ARCHIVED Dark Circles Under Eyes?
Lexi replied to BloatusMaximus's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I didn't realize that I had such dark circles under my eyes until I looked back at pictures from before I found I had Celiac Disease. I looked like death, and nobody ever said anything. But, who wants to tell someone that they look bad. -
Hey! I quickly picked up some Publix brand packaged coconut at Publix today. I am needing for a recipe quickly. Do you think it's ok. Ingredients are: coconut, sugar, water, propylene glycol(sustains freshness), salt, sodium metabisulfite (preserves whiteness). I am actually making blueberry cobbler, and I'm straying from the recipe to make it more...

Just wondering, however, it this would be good or bad if you are battling candida (which I am)

Almost 2 months ago now, I wrote in and told everyone about my experience at Stonewood. I totally glutened myself on purpose with every morsel of wheat I could find. I thought I would be the type of person who would gluten myself every once in awhile just to get a taste of my favorite foods. However, now I know I will NEVER do it again. It's going on...

I have been trying to figure out if Starbucks flavorings and syrups are gluten free for the longest time now. If it is true, that they are indeed gluten free - I still have one more problem. I can't do dairy or soy. Do you think they would make my drink with Coconut milk if I bring it in?

I feel SAD for you because I totally know how you feel! I have felt like not wanting to go on Many times, and it's a terrible feeling. My diagnosis of Celiac Disease came with LOTS of other problems to go along with it. It has been a Daily struggle - that's for sure!! And, most people just don't understand our lifestyle. This is a great place to get...

ARCHIVED Starbucks
Lexi replied to Lexi's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks for checking on that. I guess Starbucks is always going to be a gamble. I feel ok about the coffee, but what I am really wondering about is the Yummy syrups they use to flavor it. I looked at the bottle one day and everything seemed ok except the natural flavors. Natural flavors can mean wheat - right?? -
As a kind gesture, someone gave me a box of the new Betty Crocker Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix. However, I cannot have soy or egg (which the recipe calls for). What could I use to substitue for the egg (possibly applesauce)? Also, the chocolate chips have soy in them. If I pick all the chips out - would I still get the effects from the soy?? It seems like...

I find it hard to believe, with as popular as Starbucks is, that there is not more information about their products. I can't do Gluten, soy, or dairy. So, I am wondering what I can get there. I would obviously have to bring my own rice milk, but is the coffee ok, and are the flavored syrups ok?? Any suggestions?? Oh, how I miss Starbucks Caramel mocha...

Hey! Thinking about getting a rather large tattoo on my back, but have been putting if off forever because I am scared to death I might have a reaction. I have Celiac Disease, but also have issues with soy, eggs, nuts, and dairy. Just wondering what is in the ink, and just wondering if it would cause any reactions. I cannot find anything on the internet...

ARCHIVED My Legs Look Smaller When Gluten Free
Lexi replied to glutenfreejenny's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I feel like my whole body looks big and swollen all over when I eat Gluten (or soy). I'm bloated in my belly, but everything looks big to me, and I am a pretty small person. My face also looks puffy. It makes me crazy. It's almost harder for me to avoid Soy than Gluten. -
ARCHIVED Gas-x Thin Strips
Lexi posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hey! Does anyone know if Gas-X thin strips are Gluten free? I called the company today, and they said they didn't know, and would have to call me back when they found out. Interesting. I'm wanting to try them for bloating. Or, can anyone suggest a gluten-free product that does in fact help with gas and bloating. Thanks! -
ARCHIVED Rice Dream Rice Milk
Lexi posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I thought I was reading on here that Rice Dream Rice Milk is truly not gluten free, and is processed with Barley. I drink this product everyday, and even called the company to make sure that it was gluten-free. How can it not be it the company guarantees it, and it is labeled that way right on the box?? -
I FEEL guilty ALL THE TIME!!! Celiac Disease has drastically changed my life. It consumes me because every meal has to be so carefully planned out now. I always dread going to social functions and out to eat. Thanksgiving Dinner and Christmas Dinner are just NOT enjoyable like they used to be. Everyone reacts differently - some people feel like they...

This does happen to me. I have recently wrote on here about my terrible experience when I was glutened over a month ago now. I have been so bloated ever since, and I'm hungry ALL THE TIME. I look in th mirror, and feel so fat, yet all I can think about is my next meal. It's extremely difficult because I also have issues with eating disorders. I have...

This is driving me crazy!! I have totally LEARNED my lesson!! I am STILL having digestive issues. My food makes me feel SO FULL, and I am bloated for hours. I feel pretty good in the morning, but as soon as I eat, the bloating and gas start all over again. Plus, I have put on 5 pounds that I CANNOT lose. Also, I feel so tired and still nap everyday...

Thanks for your replies and support! I feel so much better after getting that off my chest. I would Never tell my family because I know they would be so disappointed, but they just DON'T UNDERSTAND since they have Never walked in my shoes. I have been trying to eat simple foods, and I have been taking a lot of detox baths, which really do help me a lot...

ARCHIVED Any One Here Have Foot Pain When They Eat Gluten?
Lexi replied to Lynayah's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Ok - now I don't feel crazy! I was glutened and have been having the worst TOE PAIN. It even hurts to get a pedicure or if my kids accidentally bump my toes. -
So, I have to admit it, and this is the only place I can do it. I recently glutened myself. It was my Anniversary, and my Husband and I were going to my favorite place to eat, "Stonewood". I ate bread, bruschetta, croutons, and a huge piece of chocolate cake. It tasted SO GOOD, and I haven't smiled so much in a LONG TIME. I didn't know how my body would...

ARCHIVED Help Me Please. Really, Really Bizarre Symptoms.
Lexi replied to RacerRex9727's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I also feel the same way if I accidentally eat gluten. It's terrible! I feel crazy, emotional, suicidal, tired, bloated, sick, and cry about everything. In fact, just recently, I was glutened and started crying in Carrabba's when the waitress brought me a salad that had a crouton sitting in the middle of it. I couldn't quit crying throughout the whole... -
I am currently taking a Multi Vitamin (for her by Nature Made), Calcium - Magnesium - and Zinc with added Vit. D, magnesium (250 mg), B-12 (500 mg), and Vitamin C. So, I don't see how I can have any lack of nutrients, and I eat very healthy (usually). I am going to try the epsom salt baths too. I have tried Candex, Yeast cleanse, and Fluconazole for the...

-

ARCHIVED Soy Protein Vs Soy Lecithin
Lexi posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hey! Does anyone know the difference between soy protein and soy lecithin? I have isses with soy and try to avoid it. I found a product I wanted to try and it said it contained soy lecithin, but no soy protein. Is it possible that I would be ablet to digest soy lecithin and not soy protein or vice versa, or should I avoid both? Just crurious. Gosh,...
