  1. Re: Frico LOL I don't know why this suddenly came to me, but Rinne, I just had to find this post so I could say: PARCHMENT PAPER??!!! Wow u really are a real chef!! (Just reading it in the sig is never enough to convince a doubting tom) Maybe I've seen parchment paper at mom's or my sister's but I only KNOW I've seen it on tv. D'oh ...
  2. Aha! Good info, Thx Justifying my reluctance. Bought that can quite awhile ago, meaning to try it back then. But it's one thing thinking that in the store. It's something else in the kitchen, wondering if there's a quick bad reaction, do I really wanna cook *twice*?? P.S. Mornin' Donna! I got up @donnatime today! Didn't want to. Thought...
  3. Ahhhhhhhh Cho! (Not a sneeze. I'll try again) Yay Chorizo!! Enjoyed it some after going to Tucson for college, but *REALLY* got into it after a stint working at La Paloma Restaurant in Chicago. (Grrr or was that the Wrigley location? Same guys owned 2 w/ diff names) Sounds weird maybe but I wasn't the ONLY huero, just darn close. I've been (until...
  4. I haven't gone and looked anything up, but . . . .eh I shouldn't go there. The fermenting mold process was invented. Hence the distinction. "Naturally derived" sounds like it's more of a "harvesting" situation. Muir Glen is a pretty reputable company. Not sure if they're entirely organic or just mostly.
  5. I want a Rinnebar!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. I'd say more than "usually". Even every single time it's on an ingred list, unless otherwise specified. Which brings me to a question. Has anyone heard of "naturally derived citric acid" as an ingred? It's on a can of Muir Glen crushed tomatoes I'd planned to test by now but haven't.
  7. I know I'm preachin' to the choir (all R'ville inhabitants, not just u Jin) but I'm gonna anyway. U can do more than fantasize about the bliss/happiness that comes from being well. You're on your way. Not 3hrs ago, I sent this email to my little brother's former wife (rightly remarried) and their older daughter. "You will not believe how well...
  8. Uhhh, I have to add <spaces> to show u tho, or it'll think it's coded. [ / q u o t e] Or do u mean can I type it w/out changing it? I'll try a couple ways. And 'start quote' for this one is [ q uote name=CarlaB' date='Jun 18 2007, 07:06 PM' post='316880] The emoticons I put in above are the only fancier ones I know so far. (Again w/...
  9. It's a 'comparing quince & pears' thing. Naturally occuring citric acid isn't like the food industry's mass production industrially-produced citric acid. As long as the "not mold" side sticks to inside citrus and u stick to ingredient on a list, you're both right. I did a lot of research when my ND said "no citric acid, but use lemons in place...
  10. Hello artists, art fans & anyone w/ artist-envy !!! Supposed don't-miss PBS series starts tonight! From Today's SJ Merc News: In his past work for PBS (which has included "A History of Britain"), writer-scholar Simon Schama has managed to make some deeply complex subjects into fascinating television. He does so again with "Power of Art," an eight...
  11. Re: Frico Yes!! Asiago!! That's what tv Giada used and what I bought and used. And yup - it ends up as a cracker. (Hehe "as a cracker" makes that a minor typo away from a$$cracker LOL ) Teflon - I've seen the fumes when I mistakenly left a saute pan on High heat. Nasty. But I think the chemical bond is easily strong enough to deal...
  12. 1st off, I don't really miss much but I used to think that I'd want Lou Malnati's Chicago Pizza on my deathbed. Maybe Gino's East or Uno in a pinch. Annnnnd if I'm forced at gunpoint (might take someone also pointing them at family) to guinea pig an anti-gluten pill (not in placebo group of course), I'd go for a fastfood double cheeseburger. ...
  13. I'd get those symptoms from *feeding* the critters. Their output gets in bloodstream. Homemade chicken broth? LOL A singalong! || Everybody chantez avec nous!! :| "Theerrrrre's a skeeter on my . . . ." I have both a brother and nephew named Peter. Ugh the heat. 7pm in Phx and still 103.
  14. Sweet!!! I think the biggest hurdle for most of us, well . . . .me , is/was always having something to write with/on. Or was it the remembering to DO the writing immediately? Hmm I forget. I'll bet no man, w/out having it pointed out to him, would think of how women would hate that slogan. Ok maybe some docs in the right specialties. Sometimes...
  15. I got to know the place well enough that I'll have to say no. And nothing ownership-related to w/ LGCRC either. (Darn good one tho) There was a stretch where I thought I'd tried them all in a 10mi radius but never heard of CampbellCRC. Oh wait - if it's downtown I didn't go looking there. Bit out of the way. Barefoot Coffee in Santa Clara was the...
  16. I think I *heard* it!!
  17. I'm can't tell if you're being facetious or not!! I had a couple yrs where I'd swear I may as well have been allergic to both exertion and digestion.
  18. It even has a name!!! Frico ! It can also be done w/out the butter in a (good) non-stick pan. Med heat? Med high? Forgot! Long LONG ago (2 moves? 3?) I enjoyed it for about 40 whole minutes!! Oh and grrrrrrr - turns out my newly REdiscovered REinfatuation w/ music has a downside. W/ the Stones' "Sticky Fingers" blarin' (best rock'n...
  19. LMAO! But "childlike"???? In the future such economy of words will be lauded as communicatively ADVANCED!! LOL  You fans of extra letters may extrapolatively devolve further into superfluous syllables, wourds, phrases, phragments and sentences, into oblivion and beYONNNND!!!!!! <glad last night's A.E. (Algernon Effect) worries...
  20. Wow Grump - again those grumpy fingertips produce a great read!!!! Great memories here of my dad and 2 brothers. <wth - no bittersweet emoticon??> Szu-szhan!! That "well.....my dear friend in SJ" part reminded me I'd never gotten an answer to a question posed either during or just before the "shock&awe of email barrages". ...
  21. I think one very important aspect to making a food/symptom diary successful is to make it very easy and convenient and always w/ u. A standard notebook won't be w/ u when you're out. I liked the mini-composition books (~4"x3"); the kind w/ marbley cover). And my short race-track pencil. Easily pocketed. Now I just do it on this sidekick I...
  22. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I flashed right to me lobbying for a narrower definition of carla'ing. Wow so much I want to respond to. Been trying to catch up on much-needed housekeeping bah. <happily held hostage in Rville>
  23. Oh daaaaaah-yum!! After 1.5 yrs w/ nary a thought of indulging in chocolate (Nuggs w/ Alm a former object of most severe rachelization ), I was visiting the 2 little cuties from the recent sillythread story over Halloween. (Kind of a tradition - they've never carved a pumpkin w/out me and older one is 11) I'd been feeling pretty good and had had...
  24. Ahhhhhhh All those posts w/ only dots? But that was a diff name - maybe tk6katt or close. By the attack geese page. Nah that must be someone else. Ohhhhh was this the name change done by admin? Gah my head's gonna hurt if I keep trying to think this much.
  25. Hehehe I don't think u need to change your posting style. Seemed to me the audience just doesn't want to see it mushed together into one huMUNGOus paragraph. And I'm w/ them. I just get carried away in that I want to start responding to something but that [REPLY] button is sooooooo far away!!! Oh oh Oh Jin - u need a food/symptom journal...
