I felt a little guilty after reading some of the replies. My MAIN annoyance is when people say they are eating gluten free, and then turn around and eat something like a REAL cookie or piece of pizza because it was just too tempting for them. I have been gluten-free for over 5 years now, but I'm still in a little bit of denial about the whole thing. And...

True! Good Point!!

I get So annoyed when people eat Gluten Free when they don't have to. I guess it's kind of a Fad Diet thing right now. I get irritated because restaurants don't seem to take the "Real Celiac people" as serious now. Also, it's irritating to think that when I go to Whole Foods, and they are out of stock of my favorite food, it could be because of someone...

Just thought I would share my very frustrating experience while dining out tonight. So....my Husband and I went to Stonewood, and I asked for a Gluten Free Menu. The hostess told me that the manager would bring it to our table. The manager brought it over and said, "ummmm.....I was just wondering how serious your allergy is?" I said, "I have Celiac Disease...

ARCHIVED Does Anyone Know Anything About This Medicine?
Lexi posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I feel so crazy! My Celiac Disease, food allergies, and candida are making my life so difficult! My body acts so strange when I try to add anything new into my diet. I literally have OCD when it comes to what I eat. I eat the same things over and over until I get brave enough to add something new (and then I usually pay for it). The same goes for medicines... -
I take Constipation Stop by Renew Life. It's the only thing that works for me. I take two once or twice a week, and it does the trick everytime. It's kind of hard to find in stores though - you may have to order it online.

ARCHIVED Manager Bringing Gluten Free Cake
Lexi replied to Melstar23's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I personally think it is a VERY DIFFICULT thing about being Gluten Free! I panic everytime someone offers to make me food, and I usually don't have the guts to tell them ALL OF THE REASONS why I don't want to eat it. I feel your pain. -
If any of you fellow Celiac's are like me, I get really excited when I see a new Gluten Free Food on the shelf. When I was first diagnosed with Celiac Disease, I started eating Puffins Cereal, and LOVED it!!! I soon found out that it was wheat free supposively, but not gluten free. It also contained soy (I think). Anyway, the other day I saw that Puffins...

ARCHIVED Does Anyone Else Think About This?
Lexi replied to Lexi's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
It just sucks that I can be sick for 2 days because a waiter accidentally put a crouton in my salad, when I could have at least had something Really Yummy!!! I guess I would rather be sick for 2 days than 2 weeks though! -

My thoughts, Exactly!!! But that's what I was wondering - Are your symptoms WAY worse by eating More gluten, or are they the same no matter how much gluten you eat? -
That's strange because now that you mention it, I got two big sores on the inside of my lip last time I went. However, I thought it was from me biting my lip really hard and not knowing it because I was SO NUMB.

Hey! I am going to Busch Gardens with my Family next week. I have never been there before, and am having a little anxiety about food and restaurants. Does anyone know if any restaurants in or near Busch Gardens have Gluten Free Menus? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Does anyone else get sick when they go to the Dentist?? I love my Dentist, but I get sick everytime I go in for a cleaning or a filling. I have to immediately get in bed after every visit. I asked my Dentist about it, and he didn't seem to know what Celiac Disease was, and he told me he was sure that there was not wheat in any of his products. What should...

I try extremely hard to eat gluten free, but as we all know, sometimes we accidentally get glutened. Everytime this happens, I think in my head that I might as well go and eat something I love (like a chick-fil-a sandwhich for example). What would be the harm if I already know I am going to be sick for a couple of days anyway??? However, I haven't had...

ARCHIVED Tattoo To Symbolise Being Diagnosed?
Lexi replied to CourtneyLee's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I got my first tattoo when I went to Las Vegas, and my life has never been the same since. The day after I got my tattoo, I got sick and stayed sick, and a year later, I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease and lots of other food allergies and problems. I ALWAYS wonder if the tattoo brought on the Celiac Disease. However, there is Nothing I can do about it... -
Hey! I'm wondering if anyone has any info on bottled water for people with Celiac and other food allergies. I have been drinking Figi because it seems to be so pure. I thought it would be good for me and I love the taste. However, it is very expensive, and it's hard enough trying to afford a gluten free / allergy free diet. I tried to switch over to...

I know what you mean about hair color. I am very light blonde, but my hair color comes out weird every time now - sometimes very yellow. I HATE it. My hairdresser finds me to be a very challenging client - but luckily she is very patient! -

I was actually just wondering about Vitamin D. I spend so much time in the sun in the summer, so I probably get enough, but not so sure that I do in the winter. I am SO COLD all the time!!!! I either have the blow dryer on or stand by the oven all winter. I feel so cold that my feet feel like they are numb and burning most of the winter months! Thank... -
ARCHIVED gluten-free/lf Cookies...but They Made Me Sick?
Lexi replied to Ox on the Roof's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I use that mix too! However, I cannot tolerate soy. I use canola oil, and applesauce, and then add in the Enjoy Life allergy free chocolate chips. They are pretty good. But, last week I switched to the King Arthur brand, and used the same ingredients. They are much better, and the CLOSEST thing I have ever found to tasting like a REAL chocolate chip... -

ARCHIVED Why Does My Hair Look Like Crap Since Celiac
Lexi replied to Lexi's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
It's very interesting reading all the replies. I definitely stay away from soy because it makes me so bloated and miserable! However, it seems as if there are different types of soy in some of the shampoo and cosmestic products I use - It's really alsmost impossible to find things without hidden soy in them. Also, I have been wanting to take fish oil,... -
I was just sitting here thinking about how sad I am about my hair as well. In fact, I just wrote a post about it, and then I happened to read your post. I used to have beautiful long blonde hair, and ever since Celiac and lots of other problems, my hair is thin and constantly breaking off all over the place. I hate the way it looks now, and I can't do anything...

ARCHIVED Why Does My Hair Look Like Crap Since Celiac
Lexi posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi! I have had a ton of problems with my health ever since my Celiac Diagnosis, but right now I'm really pissed off about my hair. I used to have long, beautiful, blonde hair. When all of this Celiac stuff started about 5 years ago, my hair was really affected. It is so thin now, and it breaks off constantly. I'm not supposed to have bangs, but I do...
