  1. I have what's called idiopathic gastroparesis. I don't have diabetes which is one of the "known" causes of gastroparesis. Idiopathic means they don't know why I have it. What it is: the stomach muscles don't work to help digest food and the food sits there for a long, long time. Fiber makes it a lot worse!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can go from loose stools...
  2. Luna bars are great for a quick meal on the go. Daisy sour cream is gluten-free - wal-mart generic is NOT Fresh fruit fresh veggies fresh fish eggs (lots of eggs) fresh goat milk (It's the joy of home schooling in the country you might be able to find fresh goat milk in the store, but I hear it tastes like the goat.
  3. I'm Catholic and have brought the subject up with my local Bishop and parish priest when I found out I had Celiac. I looked into the "low gluten" hosts. It is approved by the Catholic Church (and they don't like making exceptions about wheat). My doctor finally gave it the go ahead after calling the nuns who make it himself. He said that even if I ingested...
  4. It's true. I changed offices not just doctors. I figured if one doctor said that then the others were just as bad. I had already been reading up on Celiac and was gluten free before I was Dx with a biopsy. The doc I have now had a questionnaire I made him fill out before I would see him. The first question was, "What is Celiac and how do you...
  5. I was diagnosed with Fibro after the Celiac, but before the gastroparesis. It's all tied together IMHO. My GI doc says they are and is working on gathering info too.
  6. I'll just add my two cents because I had the same issue and went to my GI doc with it. After showing him my food diary and everything I use for topical products I went for more testing. I was then diagnosed with Gastroparesis because I was throwing up so often and had constipation. Does she get full easily or feel like there is something stuck in...
  7. how about, "You don't have Celiac, that's a sexually transmitted disease and you said you've only been with one person...your husband." WOW! RUNNNNN!!!!!
  8. Sorry I've missed the discussion, I've been really sick and have lost 8 pounds in 7 days (not from the Celiac, but complicating issues of the gastroparesis). I guess I should state first that I view KRAFT as ALL of their underlying products/companies. They have a lot of companies that they have bought and get profits from. The person who contacted...
  9. Hey Miamia, It totally sucks realizing there are people out there who are as bad off as I am. I was at first thinking it would give me "comfort" knowing I wasn't alone and therefore it wasn't all in my mind, but knowing people are suffering like I am just stinks. I'm now about 10 pounds from the constant IV. I've lost 8 pounds in 7 days here and keep...
  10. Thanks, I know that's their policy. I asked about the label reading and they did state that they will list the grains and such. I then asked them if anything was on the line with any gluten, or wheat, rye, etc. They said they had no clue and couldn't guarantee their products to be gluten free when asked this question. The representative I talked to said...
  11. I got the whole shebang for tests. I feel like a lab rat because they did all these tests to rule out what I don't have vs. what I do have. I don't have issues with the thyroid except it is a hyperthyroid. I get tested every six months for diabetes because I'm prone to it with family history/having more than 1 kiddo over 9 lbs at birth. I don't...
  12. I have all those too. I don't have diabetes or hypothyroid. In fact I have a hyperthyroid. My gastroparesis is to the point of being on liquids only. I've done the vitamin supplements to help with the Raynaud's....it hasn't but I still keep trying. I don't know if they are related. My one of my doctors says they aren't. One says...
  13. I've been gluten free for a while here. I went gluten free before my diagnosis and still had the biopsy show a definite positive. Still having problems with nausea I got tested for gastroparesis and was diagnosed as definitely to having it (after 2 hours my egg breakfast was still in the stomach). I've been through so many tests I feel like a lab...
  14. Hey there, I'm new to the forum, but not new to Celiac and eating gluten free. I can tell you that any product by KRAFT is a hazard. They told me to not bother them with trivial issues like listing gluten. I've told all my friends to boycott them and all their affiliates (they have a lot and none of them list gluten clearly). As for...
