  1. David Letterman!!!!! Glad you're feeling somewhat better, right on schedule. I'm thinking I'm ~halfway to the silly threshold myself. SJ's free Thursday "Music in the Park" concerts start tonight wooohooo!! 1st 4 are just a block away - called "Music in the OTHER^ Park". But w/ the NBA Finals starting tonight, I'll be doing some...
  2. The diet IS a test - not guessing. False negatives on the blood tests are almost unbelievably common & numerous studies show this. The genetics aren't yet fully understood. Endoscopies are hit-or-miss. Am I out of line to assume you found a good Dr w/out going through many years of misdiagnosis? Isn't the average time to dx still ~11yrs?
  3. Well, mine's a lot easier methinks - not a lifestyle change. I'm still way too scared of gluten to take any chances there. Somehow I feel like I know what this is like, but I really can't figure out why I'd think that. Maybe it's just that I've imagined it, wanted it, wondered what a pain it'll be when dating. Right now I just have to go back...
  4. LOL Em, I *did* notice that Laura's post at the top of this page said post#3777 & member# 5077. Alas, no equations bouncing around my head on a slow brain day. Hey Em, do you stop paying attn to the Stanley Cup once the Sens are out or once it became all USA? Don't both teams have more Canadians than Americans on 'em? (No idea . ..shows how much...
  5. Sven sounds like a big buff blond masseuse that the ladies of Sillyville would enjoy. We haven't seen Sarah in a few days. Hope she & family are fine. Just back from WhFds - successfully NOT buying that which I crave. No mo' "testing" Crave Bakery brownies, Pamela's choc chip cookie bites, ginger snaps, potato chips, fantabulous smelling...
  6. Hi Winhe, Portland is as gluten-free-friendly as anywhere in the US, as far as I know. I bet you'll have a great time. A couple links: SF area Open Original Shared Link Portland info Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link
  7. Some ppl have worse symptoms on day 2 or 3 than the day after a glutening. I hope it doesn't get really bad, tho it would be solid proof, it seems. Maybe the symptoms ARE relatively minor for you. But also maybe they'd build if you regularly had gluten. Isn't the "maybe I'm not gluten intolerant?" question wishful thinking? There were symptoms, right...
  8. where do I sign? <thx> Oooooo very good point! So Queenie, does he? Huh does he, huh? Does he?
  9. Jess - Ljubljana???? I can't read anything on the sign-atar. Found that it's the capital of Slovenia, but I feel like I'm missing out on something.
  10. And so it begins!!!! Congrats Emily on your Millenial Monarchy!! It's the Rollover Reign!! She's the Kilo-Kween? Grand Poohbah?
  11. Coming soon to a Silly near you - The Millenial Monarch!!!! Reminds me of the Avid Gardener thread, which I, every time, see as Ava Gardner You don't suppose we'll be hit w/ collective phluidical malpheasances, do you?
  12. I'm all for ya being more reck than reckless, but it's not like you scarfed a bunch of tollhouses or tried a new place w/out talking about gluten-free. Hey Em, I just saw the Corner Gas w/ Brent losing his hair and the one where he gets his parents to make a will. It just gets phunnier & phunnier the more I see it!! Anyone else a Corner...
  13. I swear Susie - I do NOT know how you can post all day seeming like your usual Dingo self (well, not 100%, but .. ..you know) under these circumstances. :sadfaceunderraincloud: <-----Dingy Reckless no mo' sounds very right.
  14. Such d%$#@#$ baggery!!!!! Now MINE says "warn (0%)"!! "Lighthouse D" belongs in the lexicon In the context I'd always seen a$$cracker, it seemed more a combo of a$$hole and the southern usage of cracker, like an ignorant bumpkin.
  15. Wow another poet! Well done I don't see any "warn(0%)" by your post count btw, and never heard of such a thing. Moderators know?
  16. Where'd everybody go? Did Lisa show while I wasn't lookin'? ;p <tom thinks he really needs to get back to visiting sillyville earlier in the day> Where DOES one learn the piggybug junebat?? Aha!! Due to the not-yet-admittable offense? Wow no kiddin' - neither can I. But Emily can!!!! ...
  17. Amanda - good luck w/ Jury Duty <zoigs> Hehe not really .. ..forgot Shelly's a veg. Oh puhLEEEEEEZE!!!!!!! Not too tired to go all iambic on our arses!!! (Fan-******-TASSSS-tic btw!!) <particularly rhyming "do this" & "hubris" > pizzle-ku well done Jess!! <phew .. . P...
  18. If we're starting a pool, I'm taking 'ate something w/out checking ingredients' again.
  19. Gah 3 pages already today?????!!!! How far below???? Did I miss it? Alex - buxom, yes good word Hehehehehe or she could've gone 20.76k!!! The overall distance question is somewhat more straightforward. A nice mommy like Em would cross the finish line simultaneously w/ the Ripper (and start at the same time) so if her average...
  20. ooooooooooo intrigue Yeahhhhhhhh I do wonder about that. First I've got to get back to practicing what I used to preach over on OMG - not having ANYTHING that I'm not positive is 100% safe. Maybe 2 or 3 wks w/out trying any tests of the maybe-or-probably-safe stuff will get me back to happy & silly. Thx for bringing up your thoughts...
  21. GYAH!!!!!! It's generally safe to assume that the answer to that in Sillyville is "joking" - except in Emily's posts. She's seemingly incapable of even strrrrrrrrettcching the truth. Well I suppose it is possible (and I don't just mean like winning the lottery) I do need to get motivated again. That's right Hammerhead...
  22. Whoa . ..slow down . ..there are varieties of Puffins that are wheat-free but not gluten-free. (I believe 'malt flavoring' is in those) The Honey Rice version IS gluten-free. Almost everyone has to put that "in a facility" warning on the package. As I've seen someone else explain, no matter how gluten-free my OWN kitchen is, if a kid walked through...
  23. I second what RiceGuy said. Pretty much anything that's called ______ _______ Syndrome, to me, indicates that there's a symptom (or a set of them) that the medical community has no cause to attribute it to. Before x-rays, maybe some broken bones were called "painful limb syndrome".
  24. I haven't been to any of them, tho if I'm ever in Berkeley, I'd sure want to at least look around Mariposa. (Can't eat so many things beyond just gluten) The Pleasanton one is Open Original Shared Link Pacific Grove has Open Original Shared Link
