  1. A dear friend (from here actually) sent me this and I just HAD to post it, in light of my recent rant about the pharmaceutical industry! Open Original Shared Link I love it!
  2. Ann, All I can say is that this guy most assuredly is in the proverbial pharmaceutical pocket! Drug company ties pervasive among department heads at U.S. med schools, survey finds By Lindsey Tanner, AP Medical Writer | October 16, 2007 CHICAGO --Nearly two-thirds of academic leaders surveyed at U.S. medical schools and teaching hospitals...
  3. I'm glad you like him. That's his sole purpose - to brighten people's day! The more I think of the above story, the more my blood boils....... We are trying SO HARD to get the info out about the damage that gluten does and I swear sometimes it feels like we are trying to swim upstream. There are so many "behind the scenes" things going on, I feel...

  8. I'm having the same problems Lisa, I use IE.
  9. Make sure your parents make is perfectly clear that if SOMEBODY doesn't take responsibility for this instead of just passing the buck, then they are going to be as loud and public as they possibly could be, making heads roll! I kinda like watching Anderson Cooper - "Keeping them Honest", he likes stuff like this! Sending you lots of cyber hugs and I wish...
  10. Count me in too! Karen
  11. Okay, just got off the phone with doctor's secretary: Cortisol - 264 ACTH - 3.1 She said there was no problem with those numbers. I was SOOOOO sure we were onto something here!
  12. Thanks Ursa! Your reply was extremely helpful and she was quite thankful! Hugs Karen
  13. Shaking my head in disbelief here....... Can't say I'm surprised though. My family doctor is fairly young (my age, in her 40's) and told me the only thing they learned in MED school about celiac is to look for it in children with distended bellies...... No wonder all those "experts" coming out of university now still aren't making the connection...
  14. Yeah, she's the main one I was thinking of.....
  15. A poster on the parenting forum I belong to has posted this question: Hi all! Just wondering if anyone has some good book titles on aspergers. I was just told about one called the Asperger answer book - by Susan Ashley - i hear some very specifec questions are answered, covering a variety of things. I also heard about a book that has a group of different...
  16. Not sure - I kept on trying to reply to posts and also tried to start a new thread, both times I didn't even have a "live" cursor in the boxes, no matter how many times I clicked on it. Update: Perhaps I was reported, but when the moderator read through the whole conversation, re-instated me because I am now allowed to post again!
  17. That's all I was hoping for - to convince parents to keep their minds and options open. We all know how devastated a person can be when they get a diagnosis, irregardless of what the disease is, whether it be celiac disease or autism. When you are in that frame of mind, you could be so easily swayed into the wrong direction by people who are so forceful...
  18. Well, they ended up winning anyway. I got kicked off. Oh well, my bad! Hey, it feels so invigorating to be a maverick! LOL! I have to believe that by taking that abuse, I have at least swayed one parent into choosing the path that will change their child's life. I will hold onto that.......
  19. That would be perfect! I did post about the trigger aspect, but not nearly as good as your explanation! Unfortunately, they won't accept my posts anymore, my screen just freezes. Sheesh! Just because I had the gall to challenge their close-minded attitude, the kick me off! Oh well, my bad!
  20. Something tells me that I'm about to get blasted: Heck, it won't be the first time! LOL! Open Original Shared Link It's kinda obvious that I am "rabbit" on there, eh?
  21. I caught the last 1/2 hour of it and I was SO impressed with both ladies! Hurray for them! I am so proud of them!
  22. My sister is getting a dog soon and she has her heart set on a GoldenDoodle......
  23. Hey Lisa! Unless you find yourself a dealer who can give you unlimited speed , I think the Jack is a bit too much to handle! Except for my Maltese who lived for 16 years (high intelligent dog, totally devoted, hypoallergenic, but you have to groom him which I did myself), I have had all goldens. I have decided to stick to my dopey golden retrievers...
  24. I am in a debate on a parenting forum regarding the gluten-free/CF diet and it's affects on autism. I have one person who calls this diet a fraud diet and another person who keeps repeating this as their argument: These people are spewing crap to these parents who are asking legitimate questions regarding the diet and wanting to try it. All...
  25. Consider it done, Allison. Hugs to you and positive thoughts being sent Noah's way...... Karen
