Gluten-free since March 2007

Mom diagnosed with Celiac disease October 2007

Brothers both have the gene but have not gotten the disease....yet.

  1. There's a whole list in the teenagers and young adult section, I'll paraphrase but I know tequila and triple sec are ok. Most rum is ok other than caramel coloring. Anything wine is ok, except for if it's a malted wine cooler. There are more I just can't remember them. In the other section I believe the thread is under the same topic heading, so check...
  2. Is it the hormones that made me sick or the fact that I had to ingest it. The Doctor said something about my liver having to process it and that's what made me sick. Also, I love the name Janessa.
  3. I have no idea what happened, but it wouldn't let me finish typing males beware so it makes it look like a man is asking the question. Whoopsies.
  4. Hello, I was on yaz for a year and a half and I ended up quitting because it made my stomach feel horrible and I was constantly tired. Now the doctor thinks I have PCOS and will need to go on some sort of progesterone to deal with the acne and hair loss and whatnot. I'm wondering if anyone felt sick from the pill but then got an IUD, the patch or the ring...
  5. I get mouth and tongue sores so bad that my lymph nodes swell up. I get them for no reason, luckily I haven't had one for over a month now but it's not uncommon. I've also heard a story about a girl that was diagnosed with celiac disease on her canker sores alone.
  6. I took lactaid fast act last year for about 2 weeks and have never been sicker. I don't know if they've changed their ways since last May, but I definitely got glutened from them.
  7. I was hungry for about a month. I could out eat athletes. It was terrible how hungry I was, but I got over it. Now I feel normal hungry. My mom was hungry for about 2 months after going gluten-free, We just ate more and we definitely didn't lose weight. We packed it on...
  8. My mom is awesome about my celiac because she has it too, but her mom is a complete nightmare. Thank goodness she doesn't live with my mom because I would never go home. Over Christmas break my grandma was there and she insisted on baking gluten-filled things every other day, even though she knows the smell makes me sick. She completely freaked out at...
  9. If you have congestion, regular sudafed is gluten free. I would die without it.
  10. Really fast and easy peanut butter cookies, better than gluten pb cookies! 1 cup peanut butter 1 cup sugar 1 egg Bake at 350 for 10 minutes. If you eat them warm they're all gooey and delicious.
  11. Also it could be that the restaurant fried the corn chips in the same fryer that they fried something with gluten. That happened to me once at a Mexican restaurant and I was sure I was going to die. Next time you'd better ask where they make the chips.
  12. I'm feeling isolated right now too because I'm at school and my fellow celiac mother is at home. My roommate yelled at me the other day and called me ridiculous for throwing a dish towel that was only used once into the laundry. She also touches everything with gluten on her hands. In conclusion, my hands are extremely dry from washing them. When...
