  1. Ah, shoot, there's something else i actually wanted to say. Well, my cousin (the one with the MS). Well, i asked my mother, if they ever found out, where it came from. And my mother answered, they aren't sure about what caused it. But those times my cousin grew up they still numbed you with laughing gas at the dentist. And she loved it so much, that she kind...
  2. Hey Kevin, it's me again, i can calm you down. Since i've had problems my entire life and the severe celiac symptoms already were triggered in 1998, i don't think, that my being over here caused it. Maybe it didn't even make it better, because of all that pizza...lol. But it sure didn't cause it. I already had a lot of bad problems before coming over....
  3. @ dragonking: I've also heard about people having that problem....that's not easy... But one other thing. This is about the hamburger buns and rolls in general. I don't know, how you can miss these buns for your burgers and stuff here in the states. I'm not an american, i'm german. And sorry to say that, but your buns or rolls. Well, i don't like them...
  4. Yes, i thought the same dessa already said. Your body could be detoxifying. But you should also see a doctor to make sure. Lots of greetings, Stef
  5. Really??? I thought Ken's dressings are glutenfree, too. Hm, i'm also confused now. And plain salad? Yack... Well, i don't like the Annie's dressings, so i might go back to the Kraft's dressings and read the labels again. They say it on the label. Was a good idea to mention this. Thanks. Oh, well. Lots of greetings, Stef
  6. Hi there, that sounds quite familiar . I had a tooth surgery in 1998. And as soon as the anesthetic died down i experienced all kind of symptoms, too. I also had a pain in my bone in my forehead. First i thought it's a normal headache (maybe from the surgery). But soon i noticed, that it's actually not in the head. It was in my headbone in the forehead...
  7. Hello Kevin, before i start to answer your questions i'd like to say, i agree with enigma. You're still young and can learn medicine. I learnt medicine myself for several years, but failed the test, because due to the celiac my brain was like a sieve. I didn't find the subject difficult at all, i just can't remember it. I'm 28 now and several month ago...
  8. My family and i are true germans. I'm probably the last descendant who was born in Germany. My grandma on my mother's side was born in the Rhineland-Palatinate, which is actually german, too. There's no irish or any other nationality in our family that i know of. Actually what i found pretty confusing was, that my doc asked me, if my ancestors come from...
  9. Thanks to all for your helpfull advices. When i heard, that this bacon is glutenfree i stuffed the complete bag of this bacon into me . Man, i really missed that. Greetings, Stef
  10. Hi to all, is the original bacon of Hormel Bacon glutenfree? I was trying to find out, but sometimes i miss things, because my english isn't that good all the time. So i thought i could go on their homepage and maybe find something that tells me it's glutenfree. And there is something else i don't understand, found also on their homepage. It's: www.hormel...

    ARCHIVED Disbelieving Doctor

Hello Richard, well, than you can be happy to have a doctor like that. But a lot of people don't seem to have a doctor like that. Otherwise they wouldn't complain, would they? And it makes me really angry , when i hear about something like that. A lot of years i ran from doctor to doctor and nobody could figure it out. Even if it's a disease which is...

    ARCHIVED Disbelieving Doctor

Hello to all, what do you think, what your docs do for living? Stupid question, he? If they would diagnose you with celiac, they would lose you as a patient (that's how they probably think about when it comes to celiac disease). There's no medication that they can prescribe for you. If you feel perfect again, than there are no more appointments to make...
  13. Hi there, i bought Shredded Mozzarella Style cheese last week. And they say No Gluten, MSG, Cholesterol on the bag. The brand was Lisanatti and they have "Lisanatti Premium Soy Sation" on the bag. It tastes really good. I mean i like it. I got it out of our local health shop. Greetings, Stef
  14. Hi! Wow! That's a long list!!! Thank you very much. A cook a lot and i found your list really useful Stef
  15. Thanks a lot Jessica i was diagnosed with celiac disease a few weeks ago and was wondering, if the potato chips from Lay's contain gluten. So i read the label, because i didn't know and thought that only the Lay's classic potato chips were gluten free. I didn't know. Cool! Now i can eat more. But can somebody help me with this problem? First i...
  16. Hey to all, i found that pretty strange, since i tried Pepsi and had really painful stomach ache and head (bone) ache. And i was so sad, because i love Pepsi. I'm pretty sure, i didn't make another mistake in my diet. So it can only be the Pepsi. Or does the vanilla and chocolate icecream from Turkey Hill contain gluten? I thought they don't have gluten...
  17. Hi Anna, 1. it also bothers me, when things like this happen. My advice, since some people are so ignorant, you are not dependent on their friendship, since they haven't been real friends (just coworkers of your friend for example) in the first place and mostly don't understand anyhow. Consequently just tell them what you thought and be mean yourself.
  18. Hi Judith, my doctor didn't have me reintroduce gluten as well before the test. He said that wouldn't be necessary as well. What a crap! Of course it's necessary. How can the tests be positive, if your body doesn't react, because you eat glutenfree? My blood tests were negative, too. In the german forum (i'm german by the way) they are warning the people...
  19. Hi there, i don't know, if phazyme has gluten, but i don't think so, because my doctor prescribed them for me. And he should know actually... Well, to make sure i wanted to double check at the pharmacy. I asked the pharmacyst from CVS pharmacies, if Gas X or phazyme contains gluten. All she said, was, "well, if it contains gluten, it should be under...
  20. Hi there, does anybody know, if Hooters has gluten-free meals? Thanks, Stef
