  1. You might want to check in the pre-diagnosis, testing section. I just seen talking about the different things to test for- I didn't write it down yet though.
  2. I know I have seen this attributed in adults to celiac's, however I haven't seen it on any list for kid's symptoms. My 4 y.o. is starting to worry me in regards to this I am suspecting Celiac's for him and have started the process for testing, but I wanted to know if I should look for an answer to this elsewhere. Lately especially it is getting bad- talking...
  3. I am really interested in this as well. Luke's shoe size hasn't changed in a year. He did get bit taller, but not enough that he is not continuing to fall off the chart on height, has already done so on weight. It is good to hear that they can start catching up relatively soon.
  4. thank you both for your replies. I will be making an appt. tomorrow for the ped, I am praying if he does have Celiac's that it shows up in the blood tests. I am not certain I will be going through w/ the biopsy or not. I think I will pursue the enterolab tests as well. One minute it seems not so bad. Then I realize he still isn't growing regardless of...
  5. fwiw I don't think you are overreacting. I think that likely they just didn't think about it. It is hurtful when people don't consider our feelings.
  6. sorry for the messed up post above. That is great for your son, I bet that was a nice change of pace.
  7. I really have to fight not spending too much money on food. I just ordered a case of LaraBars from Amazon-mmmm. they worked out to about $1 each- certainly less than the HFS, but still way expensive. I need to just order the ingredients and make my own. I also use ev coconut oil, good grassfed chicken, lots and lots of good spices.
  8. My son(4y2m) has always had food issues, especially after we started solids. He was a big baby, but his growth just kept getting slower and slower. Of course that is more normal for a bf baby. I suspected dairy early on, but never had any confirmation. I also remember that he had issue w/ cheerios. I remember them causing him to do a lot of screaming...
  9. I am a big newbie here, I have never seen that, but it is my understanding that celiac often leads to fatty stools. I have never heard it described like that though. I am sure others will have more info.
  10. How wonderful to have an understanding teacher! I am sure that makes your son relieved as well.
  11. I was reading about the same research on another forum. I find it to be very interesting. Dh has tried the very strict candida diets and not had much luck.
  12. I was wondering about this as a newbie. I have suspected gluten for a few years, but always have been confused that sometimes I have a strong reaction to something and sometimes not. I have also noticed the more whole grain something is, the more troublesome it seems.
  13. Here is a favorite of mine- lots of calories here, nice fat, carbs and protein- and yummy! Egg Custard preheat to 350 Beat together in a bowl: 3 eggs 1 c milk(I use full fat coconut- I would make sure whatever you use it is not low fat) generous sprinkle of cinnamon pinch of salt 4 T of honey Mix until smooth. Put 2 custard bowls in a larger pan...
  14. Another important thing to do is to make sure you are populating the gut with good bacteria w/ probiotics. There are dairy free yogurt starters that can be cultured on about anything. Also, there are dairy free probiotics as well: Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Also, fermented veggies are good for building up the gut flora, but...
  15. I have had issues with nausea, which seem to be related to gluten, but also blood sugar issues as well. Now, how it plays together I am not sure. However, I have had a horrible time in the past with nausea when I wait too long to eat and my blood sugar gets too low or if I eat too much carbs or sugar- this seems to be exacerbated by the gluten issue though...
  16. I use this name a lot,but I don't believe I have used it at amazon- I believe it is turboblue over there(dh and I share the amazon account).
  17. I do agree that the SCD works great for healing. However, I would rather not be that restrictive if I don't have to be. SEriously the thought of going back on it brings up many bad thoughts. Now, right now I am feeling great just gluten free(mostly dairy free as well- I do butter and am going to try and add in some 24 hr yogurt- I need to see how Lily...
  18. Both of my kids had green stools from dairy issues. Of course the two are often related.
  19. Now I have went back and forth on the diet. IN May of this year we went on vacation and I decided to indulge in whatever gluten and dairy(I have been off of dairy for my newest little one as well- who had the green stools and blood- this time around I didn't wait to take it out though). Well, that started the spiral down. The past few months I have felt...
  20. I hope it is ok to ask a question on someone else's thread (I am new to this forum and it seems the etiquette is different at different forums- if I should start a new thread then I will) It is my understanding that you cannot have the disease if you don't have these genes, right? However, I have seen you and others talk about how some genes are not recognized...
