  1. I was diagnosed with a delayed food allergy by a holistic MD too--I was found allergic to gluten, wheat and brewer's yeast(which is weird since I don't drink). He didn't bother doing an IGA, as I reacted pretty strongly to the IGG. You just may not be allergic to gluten--the common denominator between wheat, rye and barley. I don't know about Mcdonalds,...
  2. I'm not celiac, but I do have a delayed allergy to gluten. My doctor had me challenge, and eat gluten for three days or until I had a reaction. I had chinese food for lunch. It took only for hours to have a reaction, so I didn't need to go for three days. That's a typical reaction for me, time wise, it's usually about 4 hours, give or take a little and then...
  3. I just went to P.F. Chang's for the first time two days ago, actually. I got two orders, gluten free of course, and I feel fine. I guess it just depends on the staff, and there is always a risk of contamination. My own food nearly got glutened when a friend stuck out his fork and wanted to try mine. While it was nice to have chinese food again, after months...
  4. I get this all the time when I eat sugar or things that can be converted to sugar too late at night.
  5. I am also a very light sleeper, anything will wake me up. But I also found that gluten free doesn't quite get rid of my sleeping problems. I think sugar aggravates everything-i get muscle twitches and shakiness and some nerve tingling when I eat it too late at night, when I sleep. It's profoundly annoying. I'm still trying to figure out what's making me clench...
  6. I've been a very anxious girl ever since childhood. But since I eliminated gluten from my diet and started getting my vitamin D levels back up to normal, I've really improved. I wish mainstream doctors new food intolerances could be a problem/cause of anxiety/depression, rather than just prescribe drugs for boost your seratonin levels. I tried to get my...
  7. I know exactly how you feel. I stepped wrong last September(on my birthday no less!) and felt intense pain all throughout my right food. Couldn't walk, couldn't put weight on it--all my Xrays and MRI's were normal. It still hurts. I can walk on it but it hurts to run and weight train. I'm also low on vitamin D, my doc has me supplementing. So, I don't know...
  8. I sure hope I can kick the candida. Yeast came back very high on my ELISA blood test, higher than the gluten and wheat. Eliminating those has had a profound impact on my symptoms(they've pretty much stopped). My doc seems to want to wait on doing anything for the Candida for me, maybe until I get stronger and heal my gut more? I haven't changed my diet since...
  9. I was diagnosed with a delayed food allergy to wheat and gluten. There isn't a lot of doctors who will do it and it took me 2 years to get an accurate diagnosis. Up until they docs were convinced I had carpal tunnel/fibromyalgia/thoracic outlet syndrome or any other nerve problem they could pin on me. My primary care doc is an alternative medicine doctor...
  10. I know this thread is a little old but I just had a reaction to perdue's ground chicken with wonderful 'rosemary flavoring'. They say it's gluten free.....My symptoms and I disagree. But then again, it could be due to some other food contamination too.
  11. I'm new here, I've been gluten free for about 6 months now--I actually have a delayed food allergy to gluten rather than celiac disease. I had Perdue ground turkey without a problem, but last night I made some ground chicken with perdue. According to the website, their ground chicken and turkey is gluten free, despite the 'natural flavorings' label on the...
