Proactiv states that all of their products are gluten-free. I have used it for years. Its works all right for me but I prefer other brands. Plus the first day I used it, my face was really itchy. But I got used to it and didn't have anymore effects. That is the only one I use that I know for sure is gluten free. These are the other brands I use without...

ARCHIVED Wheat Gluten And Chicken?
ErraticBinxie posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I was just watching the news and they were saying that the contaminated wheat gluten that was in all the bad pet food was also being fed to chickens. Now they are afraid that people are eating infected chicken. My first thought was....if chickens eat wheat gluten, should I be eating chicken? Does anyone know anything about this and if there is any risk... -
I totally know what you mean. I don't ever go out with friends unless its sushi. I am always so worried about it. And I don't know how to meet celiac guys so I am always wondering if I will meet them if I go to GIG meetings. UGH! Why does it have to be so socially awkward?

How Long Have U Had Celiac?
ErraticBinxie replied to Kara B.'s topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I have been gluten free for about 10 years now. -
This morning on The View they turn to Elizabeth and say...."Now tell me about this Celiac Disease that you have..." And then she talked about it and then she and Rosie drank RedBridge. It gave me goosebumps. Yay for celebrities being advocates!

ARCHIVED Celiacs Disease And A Freshman In College
ErraticBinxie replied to morrisgirl's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I lived in the dorms as a freshman and I was continuously getting sick from dorm food. Don't give up hope. I figured out I was risking too much so I spent the rest of the year eating fruits, veggies and rice. It worked out really well because I ate healthier than I ever did before and I felt great. It was kind of refreshing to live like that for a while... -

ARCHIVED Does Anystill Eat Gluten?
ErraticBinxie replied to uhmanduh's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
You should really see it as a blessing that you were diagnosed. There are so many people that go for years not knowing what is wrong with them - some of them almost dying - and in the end, they are so thankful to know what is wrong with them that a little gluten-free diet seems like nothing. Honestly you are being irresponsible. Part of being 18 and... -
ARCHIVED Kinnikinnick
ErraticBinxie replied to ErraticBinxie's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
After all of the years I have been doing this, I have learned that you need to toast EVERYTHING that is gluten-free unless you make it fresh yourself. It takes some getting used to, but after a while you won't want to eat bread, bagels, etc unless it is toasted. Good Luck! -
ARCHIVED May Contain Traces Of Sickness
ErraticBinxie posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I work at a seafood restuarant as a waitress and I often have people come in that have celiac disease and ask me what they can eat. I pretty much know all of the ingredients in salad dressings, sauces etc. A few weeks ago, I told this mom (who's very young child has celiac disease) that the only dressings we have that are gluten-free are thousand island... -
ARCHIVED Is Anyone Here Not Actually Diagnosed?
ErraticBinxie replied to kalanfan's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I have never been diagnosed. But my mom was when I was little and I felt better without gluten. So I have been gluten-free most of my life. But it sucks because my doctor refuses to believe that celiac even exists. So I will go through my life without it on my medical records. Oh well. -
I have been gluten-free for 10 years and when I started college this year, I felt really crappy. I tried everything and I finally felt better when I went off of dairy. Sometimes a reaction (ie you feeling crappy) are set off by stress. Or in your case, you are still new to the diet and your system is still trying to heal. Be really gentle on yourself...

I am in Eugene and there are a few wonderful places down here. Sweet Life has gluten-free brownies and other pastries. Capella Market carries tons of Kinnikinnik products. Market of Choice also carries many gluten-free free products. There are tons of options in Eugene. I was also hoping there would be a support group down here but I e-mailed the person... -
I have tried several times to become a vegetarian and everytime it has been a challenge but that doesn't mean it can't be done. I am living on my own next year and am planning to do some major tofu experimentation. If you were a vegetarian and now also gluten-free, the amount of food that you can eat will definitely shrink but you can still find ways to...

I have been eating a lot of Kinnikinnick products lately because I just found a store near me that sells them. I like them and they are really good but they are really hard on my stomach. After I eat them, I don't get a full-on reaction but my stomach feels uncomfortable and icky. It was suggested to me that because they are made in Canada, the rules about...

ARCHIVED How Bad Is Wheat In Shampoo?
ErraticBinxie posted a topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I have my FAVORITE shampoo that I have been using for the last several months. I absolutely love it. It makes my hair smell so good and feel so soft. Today in the shower I just decided to read the ingredients for the first time and I saw that it has HYDROLYZED WHEAT PROTEIN in it. I am heart broken. My question is, how bad can wheat protein in my shampoo... -

The pizza place in Lake Oswego is really good. It's called Talarico's Mercado. They have gluten-free pizza but it is a bit expensive ($17 for a medium-sized pizza) Also Rose's Deli in Sherwood and other locations has a gluten-free cake called a "Flourless chocolate Torte" that is really good. P.F. Changs just opened a chain in Bridgeport Village.... -
ARCHIVED Lactaid Anyone?
ErraticBinxie replied to ErraticBinxie's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Thank you all SO much for your input. I feel a lot more confident in it now and it also helps me to reconcile the fact that I now have two intolerances! Thanks again and good luck to you all! -
I have recently become lactose intolerant. I have been coping with it pretty well. I haven't cheated and I am strictly soy milk now. I am however wondering about products like Lactaid. I would really like to eat cheese just once in a while and I bought Lactaid but I am afraid to try it. I know that a lot of people on this forum are also lactose intolerant...

ARCHIVED Amy's Kitchen Products
ErraticBinxie replied to ErraticBinxie's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
If any was wondering, I emailed the company and just got a response today: Thanks for taking the time to contact us. I can understand your concern.
