  1. I'm not sure what happened. Yesterday, after having gluten-free yogurt for breakfast, gluten-free crackers for a snack, then a lunch at Noodles with rice noodles, veggies, and shirmp, I had a Caramel from my favorite chocalate shop, no gluten, I had the worst abnomial pain I've had in years. The whole gammit of symptoms came back as bad as they were before...
  2. My blood work was defintively negative. Finally after two years on a gluten-free diet, they did a biopsy and found celiac related damage, even after two years gluten-free. My son has negative blood work, when he is 100% gluten free, he stops complaining about stomach aches and he doesn't act like he has a hole in his stomach. My niece has negative blood...
  3. I have been doing acupunture both before and after I was diagnosed. I had two miscarriages for unknown reasons and the neonatal specialist suggested I try Traditional Chinese Medicine. The practitioner found "damp heat" in my stomach which caused "stagnation" in my reproductive organs and lower bowels. Before I confirmed I was celiac the acupunture...
  4. I wasn't paying a whole lot of attention when I first went gluten-free two years ago, but I think I lost maybe 5 pounds but I went from a 14 to a 10 pant size. I'm just not bloated anymore. I swear I looked like a balloon in my swimming suit.
  5. You and I are the flip of each other. You have the antibodies but no sign of disease in the gut. I have signs of the disease in the gut, but no antibodies. Go figure. In my experience, doctors don't like diagnosising celiac disease unless they are 100% positive, mostly because (in my opinion) they can't do anything about it. (aka there is no drug...
  6. Hi Matt, I am recently "diagnosed" but I have known that I have trouble with gluten for the last two years. My triggered off of two pregnancies I had back to back and it sounds like yours triggered off from your accident. I, like you, can tolerate a certain amount of gluten without any "noticeable" side effects. Or at least I thought I could. I...
  7. I think that I ingested some gluten by accident on Saturday night for supper (that been four days ago now.) It was a sauce on a pizza that I just love. I brought in a gluten-free crust, and 99% of the ingrediants are fresh, but I forget that white sauces often contain flour. I realized my mistake 12 hours later with the severe stomach cramps, but...
  8. I'm struggling with the same issue, with roughly the same age kids. I'm trying to decide whether or not to put my 3 and 5 year old on the diet. I have celiac with one of the genes. My three year old has constant stomach aches, the 5 year old has lactose intolerance issues. But I've never even had them tested. My blood work came back completely normal...
  9. One of my symptoms of being "glutened" is a decreased ability to fight off colds and other junk. I live in MN USA, so our 5 months of winter gives us a long cold and flu season. Isn't that what Shingles is? A dormant infection in our bodies that reappears? So I would say yes, if your mom's immune system is busy processing gluten it might have lost hold...
  10. Hang in there... I don't have a lot of faith in doctors much anymore, or medical science for that matter. I know they want to help, but often the right answer is not something they can "prescribe" My oldest son came down with a Staph Infection at age 1 that his peds let run amock because they didn't know what it was, nor did they have a way to test...
  11. We sound like we have been on the same path. My IgG is low (7 to be precise) I don't have current IgA reading, but that was low too. My IgM (what ever that one is) is also low, but I think that had to do with my body attacking the fetus, which I guess it didn't do. But I can see this disease around me through generations of my family. My mother...
  12. I just completed my formal testing for celiac disease and I'm still confused.... any insight would be great. I have been tested for the IgG levels for celiac no less than 3 times. Once before I got off gluten, once after I got off gluten, and once when they were checking for reasons due to my two late miscarriages (one at 11 weeks and one at 17 weeks...
