  1. We will be staying in Arlington, close to the Rosslyn Metro stop.
  2. Yes, almond flour. I was going to buy some pancake mix tonight and I realized it had had almonds. My ds is very sensitive to things processed in a nut facility. He can't even eat Puffins! Does anyone know of a good Gluten-free, nut free flour?
  3. I had the pregnancy from hell. I had heartburn really bad and Zantac didn't help. I also had some serious asthmas issues. I was eventually diagnosed at 28 wks as having a growth problem. I had to go to the ob's office biweekly for a Non-stress test and BPP. The continual consumption of gluten eventually (in my opinion) my placenta to stop working. My...
  4. Hello all... I am going to DC for a few days in Aug. I was wondering if anyone knew of any Gluten-free restaurants. Thanks in advance!
  5. Maybe you should get him tested for food allergies. My ds was 4lbs 7 oz@ 33 wks, and gained very little weight the first year of life. He just recently got folds of fat and has recently entered the 15% in weight, previously it was the 2nd. He started improving after getting gluten and his allergies squared away.
  6. My ds had the same type of poo for about 2-3 weeks after he left the in May sitter's for the summer. He had it(D) for a while but I couldn't figure out why he had it. That's why I joined this forum.. I knew it wasn't the b-f poo but something else. It was mucousy, like applesauce, the blood and sometimes like water. He too would remove his diaper unless...
  7. JCNFC: Until the tummy heals, just feed her what she likes. My son reacted to everything for a while. He loved raisins and dried plums. Just offer her different things, she may eat them, she may refuse. My son is much better now (his poops are finally normal...) and he will try more foods. I think his tummy hurt a lot and he was getting his molars. Yesterday...
  8. I had the same symptoms following my c-section. I do not have a firm diagnosis on celiac, I went gluten free because I was breast feeding and my son is allergic to wheat, eggs, and nuts. I noticed my pain in the side/belly went away, heartburn, and asthma symptoms gone. I also has ringing in the ears and sever brain fog. I feel much better being Gluten...
  9. I am still waiting on the EPT results lol. I have to plan for a due date at the end of the school year. I don't have very many sick days because I have been so ill all 8 years I have been teaching. (We get 10 days each school year.) Last year I went Gluten-free and for the first time I have *8* sick days to carry over to this year! So we shall see....
  10. Hey! I am in Roanoke too. I am afraid to eat out because people look at me like I am crazy. It's good to know our Abuelos is ok.
  11. Ms DS did the same thing. he has just now started to eat veggies again. His diet previously consisted of fruit..lol. I think it was a texture issue for him. He also eats one item in excess before trying something new. I just kept trying everything. Eventually he'll try it! Like someone else said about the pureed veggies, my friend purees beets and...
  12. I miss the convenience and feel your pain! Its hard at first. I have changed and I cook more. I moved to whole foods. I occasionally buy things out of a box for dinner. I use frozen veggies if I can't afford fresh. Beans and rice are a staple in this household! I also use up all leftovers. I cook a whole chicken on Sun with some roasted veggies and rice...
  13. I am surprised to read about Great Value being Gluten-free. I bought some Gluten-free rice lol...from there about 6 months ago. I quit shopping there after waiting in line so long that my ds took a chomp out of some bananas with the peelings! (4 little teethmarks) when the cashier weighed them. I am upset every time I go there...last time I couldn't find...
  14. Thanks HiDee! I am really excited about baby #3... I just want to have a safe, uneventful, healthy pregnancy. BTw, are you having a boy or a girl?

  16. I bought some Orrington Farms chicken bouillon. It said gluten free but has MSG listed as an ingredient. I am confused, some lists have MSG as ok and others don't. I used it to make pea soup and had heartburn and a few other bad stomach vibes... Does anyone know if MSG is truly gluten free? I know its not good for you, but its in everything like taco...
  17. Mine last about 3 days.... As for oatmeal, I pay the $6.99 for Bob's Red Mill, grown on dedicated fields. It also makes great oatmeal cookies...lol.
  18. Fiber no problem, I love to eat beans and I always have fruit on hand. As for the vitamins, did the iron upset your stomach? Did you have any constipation problems? My doc suggested that it - gluten sensitivity was in my head. I was always in his office with various gastrointestinal ailments, asthma, etc. I don't think the doctors will even listen...
  19. My son (9 y.o.) does the same thing! And this is on the gluten diet. It doesn't matter whether the food is Gluten-free or not. I am going to ask the ped to test him on Thurs. He constantly has loose stools also. Hopefully she won't brush us off...
  20. They are great! We buy those to take with us to friends houses and such. When we are hosting we cook Oscar Mayer for the guests and save the Hebrew National for us~! My gluten eating husband says those hotdogs are gluten free and people always go the other way! lol
  21. I think its the iron that may upset your stomach.... I use GNC brand without the iron.
  22. Hi Monica, I'm 31 and have had that pain since the birth of my second child. I went gluten/wheat free after my 10 month old baby was diagnosed with a wheat allergy. I feel great! I wasn't so tired/cranky. My asthma went away! My PCP implied that it was in my head. It's not, the first time I had the intense pain (by the way, morphine doesn't even touch...
  23. I waited to comment on this one...I took communion last week and I felt the pain in my stomach shortly after. The pain that usually sends me to the ER and morphine won't diminish. So this week I will be crossing my arms. I don't want to interrupt the service by calling an ambulance!!!
  24. My 1st ds was late walking etc., and I didn't notice too many problems until he went to kindergarten. His problem wasn't with gross motor skills but fine motor skills. He's now 9 yrs old and writes like a 6 yr old! The teacher just says he rushes. I help him as much as I can being a lefty...but he's going to be tested maybe soon and is going to need occupational...
  25. This doesn't relate to a restaurant... but it might shed some light on not knowing what foods are which... I am a Spanish/French teacher. We had an activity where you read clues about what a persons likes were and you selected something from the menu in Spanish or French based on their likes. Juan can't have dairy products- what should he order for desert...
