  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. Thanks for the reply Shay! My brother lives in New Hampshire and gave him a hard time about Hannah. He has a neice named Hannah! Told him she reached out and gave him a big hug! LOL I do have tuna for the girls, again I get paranoid because I'm allergic to it and my lungs close up pretty quick so I just hesitate to even have it in the house.............
  3. Hey guys! Need some quick help! I have Hurricane Ike barreling toward us and I need some easy non-perishable gluten free ideas for my two girls, 11 & 14 and if anyone is allergic to soy like me I'd appreciate any ideas for gluten free, dairy free and soy free! Any help and ides would be appreciated. I have bought some Bush's beans, however...
  4. Hey Jessica are you anywhere near the Houston area in Texas? Can't seem to find too any celiac's in Houston.
  5. I've discovered other food allergies as well along this journey and many chemical sensitivities. Citric Acid, MSG, carageenan, sodium nitrite all give me similar stomach pains. I'll will get waves of pains in my stomach, kind of like you can tell the food has moved from my stomach to the entrance of the small intestine that double me over in pain. I told...
  6. I'm alergic to fish so I try to get my omega 3's from other sources. I can tolerate organic beef now, so that is good. Thanks for the reply, this helps. I'm still wandering how much supplements work if their is not healing in the intestines?
  7. Thanks so much! I just got back from Whole Foods, so it will be a few weeks before I get back because it is so far away from my home. I appreciate the information. I wish my doc would be a little more forthcoming regarding the supplements I need. I'm expecting the test results for my girls to come in and I'm going to have to be more proactive with my line...
  8. Yes! I too have had the bladder irritation. Years before my celic diagnosis I suffered badly and if I ate the wrong foods including herbs my bladder would spasm and the pain and irritation was uncomfortable. I believe now in retrospect that gluten has something to do with it and so does the other chemical and food sensitivities that I have. I drink 100...
  9. Wow, bless your heart! I understand your journey. I wish that I could find someone who understands! I understand the healing thing. The going along just fine, not having any reactions, then reacting to what you just ate yesterday and going What! I have had to slowly over time add differnent foods back in. I have to watch my weight real close from going up...
  10. I am soy free and I have neuro symptoms. I went soy and gluten free at the same time in '06 and my health improved dramatically. I still have misc symptoms like muscle movement and spasms in the face, tingling in the hands, feet and legs and vision problems. However, the improvement is so much better than where I was at. These symptoms are minor now - of...
  11. What does SCD stnd for?
  12. Well, you had to mention the one thing that is realllllllllllllly hard! Exercise! LOL Yea a bit more of that wouldn't hurt huh!
  13. I would love to find an answer to your question! I'm in the same boat. In 3/2006 when I was at my worst and went gluten free I was weighing about 200lbs. I went on an wlim diet, eliminating just about everything, but lettuce and dropped to 156 by 2/2007. Now, I can't lose any more. I'm stuck. I eat honey in my tea, stopped eating rice and white potatos...
  14. Hi Nora! Thanks so much for the information! I'm going to look at the other forums when I get a chance. The article on the ttg antibodies was interesting. Appreciate it. I don't fully understand all the genes that are involved with celiac just yet. A bit complicated. I'm just glad to feel better and working hard to remain that way! Nice to meet you...
  15. Shay-How long have you dealt with the vertigo? The reason I ask is this was the main symptom that would send me to the doctor most of my life and have me leaving disappointed. As soon as I would say I was dizzy they'd get a look on their face and I knew I wasn't going to get any help. The vertigo is very difficult and I have not found anything that helps...
  16. I don't know if this reply will help or not, however I hope it is an encouragement. I started back to school in 5/2006. Just 2 months after my last seizure. I was beyond terrified that I would have one during class. I was having many other symptoms still, one of them being hypoglycemic. I got the nerve up to finally start telling my professors the first...
  17. Thank you so much for the replies! My kids eat them all the time! One less thing I have to take away!
  18. I would love to find other celiacs or those intolerant to gluten that live in the Houston area. Any feed back and help about where you shop, the doctors that you use, ect would be great! Are there any out there???
  19. Does any one know if the Popsicle brand sugar-free ice pops are guten free? Thanks
  20. Just a note, I was tested in August through Enterolab and both of my girls are being tested this month and Enterolab is currently using the American Red Cross. It is also listed on the bottom of my lab results. American Red Cross is not associated with Bonfils is it?
  21. I am DQ2 and DQ1 and for me my neuro symptoms, especially the seizures are what keeps me gluten free. No seizures when off gluten. Did a gluten challenge when celiac blood tests came back negative ( I was off gluten when the tests were done) and the seizures returned and other neuro symptoms. The DQ1 is said to be the gene the predisposes to more neuro symptoms...
  22. Hi guys! Can y'all tell me what supplements you are taking that help as well as which brands are gluten free. I live in Houston, TX and have access to a Whole Foods Mkt that have a lot of options available. I've been reading about supplements that are not vitamins but "whole food" put into a pill that is suppose to help you get more nutrients. Have y...
  23. I started the diet 3/2006 inadvertently. My symptoms of dizziness, loss of balance and coordination developed into jerky legs, muscle spasms, inability to walk without a cane because legs shook so severly, could not write I shook so bad, facial numbness, then convulsions and simple partial seizures that moved to grand mal. I started eliminating everything...
  24. I was really surprised by the malabsorption number because I didn't think that I was eating enough gluten. I cheated here and there because I had doubt in my mind that gluten was the issue (especially when blood tests were negative-took tests when I had gone off gluten) and ate in restaurants were cross contamination was likely and that french toast at Denny...
