Did you have to use the word "nitpicking"???????? (my 7 yr old dd Rhiannon came home from school last week with lice and that's all I have been doing all week - nitpicking!!!!!) Agree with you also, by the way. I am one of the ones with "complications", but if I do happen to get down emotionally because of it, I always find that humour helps... -

Canadian Karen posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Well, had the upper GI series yesterday. I ended up having to drink more of that barium stuff because when they took me back in to do more pictures, the stuff had already gone through me. The technician said I was what they call "rapid transit", LOL, "No Kidding Bub! More like Super Sonic!" LOL! Anyway, I had to stick around the hospital until... -

It's finally coming!!!!! Thanks! Karen -
Hi Betty, I just want you to know that I can completely relate to the continued pain that you experience..... I firmly believe that I do indeed have the celiac under control (although I continue to have malabsorption issues and flat villi) and it is the collagenous colitis that continues to cause me the problems and more specifically, the continued...

Mmmmmm........ You're making me hungry!!!! Karen -
I use two different types of pain medication, depending on what kind of pain I have. Abdominal cramp pain, I take Tylenol with Codeine (up here in Canada, you can get it over the counter at the pharmacy). Now with me, since I have nothing but water diarrhea, constipation is not a problem for me regarding the codeine. For my mentrual cramps (which are...

I was diagnosed around 20 years of age with endo. Extremely painful periods and pain during intercourse where my main symptoms. It is diagnosed after a doctor does a procedure called a laparoscopy, which two very small incisions are made (during surgery), one in your belly button and one about 3 inches below. They go in and "view" to see what it looks...

Collagenous colitis is very nocturnal. It loves to wake me around 2 or 3 a.m., I have to go around 5 or 6 times, have cramps and abdominal pain for awhile then it settles down around 5 or 6 a.m. (just in time for the kids to get up! ) That is why so many of my posts are through the night....... ARCHIVED Getting Pregnant With So Many Health Issues?
Canadian Karen replied to Green12's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Juliem: I am glad you have gotten encouragement from our experiences. We've lived through it, in fact, it sounds like there's a whole bunch of us that were still not diagnosed while we were bearing our children. You're already ahead of the game by being gluten free! If I let all of the imperfections of my genes worry me too much to the point where... -

Canadian Karen replied to tiredofdoctors's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Happy Birthday, Michael!!!! Awwww, to be 33 again!!! Hope you have a wonderful day! Karen -
I can remember when I started taking the budesonide (steriod), and at the beginning, I actually had one BM that almost was normal. I was doing a day long celebration and felt like shouting it out to the world! Unfortunately, the next day, things went back to water, but heck, for one day, I was in poop heaven! Karen

ARCHIVED I Hate This Disease
Canadian Karen replied to tiredofdoctors's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Sometimes I wonder if they will EVER find out why I fail to heal, and if it happens to be refractory, that they come up with SOME breakthrough that will be able to reverse the damage. I get angry sometimes too. I get angry when I am rocking in pain at 4 a.m. because of the cramping and explosive diarrhea. I am angry that it decides to be at it's worst... -
ARCHIVED Getting Pregnant With So Many Health Issues?
Canadian Karen replied to Green12's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Hi Julie! Your fears are totally understandable. But remember, it's kinda like "I am going to wait for the right time to have a baby", well, the "right time" never comes. If you were going to wait until you have reached optimum health to have a baby, you'll never get there. Through all my pregnancies, I was consuming gluten (in fact, I lived on Terryaki... -
