OK we are 2 weeks away from the scope and V is getting sick again. We have decided to keep him home from preschool for the next 2 weeks to make sure he gets better and does not catch anything else. But what I am getting frustrated with is that fact he is complaining his tummy hurts all the time. I called his norm doc and they said try the over the counter... -

I cant have dairy either, it makes me very sick to the put if i have it with in 30mins i am sick and will be for a few hours tell everything passes though my system. I wil take a look at Nestle will miss the ovaltine, i like how it adds the extra "good stuff" to his...

thanks guys, its funny but he loves ketchup, nothing else....He does not like cheese, i think its because he has always been on soy (he has a lactose problem) so i am going to pick up some soy cheese and try that. He only likes noodles plan no sauces and hates raw veggies. So i think whats its going to come down to is eat or dont eat or i am going to have...

Thanks you, I am planning on cooking a lot. I have been getting a lot of practice at home since i cook a lot of my dads meals. I found a book on breads and my mom and I are going to start working on those and see if we like any of them. I have started cutting bread out of my diet and i so far have not missed it. Vincent love pancakes so i was going to look...

I am not sure if this is the right place to post this but i have been thinking a lot the last couple of days on how we are going to afford going gluten free. Right now the 3 of us live with my parents for another 3 weeks. In that time we will be moving out and with in the same week our 4 year old has his upper and lower GI scope done. After that my husband...

Ok so since i have been looking into this more and more for my son and are getting him tested, my mom and I have been talking. Something kept telling me to look it up and see if MS (Multiple Sclerosis) and Celiacs where any way connected. My mom has been suffering with MS for now 23 years and we both have noticed some of her sypmtoms are getting worse. I...

I don't know who all cant have soy but at my sons preschool and my place of work we can not have Peanut butter so we tried Soy Butter and he loves it. He has been on soy or lactose free items since day one so i don't think he really minds the taste. He is also the same way about cheese he wont eat it. But anyways it comes in smooth, chunky, choc. and I think... -

mcs1984 replied to mcs1984's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
thank you so much, its funny you did mention this because i went to a family gathering last night and another cousin is cutting gluten out of her diet. If my son comes up positive or anything we will do the gene test on me and then on the next child. Its funny how the more family i am talking to about this the more things are falling in to place. For example... -
ARCHIVED Do Allergies Mean It Can't Be Celiacs?
mcs1984 replied to 3groovygirls's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
i know i am new here and i am still dealing with a lot with my son but when i brought up with his GI Doctor that his 2nd cousin has a wheat allergy she told me that it would still be pretty much the same thing because its a lot of the same diet and sometimes the wheat is just stronger in some people. She also told me that one of the reasons along with many... -

Since i am new to all of this, what is the genetic test. We had the blood test done and that came back negative. He is going in on may 5 to have an upper and lower GI scoop done. When we went in for a follow up visit with the GI doctor and I told her that he has a 2nd cousin that cant have wheat and that his constipation was not getting any better she said... -
Ok so its just a quick question. I know that its better for you to be 100% free glutin free but is it possible that when i took my son down to only 50% gluten free and 50% "everyday foods" that his body started responding to it better? So when the doctor told us to cut out the gluten free and let him eat whatever so they could do this scope, could his body...

mcs1984 replied to mcs1984's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Believe it our not the doctor didn't tell me to do this, when i started putting him on high fiber food (when we went for his 3 year old check up, he doctor really thought it was a phase and the food he ate, that i knew it was not) and writing everything down that he ate to show her, i found that a lot of the foods he liked where gluten free. And his breakfast... -

Ok so i am hoping that some one can help me with my question, My son is 4 and we are just now starting our journey with the GI doctors. He has had problems going to the bathroom since he was about 1 month old. Up until now his doctor told us it was just a phase and that he will grow out of it, but we are still having lots of problems and the older he is...
