  1. I wouldn't be worried about the flour coating I think she probably got sick from the taco seasoning. Anythink with seasoning in it is bad because most seasonings have HVP in them which is horrible for celiacs Kraft plainly lists if there is any gluten in their foods.
  2. I used to have the sesame street chewables
  3. Immodium just stops you up completely. If your symptoms are all diahreaha then yes your symptons would go away
  4. Dextrose is just sugar so i'm pretty sure it's ok. Also just the gluten-free safe/forbidden ingredients lest on this website
  5. I use coppertone and I break out whenever I touch gluten and coppertone and bananna boat work fine for me
  6. You doaughter sounds a lot like I did when I was sick. I was only 17 months when I got sick and was diagnosed @ 20 months with 3 months in the hospital. I also have thyroid disease. It took me about a year to fully recover. I was on engy tubes too and a feeding tube when I went home. Try cutting out lactose out of your daughters diet. We did that for 2 years...
  7. I know this isn't very incoraging but when my sister went on the diet in the middle of the year they said that almost everything in the dining halls have HVP which is horrible for celaics so she basically stopped eating in the dorms and cooked for herself
  8. Instead of using bread to make my turkey sandwiches I use corn tortillias and mely some motzerella cheese (you can leave this out if you are lactose free too) And then put turkey on mustard and mayo on it, wrap it up and I have a fast sandwich that won't get soggy in 5 minutes. It is more of a wrap than a sandwich but it tastes really good!
  9. Your celiac disease is just probably hasn't gotten to the sever stages which is for the better.
  10. Some people get their reactions a wek later. I get mine 24 hours afterwards
  11. I think you should be tested first because if you ddaughter is scared of needles that would be very hard for her. If you come back posotive then YES have her tested, but if you come back negative try to talk to a GI doctor because they seem to know more about celiac disease
  12. About Parks, If you have a written note from your doctor saying that you are on a special diet they should let you bring all the food in. I did that when I went to PGA with my class.
  13. Catfish- Even if you don't get symptoms you are still doing damage to your intestines. Try to be a little more careful when reading labels and about cross contamination.
  14. I have never had a problem with hydrogenated oils. They do not have gluten in them to my knowledge. They are just horribly fatty and gross but they don't have gluten in them
  15. You will find it much easier soon. Just make it through the first couple of months and it should get better/
  16. There were so many crumbs that I did ingest something or I just inhaled some of the flour that dusted the bread.
  17. i don't even remember when I was diagnosed @ 20 months. I guess people say I'm Lucky cause i don't get cravings but you will get used to the diet. there is GREAT food out there. Think about what you can have, not what you can't have. Try using a restaruant card when you go out to dinner with your friends. if you need someone to talk to you can always e-mail...
  18. At my graduation party theere was bread for everyperson which SUCKED! I got so sick at my stomach and broke out in hives. I was wondereing if anyone else has broken out in hives from gluten.
  19. I was diagnosed @ 20 months and I find the diet so much easier than my friends just diagnosed. They get cravings for gluten food and I don't. I find going to friend shouses easy. If they are really her friends then they will have no problem with you bringing your own food to their house and heating it up. Amys frozen food is what i bring to my friends houses...
  20. I don't know but I am going to Mexico and I am using a gluten-free restaruant card in Spanish. It really helps if u are npt fluent in spanish
