  1. I have eaten at several of those restaurants...I thought Sambuca's and Baby Cakes were amazing! I had the raviolli at Sambuca's as well and they even gave us gluten-free rolls that were delicious.

    ARCHIVED Pf Changs

I eat there alllllll the time and have never gotten sick...knock on wood. The best things are, like others have said, the lettuce wraps and chang's spicy chicken. If you like seafood the lemon scallops are very good too
  3. I know two people who have celiac disease and their only symptoms were miscarriages. So it's definately good that you're getting checked out! Also, 99% gluten-free is no good. Your body can't completely heal if there's still gluten in it.
  4. It's definately hard at first. You have to go shopping and find gluten-free foods that you really enjoy eating. That way you wont feel so deprived and it will be easier. Do you have a Wegmans or health food store near you? Either of those places would have all sorts of tasty gluten-free things. (I recommend trying to find Pamela's gluten-free brownies...
  5. Yes but its gotta be a good accupuncturist who really knows what theyre doing. and believe me, i know how much of a pain it is.
  6. It's most definately related to IBS. I had the worst IBS for a long time as well and had the same problem when I drank. Accupuncture and accupressure helped my IBS alot, I definately recommend trying it. (and of course make sure what your drinking is truely gluten-free)
  7. maybe the meat you are buying is high in fat? also, what specifically are you marinating the meat in because many spices contain flour, however it is not always stated on the container (I found that out the hard way). I would recommend eating plain old meat with nothing at all on it and see how that makes you feel. If youre fine then you know it's whatever...
  8. Mother's Graham Bumper's Cereal Tortilla Chips w/ melted cheese dipped in refried beans Omlettes
  9. Too young?? There's no such thing as too young. That's extremely strange that your doctors refused to test you for it. I'm not sure how you can get them to test you for it...they should just do it if you ask them to...I would say get a new doctor? Also, be careful becuase there are some yogurts out there that are not gluten-free. But plenty of foods are...
  10. I am in love with South Beach Cinnamin Raisin Protein Bars (gluten-free) and Zone Perfect Protein Bars (only some flavors are gluten-free so make sure read the ingredients carefully...I always eat Fudge Grahm, Peanut Butter, and Caramel). The South Beach Bars are in just about every grocery store and drug store, however the Zone Bars are harder to find...
  11. I just wanted to let everyone know that I visited this tiny little family-owned retaurant in a small town in new york that served amazing homemade gluten-free food....and they have a website to order the food! Open Original Shared Link I went there for breakfast and ordered the apple fritters (with maple syrup)..they were delicious. I also bought a...
  12. like everyone else said, you will definately know when you eat gluten by accident. once you haven't been eating it and it enters your system again, it is unbearable.
  13. - Malt (like you said) - MODIFIED FOOD STARCH - Hydolyzed Vegtable Protein - Textured Vegetable Protein - Brown Rice Syrup sometimes (it's hard to be sure unless it specifically says what its made from) : - Maltodextrin - Food Starch - Natural Flavorings - Artificial Flavorings All soy sauces have it, most salad dressings that are not clear...
  14. First of all, I am very sorry for your loses. Secondly, I know for a fact that it is possible because very similar things have happened to my grandma and another lady that I know. Celiac runs in my family and the majority of women on my mother's side have it. My mother's mother had no symptoms of the disease besides the fact that she had six miscarriages...
  15. I have been stictly gluten-free for almost 3 years now. Five days ago I accidentally ate a very small amount of gluten contaminated food and got very sick. However, the pain is still lingering five days later. I'm assuming it's because my intestines were damanged when I ate the gluten and are still healing...is this correct? Has this ever happened to anyone...
