Colorado, well at least the one I visit, received their mix from Deby's Bakery, a local gluten-free bakery and restaurant. Earlier this year they switched to Bob's Red Mill gluten-free...
  2. Recently the King Soopers (aka City Market, Kroeger) in my area have added a freezer of gluten-free products. Since my diagnosis almost a year ago they have started flagging gluten-free items in the aisles (not because of me obviously) but it is nice to see them doing this. The Freezer they ahve in the frozen foods section is a lot of kinnickkinnick items...
  3. I called the one here in Colorado, they are not currently offering the gluten free crust. I believe I talked with the owner/manager. He was very friendly and very honest. He told me that currently the issue is that the crusts come in a pack of 20 and when thawed are only good for three days. Obviously there are some ways around that, but he says the...
  4. I went to TJ's yesterday in Lakewood, Colorado near Colorado Mills/Denver West. I was just there about a week maybe two weeks ago. Anyway, I did my usual order, Reg White Bowl with veggies and curry, I mention I need the Gluten alert. They then proceed to tell me they have a "Gluten Free Teryaki" now. So I said great! I asked for it on the side. Once...
  5. Bumping this up for a follow up. I started visiting this location again this spring after having a few good experiences at the one by my office. Since I posted about how bad it was I figured it is fair to come back and highlight the changes they have made. Now that I have visited the store about a dozen times now since March here is what I have noticed...
  6. I thought I would follow up as I just returned from another trip to Vegas. As mentioned by the last poster in this thread they now have a Gluten Free Menu. When I was there in March they did not, so this is great news. We also ate at: Craftsteak at MGM, they were very accommodating as you expect, as well as the Burger Bar at Mandalay Bay. We also...
  7. Being a veteran of a few trips each year to Vegas this was my first trip since my diagnosis. We tried looking online to find places in advance, but knew it was really going to boil down to just asking the restaurants. We opted to stay to the Excalibur...it was the best rate for the week....I don't plan on staying there again. Had never stayed there...
  8. Open Original Shared Link offer gluten free options. I know their food isn't the greatest, but if you live in Colorado, you gotta love the Rio and the margs. I live not far from the Lone Tree location and we needed some margs. I called them up and they said some in, we have a menu. Now I will forewarn, it is a bad menu, because it lists all the things...
  9. In the past getting glutened meant thinking and researching after the fact what I may have eaten that made me...sick. Tonight we made tacos, like we do every week. I am big on my spicy salsas and we have really been enjoying a locally made one that per the ingredients is gluten free (as far as I can tell). I have never had any problems with it. Last...
  10. Sorry to hear
  11. Last week after my experience I had filled out comments on my experience on the Chipotle web site. Again, while I am disappointed in what happened from visiting the restaurant I was by no means angry or irate and I feel that showed in my well worded comments (from what I recall). I just got a call from the Manager of the store who apologized to me for...
  12. Thank you all for the replies. We are going to try scrubbing the crock pot some more and look for those liners as well as a test. We really only use the crock pot for making pot roast so I don't really have anything else to test with it until we take these next steps. I could believe that whether it is a crock pot or some other ceramic style pot that potentially...
  13. Thanks everyone, we did a good job cleaning it, but maybe we need to either buy a new one or really get after it. Potatoes are fine, I eat them daily practically. The glass cutting board and the strainer have both been hand washed and put through a sani-wash cycle in the dishwasher so I hoped they would be free and clear.
  14. I sent a message through their website. I was also going to call the location to speak with the general manager. I'm not angry, just frustrated and want to see if everyone can be on the same page. As for Noodles, if you go in there right away tell them you have a Wheat Allergy, they have a allergy button they hit and it prints it on the ticket. Again,...
  15. Well I can't say I am happy to see others having the same issue and again, this really isn't as much about the language as it is how is the best way to work this with the management. As mentioned Colorado could be disproportionate with other parts of the nations in terms of the employees, and with all of the food allergies out there you would think restaurants...
  16. Since being diagnosed we have been very label conscious about what we buy. We used to always use a seasoning packet for the pot roast but that had gluten so we stopped using it. Now being gluten free twice we have made pot roast and twice I got glutened some how. Basically, we buy the beef, some potatoes, carrots, celery and onion. Clean all the veggies...
  17. I read on here about the success and failures folks have at at Chipotle. I am about a month into my gluten-free life and while I like cooking at home, I have to go out. It's been a long week so i figured I'd go get some crispy tacos. I head to Chipotle and I ask the gal to change her gloves and she shakes her head. All the while handling a flour tortilla...
  18. I don't know of any, but I get up there every now and then. If I find out anything I will let you know. There is a City Market up there which is owned by Kroger and includes King Soopers. I know King Soopers carries some Gluten free items so there is a decent chance City Market does as well. I know that doesn't really answer your question but hopefully it...
  19. Glutino's frozen meals are good, but tend to be low calorie. I think the ones with chicken have two tiny chicken strips and are only a couple hundred calories. Good if you are trying to lose weight, but not if you are maintaining or trying to gain. I also found a brand called PJs (mexican entrees). Found them at Sunflower Market which is a subsidiary...
  20. Hi Grant - I know this is an old thread, but I was just recently dx and I am a beer man. I love my beer. Actually I am a Coors man so this is a really hard thing for me to deal with. Anyway, I am looking to anything local, and was curious if they still have this beer. The location is really far from my house, but not a terrible drive after work for a few...
