    I had a negative blood test and a negative endoscopy.I still question the endo because it said I had "villious blunting with atrophy".Inflamation was mentioned also.When the doctor called I was told the atrophy could also because by acid reflux....so he was not 100% sure and called it negative.     I felt and and at times still do feel as if I need a more positive dx.....although,not very often.Like yours,my GI thinks it's Celiac or gluten/wheat intolerance based on symptoms and blunted villi...which seems positive to me.I tested negative on both blood and endoscopy tests...but had a positive reaction to the diet for over 2 months now.My family, sees...

    I'll be waiting for that post.I am the gumbo maker in my house and I have no clue about what flour to use.I want to go to Whole Foods and ask around.I live very close to Baton Rouge,La. and everyone says that's the best place around here for gluten free products.My parents live with us and my Dad is craving some good old gumbo!     I live about 15 mins from Baton Rouge in Walker,La. I use Dr. Moussa at the Ochsner Clinic. I think he's good.I tested negative on both the blood tests and endoscopy....but still had so many symptoms that fit celiac.The scope showed blunted villi with atrophy....which he said is either celiac, a reflux problem or both.He told me that I was at least gluten...

    One time my knee swelled up about 3 times the normal size I have noticed when I sit in the bathtub at times, my kness feel swollen and tight....but my hands and feet do not.This has puzzeled me lately.They were so tight I thought I had a fluid problem....the rest of my body was normal...ankes,feet etc.

    I am one of those people that have had a negative blood test and biopsy (although my biopsy reads"villous blunting and atrophy").....it's being called negative by the lab but perhaps questionable by the GI.He did tell me negative tests were not uncommon because of numerous reasons.     I am having problems once again with costochondritis(sp?).I thought I was about to have a heart attack last month when I went in to see my primary doc.He dx it as Costochondritis and put me on Mobic.....which helped out after a few days.I have parents with heart problems so we did the stress test for good measure and everything came out good...no heart problems...

    The doctor says...via the nurse: The villous blunting and atrophy could also be caused by an acid reflux problem. If that is the case,I had heartburn for about 4 months only (out of 50 years) prior to the scope.Heartburn has never been a huge issue for me...other than Jan-April of this year.I will at times be bothered by it still today...but not very often...

    Once again........thanks for all the input.It does seem odd to me still...negative biopsy...blunted villous?? I feel like the doctor would not have ordered me to start the diet, inform siblings,see a dietican etc.....if he felt like there was no reason to suspect celiac.     Thank you all so much for the input.I really just couldn't understand where the "negative" reading came in....unless it might be negative of any cancer?? The diet is helping so much...there can hardly be any doubt.You wonder how many histology reports/blood tests come back negative when they are indeed positive....scarey stuff!So many people's futures are...

    Wow....now I get it! My husband calls me the "blood hound" because I can snif out everything before anyone else even realizes it's around.
