  2. Great av Alex! Bev - hehe - good to see Uncle Ray. His pic makes me think of my paternal grandfather, aka Pop. Quite similar tho Pop had a thinner face. I have a pic somewheres. Av coming. Bummer on all that spoiled food Patti. And not a difficult formula. Once the 1st is born, it's 1 in 365.24, allowing for leap years. Ugh...
  3. If I were you I'd go dairy-free from the start. Better than wishing you had later on. Many celiacs find they're fine w/ dairy w/in 6mos.
  4. We're WAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIITing .. .
  5. Oh jeez the fire season sure started here. Around a dozen today, if we include as far as Stockton & Monterey County. Susie - I got a little worried for you & Kissey when they said up the hill from Davenport, but it seems to be one by Bonny Doon. I doubt the cabin's that close to a town. Today's both my brothers' Bday (4 yrs apart btw for any...
  6. Rachel, I wanted to thank you for posting this. It pushed me over the edge to FINALLY get a broken molar pulled yesterday.
  7. One site w/ gluten-free restaurants is Open Original Shared Link
  8. If I sound funny, it's cuz I'm just back from the dentist so there's lingering novocaine or whatever & the gauze over the new hole in me 'ead where a toof was. (Celiac-induced <I'm certain> broken molar )
  9. I don't know that there IS a generally accepted amount of time (or amount of gluten?) for this. Stanford's Head of G.I. Dept told me a half of a slice of bread for 1 month.
  10. Oh sure - take advantage of my reluctance to exclaim "I thought you were older than THAT!"
  11. Scotland??!! I missed givin' Knick a Bon Voyage too! Wow since when is Tzu-tse Miss MemoryGirl? I didn't recall that at all, so did a lil search & then it made sense. After 1st crowning, I used the word coup, which doesn't sound like soup, eh Soup-sie? Jess 1979!!!?? that's my HS grad yr Any West-coast swingers dance to...
  12. Indiana's underwater!!!!! Gian-knit??? Leiy-suh??? Staying dry by y'all?? (Jin????) The Ripper goes to camp! Should be fun. (Interesting to me that an area is known as cottage country.) Wish I had something besides cashews & almonds. I miss crunchy. And almond butter for "dessert" ain't cuttin' it 3 yrs in. ...
  13. Hey! Cut that out - I like those!!! However, until I learned how to heat them properly, they were often gummy & quite unappealing. They're just about the only thing I eat that I don't make myself. (Just realized my sig doesn't at all reflect how many foods I can't have)
  14. Jess is feelin' wackl today!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. It's pretty incredible how successful Northern Dancer's descendants have been. I've been hearing about that stud forever. Bit of googling turned up a weird stat - his granddad, Native Dancer, was in the bloodline of ALL TWENTY Kentucky Derby entrants!
  16. Go Big Brown!!!! But might be an anti-climactic cakewalk w/ Casino Drive scratched. Aha! Searched "yolo papaya" to find: papaya has papain & pineapple has bromelain
  17. Sarah, good to hear from you, & sending positivity your way. hehehe I'd want to do that too Bah! I do miss corn & the variety it could bring. I'd read that popcorn should be the easiest to reintroduce, but got lightheaded & a weird prickly head feeling last time. grrrrrrrrr Still kinda...
  18. (That Em . . .alllllllllllllllways thinkin'!)
  19. I'm not quite understanding how a mismatch of a bake-off morphed into a weapon-laden rumble. I'd like to propose disallowing Iroquois skull-crushers, maces, muffin-pults etc & going w/ some old-fashioned bikini'd oil-wrestling???
  20. Gah!! Scary stuff. Reminds of the <gag> awful sight of finding liquified lettuce, which many yrs ago, happened to me far too often. Hehe ya Silly - it was directed at the "see you guys around - 6?" part, not whether Kissey's gettin' any (chuck roast) Congrats? I suppose so since dx is SOOOOOOOOO much better than non-dx. ...
  21. <sigh> yeah ... I've got to look at food this way too. I use YahooYellowPages all the time. One handy feature, after finding something, is the "Change to this location" option (towards the bottom). Makes it a breeze to find the closest whatever to where you'll be later instead of hunting from original location. And the Driving Directions...
  22. Woohoo success! hehehe . . . ..yeah, they do say that YahooYellowPages is spectacular for this. Find where the nearest EVERYthing is. Gian-knit has an M.S. Degree (Master of Strikation) Oh you crocktease you Corner Gas quote of the night: "It's...
  23. Oops, that was meant as part of my reply to CeliBelli, regarding what I saw as overly trusting the medical community w/ regard to celiac diag.
  24. Oy .. . . careful what you wish for. Phx has been mostly 100+F for weeks and will surely be over 112 for FAR longer than what seems humanly habitable. I will NOT miss opening my door at 10 or 11pm and feeling like I've opened a pizza oven. Daytime outdoor breathing could feel like my lungs were burning. Me too! .. . ...I do miss having some...
